"Hello, you are through to PC World technical support." "How may I help you?"
Caller: "I am having trouble finding the net"
"Okay sir no problem." "Can I take your name, please?"
Caller: "Yes, it's Steve Mounie."
Steve Mounie walks into a bar and says, "I'll have a couple of shots, please."
The barman replies, "That's not like you!"

I reckon IF he stays, he'll have a much better season in the Championship. I don't think he'll be as much of a dud as he has been this year.
That said, if we got offered 7m or more, I'd like to think w'd consider it

What are the stats showing how lazy he is out of interest? That is more subjective. To me its a combination of two issues... first that he is lazy and generally uncommitted and lacking any desire. And secondly that that is compounded by him not knowing how or when to find space and get into good scoring positions. Criticism of the supply to him is justified , but if you had the most creative midfielders and the best crossers of the ball in the country, it is hard to supply a striker who can't be bothered or doesn;t know how to lose a marker and get into a goalscoring position.

If he goes, he won’t get in a premier league team. Not s good one anyway. He’ll probably go back to France or somewhere else abroad. I’d like to see what he can do in the championship though.

On this last seasons form Salford City would not even take him on loan for their first ever season of EFL football.

Can't really comment on him back then, the standard of defending or the amount of effort he himself was putting into his games. My opinion of Mounie is entirely from watching him at Town for the last 2 years. Hopefully someone from the French top flight will remember him as a good striker if thats what he was. If we can claw back half what we blew on him we'll be doing well IMO.

If he is sold, we're getting nowhere near what we paid out for him. Which top side is going to want him after how he's played for the majority of the last 2 years? If he stays, I hope he is at best 3rd choice, behind Grant and 1 other. His movement in the box is terrible, and he's missed so many sitters this year.
Am hoping the big fella scores a couple of crackers at the Africa nations and we get our cash back from someone.
I still think he could be a monster of a player when he toughens up, That may well be 3 years away and wont be with us.

He was 6th in the Premier League for most aerial challenges per game this season and 2nd for most headers won per game. Not bad out of around 460 players. Also not the sort of stats you'd get from someone who had been bullied all season. I guess people see what they want to see.

Bullied? He is built like a brick shit house. I hope to be proved wrong but he (amongst others in this squad) would get run over in the intensity of a championship campaign. They need to put in some proper graft this preseason or it will be a rude awakening.

I will save you the hassle Fucking wank

Winning headers from long punts upfield is the one thing you can rely on him to do well, so that stat doesn;t surprise me.
There might well be some big lump of a centre forward in the local leagues who would also win most headers from long punts upfield and we could have saved ourselves a shed load of money.

My point being with his aerial stats that he clearly hasn't been bullied or not being arsed to put effort in or not giving a shit or he can't get in positions to win headers. It's an easy stick to beat a player with when he doesn't run around aimlessly. People see what they want to see like I said but if a player doesn't give a shit and has been bullied he doesn't go up for headers against big burly centre halves. We got criticised a lot on here for not playing a lot of long balls so I don't know how many punts down field many of these will have been. Criticise him yes but don't just make stuff up.

Well Ive never said he gets bullied. Don;t think he does if he actually gets in a position to put in a challenge.
He doesn;t need to put effort in to be in position to challenge for a punt upfield from Lossl. The keeper will generally put it pretty much where he is and losing your marker doesn;t really apply. I wouldn;t criticise that part of his game as its the one thing he could actually do well.
But that is not the full story when thinking of aerial stats
Its in and around the opposition area where he would not put the effort in to find space or win a header. Thats the more important part of those aerial stats. His movement and anticipation is abysmal and frankly bone idle. He basically marks the centre back.
Weve had worse forwards down the years ( not that many though ) but when you factor in the money.. what we bought him for and the wages he will have taken from us, then IMO hes the stand out worst centre forward this clubs ever had.

And how many seasons did these better centre forwards have in the Premier League playing against international standard centre backs ?
