I loved him after the first season and thought he would be our main striker.I just feel sad that it didn’t work out for a second season for him.No point giving him stick on here because it’s obvious that a lot of other players were thoroughly disillusioned as well. The problems always start at the top never the bottom. No point giving him stick?! He was happy picking up top money for not delivering then when hes gone he has a pop at the set up. Dont bite the hand that fed you handsomely lolo.....just say sad it didn't work out and move on! Oh the poor poor players - thoroughly disillusioned?! Not as much as the poor fans having to watch it......and if those poor disillusioned players were top drawer they'd have gone upwards. They haven't with notable exceptions - it's all very well blaming wagner, siewert, the board etc but ultimately we didn't even go down fighting.....some simply packed it in and we went down in many eyes as the worst team in recent premier history. Theres no excuse for a lack of fight.

Not only does Depoitre criticise the club, manager, etc, he takes no responsibility for his own performance. Absolutely no acknowledgement that his own poor attitude/performances might have contributed to our collective failure.
Had he given his all on the pitch, then perhaps some of his other criticisms may have been accepted by fans. But he didn't. He was obviously overweight and not prepared to work hard on the pitch. He missed chances - which happens to all strikers - but the lack of effort is indefensible. We all know he was capable of far better as we all saw how he played in his first season with us.
Some of Depoitre's criticisms are valid, but some are ridiculous. But in the light of his poor performance/attitude/fitness last season, even the valid criticims are misguided to say the least. At the end of his first season he was a hero to many fans, now he'll be remembered as an arrogant waster who let us down more than most in a season of collective failure.

Spot on Andy - contrast thoughts on him and Billing with Schindler and Kongolo who themselves have been poor at times, but whose professionalism, commitment and effort cant be called into question! It seems that pride in own performance no longer appears to matter to players - it does to fans though as we've seen recently with own fan cricitism locally of Janssen at Leeds and Rhodes at the massive and more nationally with Sanchez and Lukaku at Man Utd and Eriksen at Spurs.

He can do one for me. Had everything in his first season when we literally fed him scraps. Last season he just went through the motions. Fat and lazy while earning a week what the average fan earns a year But after all that , just think about that goal at Chelsea. What a night that was

No wonder he's distracted from football when his bird is fit as fk.
Retains his legendary status for supping a pint at training for me.

Comes across as a bit of a tosser. Pissing and whinging because of the size of the car park is he serious? Also didn't he bothered to look at the training ground before he signed or did he just see how many zeros were on his contract? You didn't get picked up by a bigger club (bit of an accidental dig at his current club really) because you weren't good enough mate not because you had to wait 5 extra minutes to take a dump.

I expected this response from someone....this ran on here some years ago. I have also mentioned several times how language changes.. transmogrifies! It has been "dishwater" in Huddy since the Wesleyans pissed off. Ditchwater is accepted but not ideal. There's nothing magical about the linguistic evolution from 'ditchwater' to 'dishwater'. Blather, blether, blither.....blithering idiot.

I hate people that call themselves a striker who cannot finish. Laurent that’s you mate. Absolutely fucking clueless in front of goal. I’d have any of our genuine goalscorers from Div 2 even 3 over this chump.

I could agree with him had he been a stand out player and been too good for us, scoring goals etc. But after his decent first season all he did was have his knob up that fit bird in the Maldives in some jacuzzi pool. Tbh I don’t blame him You say that like it's bad thing? Thing is we can all slag him off but there was no service and he did well to score as many as he did considering. Every single game he played he missed chances. The service wasn’t great but when it was neither he nor Moonié ever finished. Same for al the others including defenders. None of em could hit a cows arse with a banjo. The only finisher we had was A.Mooy but he couldn’t get on the end of his own crosses.

Unless your a team who’s already been there, very few clubs are ready for the jump up to PL. Unnecessary comments from someone who spent more time in a KFC bucket than on the training pitch. Absolutely. Spot on. I think the phrase that comes to mind here is keep your own side of the street clean and your street old Laurent is full of rubbish and excrement.

There really should be accountability for whose decision it was to sign who and fans should then vote them to retain their positions at the club or face a sanction- no pay bonus etc. Who the fuck went to watch ldp and thought “that’s our man!” That’s the guy who will get 15 goals and set an example to other players. It looks more like an agent sold him to one of our more gullible operators within the club to me. Man he was shit. People get sacked for such incompetence, except in government.

Criticising any of our strikers for not scoring enough goals last season is akin to telling the groundsman the grass is too long on the pitch when all he's got to cut it is a pair of scissors.

Thought he spoke a lot of sense because on the actually soccer side the club has been a shambles this last 15 months. I also think he could, if arsed, have been a real success in this league if given some moderate service. I also see we could have extended his contract and sold him rather than giving him a free. Another less than sensible decision?

I think we're all criticising him for turning up at the start of last season a big, fat, unfit c***. His lack of goals probably stemmed from his lack of desire and lack of professionalism.

Lolo is right, and Webber was right too when he said we have a League 1 set up. That’s who we are, but I’m still proud of my club.
Wagner and Webber gave us a miracle, Hoyle struck lucky. Now we’re back to our usual crap situation, but hopefully we’ll get lucky again.
