The Flashing Blade, Flash Gordon with Larry Buster Crabb, Zorro. Waiting for the TV test signal to go off ..... Nostalgia attack for those of a certain age.... Ye olde theme tunes.

Robinson Crusoe, what a series , I actually managed to buy the DVD from amazon for posterity ,and as you say an absolutely brilliant sound track , when you remember these sorts of programmes you are beginning to show your age though. It was Banana Splits and Why Don't You when I was a kid. They were both shit to be honest but better than school. I've never known anyone say The Banana Splits were shit before 😱

Used to love the Horses and Flashing Blade, Great music and dubbing. I think Jackie Lee, who sang White Horses also sang the theme to Rupert the Bear.

Why Don't You was so weird... different hosts every year, they all looked about university age. They all lived in a house next to a canal and did bargain-basement Blue Peter-style craft activities. The theme tune suggested that we turn the TV off and do something else. Round the Twist was a laugh. One of the cast was also in Pugwall I think...

I’m sure they just used to do stupid stuff with food (like make pizza faces etc) and make up games with marbles and fuzzy felt ?? It was must watch viewing...and you never went away “and did something less stupid instead” after you’d watched them. You went out and played footy or rode your bike around or hung about on the street corner chatting like a normal kid.

I've never known anyone say The Banana Splits were shit before 😱 Banana Splits was fucking quality, I won’t have a word said against it. Ok, I relent! At the time, it was great but my guess is that if we watch it back, it will be shite. The Dickies version of Banana Splits is the best one btw. Yellow vinyl.

One of those you just never stopped playing, till my dad threatened to Smash my music centre to smithereens..

A bit of trivia for canaryisleterrier - the 60's Robinson Crusoe TV series island scenes were shot on Gran Canaria. Good trivia. Eeeee if you had told that young lad watching that when he was 6/7 years old he would end up living here.... it seemed a million miles away.

According to wiki a lot of it was shot around Playa del Ingles and some other bits representing his earlier life that were shown as flashbacks were done around Maspalomas and the village of Tejeda.

Bloody hell remember that, always on in six week holidays, as were that aussie programme (round the twist?,). Great days. There were a few Aussie dramas that ran in the holidays. One that sticks in the mind had the extremely well-endowed teenaged lass from Home and Away cavorting around on a Greek island in tight tops and hot pants. Great viewing.

The most unerving are the coming of a nuclear attack and the bomb hits narrated by Patrick Allen.

Best curry in Huddersfield is and always has been a Karahi from the Medina Bismillah on Bradford Road. I haven’t lived in Huddersfield for a couple of years and still haven’t found a better takeaway curry anywhere.

Dogtanian smashes everything, there is nothing better. There speaks someone who doesn't remember Potty Time, I got them on dvd for my kids, they loved it It can't just be me and a girl friend ( that is a friend who is a girl) regularly walk our three dogs together and constantly have them talking to each other in Johnny Morris Animal Magic voices, can it ? Also, you were either Blue Peter or Magpie, not both, listening to the FA Cup draw, all crowded around a small transitor radio was brilliant and recording the Top Twenty on a C60 cassette was a skill which improved after practice so you could pause and unpause to almost totally eliminate Peter Powell.
