Another one that only met him a couple of times several years ago but easy to see from the love and respect in these posts that he was a very special person that so many held dear. Such sad news once again following on from Goodshot.
Condolences to his friends and family.

I met Scoffa a few times over the years, then in April 2014 I got to know him really well during the birth of the North Stand Loyal as it was back then. We had some great times back then, we bickered and argued at times, we had some great away days and some memorable home games. We drifted over the last year or so, when I heard a week back he was in a bad way I was shocked as it was out of the blue. He was a Dad and had just become a Grandad. Rest in Peace, Scoffa.

I am stunned i had no idea. I played football with Scoffer at Old Bank WMC. The number of times he moaned at my misplaced passes far out weighed the praise for the good ones. But that was me pal not you. Thanks for being a town fan and for always being a great mate, even though its been a long time.
RIP big man. Much love to your family and friends Dunc

So sad he was always polite and courteous, he had a cheeky grin and was happy to be in the limelight. Town fans who knew him will be sad because he was a character and he loved the Town. RIP

Like many, I never knew him personally, but he was one of those faces I looked up to when travelling to away games in my teenage years. He always had a great energy about him and laughed a lot. Whilst I didn't know him to talk to, I remember going to Loftus Road with my old man (QPR fan) for the cup tie when Tommy Cowan ended up in goal and Scoff was directly behind us. Turns out him and my dad knew one another really well through work and I'm sure he'll be as shocked as everyone else when I tell him.
RIP Scoffer

Terrible news. Didn't know him personally, but the high regard in which he is held shines through in this thread. It would be brilliant if his family got to see these posts so they can see what a well thought of man he obviously was.
RIP fella. My thoughts are with your family and many, many friends at this sad time.

Like many, never met the bloke & only knew him from DATM.
But from all his posts that I've read over the yrs on here you can often get a sense of what people are about without having to know them. He clearly held his counsel pretty well, a very thoughtful bloke, passionate about all things Town & seemed like a very community spirited type of bloke.
All the best to his family & friends, glad that he had the chance to see his club play at the top table...
RIP Scoffa...

I didn't know him even though we are of a similar vintage but it is always so sad to lose a fellow fan, RIP. These events put our inauspicious season into context.

Knew him quite well in the 70's and early 80's on away coach trips, it's funny how life develops and people drift apart but still had an occasional chat in away pubs. The very definition of a true town fan.RIP

I'd known he was very ill for a while as I expect others on here did but thought it best not to post anything until something 'official' came out. I knew David through my brother who were mates from childhood and he took the time out to come to my dad's funeral less than 3 years ago. Lovely bloke and town through and through and it was touching to hear that DH, SJ and Boothy had visited him in hospital. He will be greatly missed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Totally understandable his friends/family didnt want to broadcast it, i didnt actually know until last friday, then heard the sad news yesterday, all seems (to me) so sudden.

Didn't know him but was aware of his vocal support whenever I was in earshot!
A real football supporter, a massive shame.
Wasn't he featured on the Nicholas Crane documentary about towns which featured Huddersfield?

Was with Scoffa with the Millbridge and stopped in Lutterworth a few times, one memory that stands out was when he came dressed as lionel Richie wearing a afro wig, and dragged me in to the hairdressers to see if they could do anything with his hair, the hairdresser finaly ended up fetching the manager out of the office to get a second opinion
