Good to see the Women won again last night, beating Hull City 6-2. They have scored 16 goals in the last 3 games (6-2 and 6-0 in the league, and came back from 3-1 down to beat Forest 4-3 in the League Cup). That's 1 more than the men's team have scored in the whole of 2019! Maybe get the girls down to Canalside to show the boys how to do it On a serious note, good to see them going well. Top of the league after 3 games. OK it's only tier 3 but it seems to be steady progress year on year for the girls. Some highlights below from last Sunday's 6-0 win against Loughborough. Lucy Sowerby who scores the 5th in this game already has 7 goals this season. I know a lot of people think Women's football is rubbish (as i am sure some of you will post), but i enjoyed the World Cup this summer and thought i would keep an eye out to see how our Women's team do this season.

I’ve kept a steady eye on the ladies as one of them was a tennis coach for my kids a few years back (and have played a small bit of five a side with her...which hurt a lot!!).
Interesting that they now seem more joined up with the men...same branding etc on the video, things did go a bit murky for a while.
In his q&a, I think Phill did talk about his desire to get the clubs working closer together in the future, although obviously he has more pressing stuff to deal with first and any moves in that regard will likely not happen until the football club is into a proper BAU state....but...will be interesting to see what that might mean in the future in terms of ideas and collaborations between the men and ladies teams.
I can see potential massive benefits for the ladies in getting occasional access to some of the Canalside facilities and getting the kind of physical benchmarking that they’d have no chance of affording otherwise...and maybe a bit of exposure to the men’s rehab facilities for any crocked ladies.
Don’t know how the performance vest facility that the men use is funded, and if the ladies could gain an advantage by maybe using that to optimise training??
BUT...what does the men’s team get??
I don’t see much or anything that would give any kind of benefit to what happens on the pitch, I guess it’s more the community engagement and feelgood factor having the two clubs singing together all contributes to “what makes Hudds Town great” I guess (and I imagine that actually that would be the main benefit to the ladies, getting increased exposure etc through closer ties, rather than the stuff mentioned above which I doubt would happen in reality.
Obviously the ladies have jobs etc, but it would be nice to see Town ladies turn up to schools and hospitals etc jointly with the men. I’m sure (and I know) that the lads do inspire school girls as well as boys, but seeing that ladies can play football at a high level might give a bit of aspiration for the 50%+ of school children who couldn’t hold the ultimate dream of playing for the team we all follow because they happen to be girls, and more realistically, encourage a few of them to be more active...girls are a tough target for sports.
It’s an opportunity for Phil H to gain some thumbs up away from the emotive side of “the state we’re in”...so I’d guess he’ll be keen to turn his words into some visible outcome within the timeframe of this season.

They are yes, it wasn't a few years since we were refusing to let the Women use the same kit as the men. The approach is probably following on from some of the bigger clubs. I know over this side of the hills, the Men's and Women's teams at United and City are very close (United finally getting a Women's team last season). The HTAFC website has a bit of info on the players etc which wasn't there a year or so ago. The actual Women's site (they renamed from Ladies to Women this summer) isn't particularly brilliant but i guess there won't be much budget to create much. Just simple things like there is no fixture list for the Women's team on the site? You have to go the FA website to get them. Would be good to see more exposure, think they get gates of around 100 at the moment. I don't believe they can get promoted as the WSL has licensing requirements. Think you have to be semi-pro and get gates over 500. I have 2 young girls and they do like to kick a ball about in the garden, maybe one day i can get them into playing for Town

Bit disillusioned really how the professional womens game has gone.
Teams like Doncaster Belles getting kicked out of the league to make way for Man United women.
And yes I get that Man United will have a far bigger pull than Donny.
It seems that the top men Clubs will create an elite group of women's teams and dominate the female format by throwing money at it.

They play in the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division.
In terms of their pyramid it is at Level 3, so League One if you relate it to the men's game.
Level 1 - Women's Super League (WSL) 12 teams Level 2 - Women's Championship 11 teams Level 3 - National League Northern and Southern Premier Division's 12 teams in each
The champions of the Northern and Southern Premier Division's playoff at the end of the season to be National League Champions and gain promotion to the Championship. However I believe teams need to apply for a license before they can join either the WSL or Championship.

( yes , seriously ) the locals do use it as a play on words to the opposition . i thought it a slightly amusing double entendre...... obviously i was wrong

Would have been had any of that information been remotely evident.
As it was "do they like it up the butt" seemed crass, inappropriate and potentially sexist/mysoginistic

I hope they are having fun but i am a 57 year old fat bloke and if i roped in my 14 year old nephew, Sean Jarvis and the bloke who serves bacon sandwiches at Huddersfield railway station i reckon we would win 3 or 4 to nil. Nice half volley by the way

I was there on Sunday and had considered doing a thread entitled... ...My time with Katie Nutter up Butthole Lane..... ....with the opening line .... ...Unfortunately that isn't a euphemism.... but work got in the way. However it seems like only me and thee would have got the reference and I might have got a ban from a comedian with strange double standards regarding humour (Suicide & Madelline Mcann fair game - women's bottoms no way). PS No disrespect intended to Ms Nutter (in fact quite the the opposite, she is a very good footballer (dares put her foot on the ball and look up) and (possibly less importantly) by far the most attractive person I've travelled to see playing for Huddersfield Town).

Would be good to see more exposure, think they get gates of around 100 at the moment. I don't believe they can get promoted as the WSL has licensing requirements. Think you have to be semi-pro and get gates over 500. Seemed a fair few less than 100 at Shepshed on Sunday (and it seemed free entry - gates open, no-one about and turnstiles locked). Hard to see how they could justify being semi-pro even with gates of 500 unless (as suggested) they help out with schools in the local community and even then would you need a squad of girls going around schools. The girls (I call the men boys so think that's fair) were much better organised and disciplined than their opposition. Seemed stronger, fitter, more organised and better coached. Not said that about the men's team in a while.

I played against them when they were the third or 4th best in England around 1995. Our pub team beat them 2-1 and Mark Lillis was playing for them. Let them play but dont tell me its good.

It speaks volumes about you Oti that you don't understand how much women's football has progressed in a quarter of a century, or how much you will have declined.
