Good outcome on the shirt design which looks really smart - I would have been equally happy with having a good cause as the main shirt sponsor like Aston Villa did with Acorns
I still believe the joke ran on too long leading to the opportunity for lot of bad press for Town and it also created unnecessary arguments in the fanbase - Town fans telling each other to f**k off on Twitter and here, apparently club staff copping flak in the shops. It's not ideal having fall outs and no one can deny it's not been a divisive topic
The juggling act is whether the positive PR of today's Save our Shirt offsets all the negative profile in the last 48 hours. Time will tell

I publicly announce myself as a self-righteous "snowflake", but don't care. The whole business has been embarrassing for Town, and Mr Corcoran of Paddy Power is hypocritical, to say the least. The only thing embarrassing to Town is fans like you. Go have a look at Twitter and you'll see fans of Arsenal, Spurs, City, Man United...even Leeds...all patting us amd PP on the back for what has been an amazing stunt. Then there's folk like you. Jesus fucking wept. I’m certainly won’t retract my comments. There are others here that concur. I suspect there are plenty who pretend they weren’t outraged, too.

The publicity stunt, if it is one, does not bother me. The shirt design does not bother me. What does bother me is that we have got into bed with a parasitic blood sucking leach like Paddy Power. I thought our club had higher ethics than this. Goes to show that we havent.
Fuck off back to your Utopia.
"The publicity stunt, If it is one" - doh
Why are some people so nasty? Is it because you are working a keyboard with no face to face interaction?

Of course you won't retract your comments, the vocal minority in most debates rarely do. Best I can see only drunmriggend has had the courage to admit he got it wrong. A very small number got all high and mighty but the vast majority have had a good laugh at this. So you stay saintly, miserable and pig headed and leave the rest of us to look forward to what comes next, cause it ain't over yet. You can work on your negativity for the next bit of fun

I was in hospital for over half the season and gave my season card to others to watch the team.

What gain is this? What do we get out of this raised profile? I'm amazed people cannot see beyond the end of their noses. Winners - PP Losers- HTFC How's this working out for ya? Fine mate, cheers. Glad it's all sorted, but I'd never want to see it repeated. Have you quite finished replying to everyone who got it wrong or partially wrong?

Well, can't say Im happy with how we got here, but at least the end result is a brilliant looking kit. Expect it to be a top seller ( even Ill buy that and i usually don;t ) so some tangible benefit to the club at the end of the day.
Can't say i particularly believe PPs supposed campaign to reclaim football shirts for the fans, but thats their business and after the unbelievable success for them that this episode has been, its hard to question their marketing departments thinking! Theyve even managed to get the BBC unwittingly advertising PP, so you have to stand back and applaud their people for getting value for whatever money they paid Town. Thought todays video was brilliant. Liked the first one, but this was very funny.

Social media. Reply or rage about stuff and then wait and discover you were wrong. Then still be outraged just because you can be.?

Over a football shirt?? Jeez anyone who felt like that needs to give their head a shake and go lie down in a darkened room...preferably for several months

(A little bit of me was hoping that the "sash" was actually the real kit, at one point)

Time to strap yourself in Slapps because the club it seems wants to embrace the inventive marketing and publicity that PP can bring. Whilst you clearly weren't onside - No-one can deny that it has been our biggest ever and most publicised kit launch. I fully expect sales to break records for us in the Championship. In your words from being a 'national embarrassment' You must surely now admit that 48 hrs after the sash launch the actual kit launch has become the most talked about sponsorship deal in the club's history and all the nation that you stated were previously ridiculing us must now be wishing they had a lovely sponsor free shirt for their club to play in. PR genius and doubtless more will be on the way!

Absolutely Doc. The embarrassment thing was always going to stop the moment the whole spoof ended.
Think the shirt will be a really good seller. Would have been with a conventional PP logo on it as its a really nice design minus the sash, but without it id expect it to smash all records.

eBay bids start tonight for PP top. I’m definitely bidding. Just had a look, but it's not on yet. Lots of Paddy Power Y-fronts though! Someone is trying to sell the horrible red and yellow striped away kit from 2009-10 (with Yorkshire Air Ambulance on the front) for £179.99 plus postage! You could take the 1 and the 7 from that price and I still wouldn't buy it!

Maybe signing Mbenza for £11m will turn out to be a spoof? Or is that just too unbelievable?

The anti-betting moral high grounders are going to be inconsolable this season, Cos I reckon we will be seeing some sort of Paddy piss take vid every month,,
The players/office staff and us supporters are going to be in for a cracking time,,, If you have a sense of humour.

Is that not right? Pretty sure I remember that being what Montpellier were demanding, and heard we ended up paying about £2m for the loan with an obligation to buy for the balance a year later.
