Glad it’s another town fan but biggest question is how much is he worth?? Why is it so important what he's worth? The only future for our club is to be run sustainably so expecting someone to come in and support losses is unrealistic and unhealthy. We have good guarenteed income for next 3 seasons so let's hope we can make it count. Exactly. The whole thing reminds me a little bit of Stewart Donald’s takeover for £40m at Sunderland after his time at Eastleigh. Donald isn’t massively minted by football owner standards and arranged to phase the purchase from Ellis Short to give them additional capital in the transfer market the next season. Suffice to say with the deal being between Dean (a Town fan) and Phil (a Town fan) I’m hoping that the arrangements could be equally beneficial for the club. So no, Phil might not have the funds of a Gulf State or an American Billionnaire but I trust Dean that he will not have left us unduly exposed in relinquishing his control of the club. Ironically, I’d be more concerned if we had been sold to a faceless foreign group promising the earth who then underdelivered (Venky’s anyone?) and then walked away once the parachute payments end leaving us in trouble.

Fair play he was involved at Southport. however me being a Town fan, if i had any sort of fundings like some and substantial enough to plug into a team, i wouldnt do it with any other than the one im a die hard fan of. So thats my question and so is where is the money and backing coming from? If he is on his own, then overall, it dont look great. If there are others then im happy to let it pan out and accept it on Deans trust. Should it go tits up, this bloke wont be watching Town for a while after..... Isn't his company based over Southport way. I thought he used to be on here too but I can't remember his user name, was he Mersey Terrier ?

In the TENTH minute on Sunday we should have a TEN minute standing ovation for Dean for what he's done for this club in the 10 years he's been in charge.. He is a true legend & deserves a proper send off. Anyone with me on this? Anyone active on Twitter, etc, that can help push this?

Best of luck to Phil Hodgkinson. Don;t know anything about him at all, but personally i like the fact hes a lifelong Town fan. Lets hope this is the beginning of another great period for the club under his ownership. As for Dean, every HTFC fan should hold the man in the absolute highest regard. He picked up a total mess 11 years ago and has gone on to build the club into something that is totally unrecognisable from what it was. Hes given HTFC the best seasons weve had in many decades, way beyond what most thought was even possible, and did it whilst allowing us fans to pay at least half what fans of other clubs pay. The man is a total Huddersfield town LEGEND and always will be. Thank you so much for the brilliant memories we'll all take to the grave with us! Nothing I can add to this. Well said and echoes my thoughts entirely.

Am i the only one that's pleased its Hodgkinson over that American Billionaire?
The Yank owns about 4 or 5 Clubs and has no links to this Town. Just because he's worth alot doesn't mean he'd spend it. I would worry about his intentions.
He puts ticket prices up and while you should never judge a book by it's cover....He looks plastic and fake as fuck.

Dean made an impossible dream come true and did so much for the Town and worthy charities along the way. Recent photos of him cooking on the barbecue for the PFP cyclists show his humility and graft. A true legend in our club's lifetime and I feel privileged to have witnessed some amazing times during his reign. Wembley and Chelsea memories and emotions were the pinnacles. Thank you Dean

Very sad day for the club but thanks Dean for everything leading up to probably the most euphoric single moment in my life when Schindler scores that penalty. Good luck to the new bloke who is also a Town fan. This season has been a bugger and the only thing to make it worse now would be to lose Mooy in the summer but am actually excited as to what the summer/next season brings.

One minute in the tenth minute maybe but i'm not a fan. After the final whistle would be the ideal time.

10 minute standing ovation starting in the tenth minute on Sunday. Let's show the footballing world how a real send off should look & sound like for a true legend! Can anyone help with this on Twitter, etc?

Great fella who has put everything into getting our club success upon success. The interview clearly shows he's gutted to be giving up control...it won't be easy for him at all...but his illness has taken its toll. He will never have to buy a pint again. That's a legacy to have. Legend. Hero. Top man. Hope he's got his tissues for his own lap of honour after the game. Think I might take a packet of tissues myself.

Ten minutes may be a stretch - how about one minute cos he was number 1 chairman? Am sure there will be songs sung in tribute as well.

No one has a clue how this guy can afford to buy town. I don’t get it. Did Hoyle give it away so it would be in the hands of a fan? (Because all successful clubs are owned by fans of course 🤔) or did no one else want it and Hoyle wanted out? You really have to put in overstrength rose tinted specs to see this positively.

Not more crying blokes, it was like this when Wagner left. Just give the bloke a standing ovation on Sunday and chant his name, tears not needed,he's not dead.

God knows, but if i was based in Grimsby and had say £100m, i wouldnt put a penny into them. I would be putting my funds into my team, but each to their own. I dont know his intentions, hopefully theyre good, time will tell. I will give him a chance like i did Jan, lets see what happens over the summer

Just check Hodgkinsons business history-it does not read well as others above have stated.

Don’t post often but on this occasion have to offer my thanks. Dean Hoyle I’ve followed home and away throughout your tenure, I’ve slept in the stands on the big sleep out. I work away a lot and I have absolutely extolled the virtues of Huddersfield Town throughout the world - but my contribution is nothing. Dean you are a legend you’ve brought joy to me my son and my dad - for that I thank you x

If Carlsberg did football chairmen...
Thank you Dean Hoyle - I, like every other Town fan, am forever in gratitude for what you have done for our club. We are exceptionally lucky you are one of us.

You are so wrong on this, do you really think Dean Hoyle doesn't want every single fan down there on Sunday putting there all into supporting Jan and the boys for 90 + minutes? The time for thanks is at the end of the game, hopefully Dean has the energy to do a walk of honour round the ground.

This season will go down in history, relegation, we lose our manager and now the chairman. Good luck DH you took us to the promised land and will always be remembered and good luck to the new owner. UTT

That's fair enough but after getting another drubbing how many fans do you think will be left in the stadium? Then we're all waiting & hoping he does a lap of honour at the end. I was just thinking of doing something abit different to the 1 minute ovation that happens all the time. Each to their own though.

With the best intentions in the world I can't see 20,000 people clapping for ten minutes. They'd be queuing up at A&E with repetitive strain injury's. PS. Drubbing or not, personally I don't think it will be. If the fans can't be arsed to hang around for ten minutes after the game to honour the best chairman in my lifetime they wouldn't clap anyway.

It’s a good idea syndrome to do it during the game as it would show live across the globe what we fans think of DH. 10 mins is too long to get everybody behind it tho imo.
