Burnley look like one of the better teams in the league this season, despite only being promoted last season. Both them and Sunderland the only unbeaten teams in Town's division (Town lost to both of them)
It's the cup this Sunday (Women's National League Cup for teams at tier 3 and below). We play Sheffield FC (the oldest club in the world) at home.

I pledged £50 to the HTAFC P4P charity for every Rajiv Van La Parra goal or assist in the Champions League this season. I've changed my mind and have donated the first instalment of £50 to the very deserving go fund me page linked above .... despite the fact VLP hasn't yet lived up to his side of the bargain! Let's hope he changes the habit of a lifetime and learns how to cross and shoot.

Missed this the other day but the Women have been drawn at home in the next round of the League Cup against either Long Eaton Utd or Liverpool Feds. Both in the tier below Town so a good chance to progress.
Not long till they enter the SSE Women's FA Cup. 1st round ties are this weekend and Town enter in the 2nd Round scheduled for December. The girls lost to eventual runners up West Ham last season but did knock out Championship team Charlton in the 4th round.
Also good to see the link up between the men's and women's team continue in the HTAFC retail catalogue. A few of the women's squad feature

No she isn't. Hi RT, thanks for the reply (and the regular updates on the womens team). The day after Bristol isn't great (& I was considering staying over) so I might not make that. Are you sure about Charley Evans? I thought it was perhaps Vicky Abbott (very impressive at bringing the ball out of defence with purpose.

You may be correct there Andy On the subject of players in the catalogue, Olivia Clark (goalkeeper) was named on the bench for Wales last night in their Euro 2021 qualifier against Northern Ireland. Have HTAFC Women ever provided an international player before? I know we also have Charlotte Newsham on loan from Man Utd who has played for Scotland U-19

Does anyone know what the average attendance for the women’s team is? This season it is 92 from 6 home league games played so far. Highest attendance was 137 and lowest was 55, a Tuesday night game against Burnley. Last seasons average for home league games (11 in total) was 84. Women's Super League average attendances this season are at 4,336, although heavily inflated from the 3 games played at Etihad Stadium, London Stadium and Stamford Bridge. Everton have the lowest average attendance in WSL at 386. www.worldfootball.net/attendance/eng-frauen-womens-super-league-2019-2020/1/

The Women's 2nd Round FA Cup match at Stoke was called off yesterday due to a frozen pitch, rearranged for next Sunday. If we progress then we will be away to either Loughborough Foxes or Chester-le-Street Town in the 3rd round.

When the men's youth teams play in the FAY Cup, they get to play at their respective club's main home stadium. Surely Championship outfits like Stoke and Town with modern multipurpose stadiums could do the same for the women's teams and utilise the under-soil heating as an emergency measure?

Arsenal ladies won 11-1 v Brizzle City. Vivianne Miedema scored 6 and got 4 assists but was subbed at 10-0 👏👏👏

That would sound logical, especially in winter when the Giants are not using the Stadium on a Sunday. I guess there may be costs involved in opening the stadium, but on the flip side i bet more people would go watch them rather than trek out to Shelley. Another idea could be doing double headers when the men's and women's side face the same opposition. For example both our men's and women's team play West Brom at home towards the end of the season (Women in March, Men in April), why not have a double header. I guess the fixtures need aligning at the start of the season to allow that and there could be logistical reasons why we couldn't do a double header (eg where would the women change, do the EFL allow it, how would tickets work etc)

I can understand their point, to be honest, because I'm sure the men's teams wouldn't be prepared to play AFTER the ladies had cut the pitch up and would they be prepared to share any revenue generated? I doubt it.

On Sunday I went to watch Derby vs Forest Women in the Cup, and there were around 300-400 there at Mickleover Sports (the Ladies' regular home ground), but earlier on in the season they played the same league fixture at Pride Park and had 2,318 through the gate. Would have been interesting to see if they could have challenged or topped that attendance last Sunday, had that also been held at Pride Park. I definitely think there's a bigger draw for the majority of supporters to attend matches at the men's stadium, even if only for one-offs like Cup fixtures/derbies. As for the Youth Cup, unfortunately some bigger sides tend not to use the first team ground any more – see Man City previously using their Academy Stadium, Man Utd at Leigh, and Town's fixture with Chelsea in two weeks time being played at Kingsmeadow. Takes a bit of the fun out of the Cup for me, and must be a kick in the teeth for the young lads who could have had the chance to play at Stamford Bridge.

Congrats to the girls who have beat Stoke in the Women's FA Cup today. 1-1 after extra time, the girls won 4-3 on penalties. Looks like it will be Loughborough away in the 3rd round.
