Like "covterrier" posted earlier, I first got to know Scoffa over 40 years ago as regulars on the National coach, home games were 50p if I remember correctly, picked up at Ossett, Dewsbury, Batley, Clecky and Hecky, and also did most of the away games, the likes of Workington, Southport and Donny, we were all young lads, 13, 14 and 15, all Town mad and a lifetime later most of us still are.
Didn't know he was ill to be honest, makes it seem worse that kids you grew up with have passed, joins an ever growing army of Town fans. R.I.P.

Quite fitting Andy that the last post I see on this thread before posting myself is from you. We all have family but we also all have "Town" family. This family is made up of dozens if not hundreds of fellow supporters that you sometimes only ever see on match days. You haven't a clue where they live or what they do for a living but you are close for a singular reason-Huddersfield Town Football Club. It's a mystery how one's feelings for fellow supporters because of one reason can be so strong. Scoffa was a big character and by the force of his will did as much if not more than anyone to change the way home supporters could watch a game. He was just one of those fans that has always been there, had a word for everybody and supported Town with a passion that many so called top 6 clubs would buy if they could. Thank you for posting Booby. I know the past weeks have been very difficult for you. RIP.

Only spoke to him a few times when going to and from away days so didn't know him all too well, but was always a welcoming bloke whenever you saw him - and no matter what the result was earlier in the day was always in high spirits, laughing and joking about with fellow Town fans.
RIP Scoffa, and best wishes to his family and friends.

Like many, I didn't know Scoffa personally, but I recognise his face from many an away game over the years and remember him being a jovial character. Always sad to lose a long standing, loyal supporter - all are the lifeblood of the club.
My condolences go out to his family and friends

Gutted to hear this, Scoffer was a familiar face to most of us, travelling away or at home, his passion for Town was clear to see. He will be greatly missed. RIP

Dave has been around at the games from when i first started watching in the 70's. I got to know him a little better in the latter years. Heart of gold, strength of character and just a good all-round egg. I was deeply saddened when i found out last evening of his passing. Heartfelt condolences to family and friends. We miss you already Scoffa and i shall raise a glass to your splendid memory this evening.

Unbelievable. I heard Sean Jarvis say something about Scoffa being ill on the podcast. Didn’t dream it was this serious. Awful news. God bless you Scoffa, I’d only met you a few times but you were always great company. RIP.

A genuinely likeable bloke though I didn’t know him well. A proper fan who saw us through the dark times in the 70s and who had an aura of positivity and a ‘can-do’ mentality. RIP.

Very sad to read and hear this, knew of Scoffa and his legendary Town Fan Status through many Town Supporting Mates.
Again was always a decent, humorous and fair poster on DATM no matter where your team allegiance lay.
Sincere condolences to his, family, friends and fellow fans who had trawled the grounds with him as we all have done with our respective teams.RIP.

Just met Scoffa the once several years back, via a mutual pal, in the North Stand when the move to get home support into the South Stand was in it’s infancy and I know he was paramount to this. Seemed like a really decent guy and will be sorely missed by many Town fans. RIP
