Only thing i can say about our Scoffa π that nobody will ever be able to take his place.....no other person will ever come close to this v.i.p who as sadly passed away.....this person was a character who conducted himself in a professional manner in everything he did.....we have lost a unique man....a good man....a warm man.....a man who respected everybody within the Huddersfield town community π i,m so sad at this time.....in his company he had special qualities which none of us had.....the man will be sadly mist......UTFTβ€β€β€β€ TTID.....SCOFFA =OUR NUMBER 1 V.I.P.....R.I.P......wish you would of woke up last Saturday when i was at the side of your bed BROTHER!!!!!!XXXX This brilliant post simply typifies the camaraderie within the bond Huddersfield Town supporters have.. Yes it's probably the same up and down country, but in my eyes we're a special bunch. Week after week, season after season we come together, we might only know each other with a nod of the head or a shake of the hand. Yet sad times like this bring us all closer together.. Well said Jimmy..

He taught us all to live life respectfully, with love, happiness and a positive energy unsurpassed by anyone i've ever met. He'll be sadly missed. Me and the other Brighouse lads tried to visit on Monday, but heard on the way that he was being moved to a hospice. I'm gutted I couldn't see him, but at the same time I've such strong memories of the good times and I know if I saw him now he'd put his arm me and say, "Werly, you just need to relax old pal" before breaking into song.
Above all he taught us to sing our loudest in the times of most distress, and that's what i'll do
GOOOOOOOING UP WITH THE SPIRIT IN THE SKYYYYYY THAT'S WHERE I'M GOING WHEN I DIIIIE WHEN I DIE AND THEY LAY ME TO REST I'M GONNA GO ON THE PISS WITH DAVE SCHOLEFIELD
RIP Scoffer old pal x

Hosted a comedy night at the Parish on Wednesday and there were a few Town fans in, so we raised a glass to him - what was telling was "Many of you will have heard of Dave Scholfield, known as Scoffa" - and loads of people agreed straight away.
I only knew him in the online world but he will be missed.

I didn't know Scoff half as well as some on here but I always really enjoyed being in his company. Scoff was one of those rare blokes who would light up a room when they entered it and hold the audience within through his wit, sense of fun and brilliant camaraderie. I only went on the Millbridge Bus a handful of times but Scoff was always so welcoming, entertaining and friendly. Despite only going a handful of times I've lots of great memories of him including him, JP and mids singing their infamous "Hit him in the head with a baseball bat song" on the back of the bus, Scoff trying to perform a high jump over a recycle bin on one of the coach stops and his Samuel L Jackson you're having a laugh masks at MK Dons. I've also never been as terrified by a feat of strength before when Werlinger pulled poor Scoff backwards through the coach seats with one arm in the blink of an eye. I'll miss seeing him around but am grateful for having met him. One of life's genuine and good people. All my best to his family and friends. X

I know this may sound a bit naff. But if anyone deserves some kind of memorial down at the ground, a plaque or something, then Dave Scholefield does .

When someone makes the impression he has, even on many who never got the chance to get to really know him, I'd say your suggestion hits the nail on the head ππΌ

RIP Scoffa. Only knew you in passing & here say but most loyal middle-aged fans know who you were which speaks volumes for all the right reasons.
At least you saw us at the top tier again-paint that heaven blue & white mate.

I know this may sound a bit naff. But if anyone deserves some kind of memorial down at the ground, a plaque or something, then Dave Scholefield does . A plaque on one of the seats in the south stand considering he was a major player in us getting that end? Or deserves something bigger? I donβt think itβs naff at all , good idea.

The other thing here, is that I'm sure this will tipify what people like this bloke did. Bringing a community of supporters together with ideas that were genuinely listened to by the club. So I'm sure this suggestion will get spotted by the club without it having to be pushed. We support a club that has a genuine affinity with its supporters...

Without getting too sentimental about the guys contribution, I believe that part of the recent success of the club is down to Scoffa. If you read Sean Jarvis' open letter from last week - I'd say he felt the same way. When it came to Huddersfield Town, the bloke was 110% and more. I've not met a town fan that gave as much to the club, with as much passion, enthusiasm and proffesionalism as Scoffa did.

I know this may sound a bit naff. But if anyone deserves some kind of memorial down at the ground, a plaque or something, then Dave Scholefield does . In June Valencia paid a brilliant tribute to a blind supporter two years after his death. Vicente Aparicio went blind in his 50s due to a detached retina but his inability to see did not stop him visiting the Mestalla to soak up the atmosphere at every home game. He renewed his season ticket in 1994 and kept it until the day he died. And now, thanks to part of Valencia's centenary year celebrations, Vicente sits proudly at the Mestalla again. That is because Valencia, who were formed in 1919, have erected a statue of Vicente inside the stadium. The La Liga club removed his old seat - No 164 in row 15 of the central grandstand - and filled the space with a life-sized figure depicting the loyal fan. His son has since visited the Mestalla and sat proudly next to the statue of his father.

So many lovely tributes to Mr Huddersfield town....i,v read everyone of them and they brought a tear to my eye.....now this fella was a real character.....a professional character who could draw in a audience without even trying.....there was no Mr big,the i am Scoffa ect ect it just came natural to him.....he stood out from the rest of us and you were actually glued to every move he made whilst in his company.....i don't know how he did it but it was special....he was a top man......a likeable man.....a popular man.....a man who listened to everyone of us and not a bad word to say about anyone......this guy was special like many of the tributes have said.....i do firmly believe that this guy was our all time number 1 v.i.p.....nobody will ever take his place.....its a tragic loss to our football club.......β€β€β€β€β€β€ like some of you say we should give him a memorial of some kind within the club.......R.I.P......

Don't think I spoke to him more than once or twice but a face you were very familiar with everywhere you went following Town
Very sad news and I am sure he will be missed by the many people he has come into contact with through his life

I never met Scoffa. Knew who he was, though - I think the majority of Town fans probably did, and that's got to be a testament to him.
I regret not going to introduce myself to him a couple of years ago, when I saw him behind the North Stand at half time, back when that was the South Stand. Kind of. He was on his own, smile on his face, enjoying a beer - I probably should have said hello. But you know what? I knew enough about the fella to assume that if he was on his own, he'd chosen to be.
Hooe he got a great send-off today. I know he will have done. Rest in peace, fella X
