Shows how far things have come that people might think a 20k crowd for a Woman's game is a bit poor.

What to hate about it….sport played at different levels. Let’s hope Town don’t sign that fucking goalie though

Not looking great for Town's women. They lost tonight and are 7 points adrift of safety with 3 games to go. 2 of them are very winnable against the 2 sides with the worst goal difference in the league (Fylde and Stourbridge), but the other one is on Sunday away to Newcastle who will win the league if they win, so they could be down before those matches. Over 8,000 tickets have been sold so far for the match at Kingston Park.

As bad a season as both the Men's and Women's seasons have been, I'd still take that rather than be bankrolled by Saudi Arabia.

Relegated today after losing 10-0 to Newcastle, who secured promotion to tier 2!
Looked like what it was, full time professionals against part time amateurs.
Like the men, the women have been stiched up by some horrendous referee decisions. Non more so than the joke penalty against Liverpool Feds that cost them a win!!

A shame for Town. The team talk would have gone out of the window within 11 seconds. 7384 there so the previous info wasn't totally accurate.

A few signings being announced for the Women's team the past week. All of them seem to be pictured in the Stadium so hopefully suggests more support coming from the club for the Women this season in their objective to get back to the 3rd tier.

I can't remember where I read it, but they are looking to get at least 1 match at the stadium this season.
So it's a start.
They really need a decent home ground in order to build up support. Storthes Hall is just in the middle of nowhere

Not been for a few years but I always thought Huddersfield RUFC had a decent ground which could also be used by Giants. Ladies there too?

With the lads team falling off a cliff at the minute there is plenty cheer to report from Huddersfield Town Women and their start to the season... 👍 So the HTAFC girls are unbeaten this season thus far which is good... 😊
18-Aug-2024... (League) Leeds United Women 0 v Huddersfield Town Women 2... (Ibbiston 45’ - Firth 90’) 🥃 🍺
26-Aug-2024... (League) Huddersfield Town Women 1 v Stockport County Ladies 0... (Stuart 63’)
29-Aug-2024... (FAWNL Cup) Huddersfield Town Women 4 v Doncaster Bells 1... (O.G. 22’ - Bersford 36’ - Embely 64’ - Lambert 89’)
01-Sep-2024... (League) Huddersfield Town Women 2 v Norton & Stockton Aincents 2... (McMahon 82’ McMahon 85’)
So there we have it a little fair bit of cheer and happiness coming the way from The HTAFC Ladies !
And the HTAFC Women sit joint top of their league after three games level on points with Middlesbrough Women and Durham Cestira Women and only one behind The Cestira Women on Goal Difference... ⚽️
Next up for HTAFC Women is an away trip to face Chorley Women on Sunday 8th September with a Kick Off time of 2pm !

08-Sep-2024... (League) Chorley Women 1 v Huddersfield Town Women 0...
So It’s not only Town lads who suffer from utterly shit referees as the girls were hard done by with bad officiating in their trip to Chorley...
Stanfield is pulled, no foul given, Chorley nick the ball off her and score in Minute 1 and there it starts... ☹️ Flag happy linesperson gives EIGHT offsides against our ladies in the first half alone... Embely scores on the hour but it’s disallowed for ‘offside’ Embely hits the bar and Firth hits the post - Canny blame the cheats with whistles flags and monitors for these two misfortunes - Just bad luck, on another day I they go in... Molly Firth is then the victim of an unsavoury incident where she is barged from the box off the field of play and into a metal barrier giving her 🤕 two gashes in her head 🤕 and a broken finger 🤭 it should’ve been a stonewall penalty and a red card which of course was inexplicably NOT given, however they did sin bin Caz Simone for her very justified protests...
So Chorley Women leapfrog Huddersfield Town Women who now sit fifth in the table, but they’ll feel unjustly fifth and hopefully Town Women channel this injustice and use it in a positive manner to get back to winning ways with better officials going forward...
Next up is an FAWNL cup clash v York City Women on Sunday 15th September with a Kick Off time of 2pm !

15-Sep-2024... (FAWNL Cup) - York City Ladies 1 v Huddersfield Town Women 3... (McMhaon 14’ - Beresford 68’ - Tripke 90’)
So a decent win for HTAFC Women at a wet Young Guns Arena in Tadcaster where the hosts took the lead in five minutes through Ocean Rolandsen hammering a great shot into the roof of the net that Town’s keeper was unable to catch - I bet Ms.Rolandson felt the world was her oyster after scoring against the might of Town Women...
Town Women equalised shortly afterwards with a scrappy by Scarlet McMahon on hand to poke home - Town were glad that she bagged it though and almost took the lead but Kate Mallin’s effort came back off the post - She’d be scunnered if Return to Sender came on the radio on the bus journey back to Huddersfield no doubt...
Half-Time 1-1 then -
In the 68th minute Town Women took the lead when Rebecca Beresford sped ahead of the defence and skipped past The York Ladies goalie and did plaice it in the net for Sidwell to have to fish out...
Ashley Tripke almost grabbed a third but would not be denied and in the last minute of the game some pure fab intertwined passing from Standfield, Duffield and Mallin in the box found Tripke who bundled it home and Town Women progress to the next round of The FAWNL cup - Well done Ladies ! 👍

22-Sep-2024 (League)... Middlesbrough Women 2 v Huddersfield Town Women 0...
So a disappointing result for Town Women up in Teeside, a result that seen The Smoggies Women go top of the league and The HTAFC Women slip down to seventh...
Boro Women dominated possession without doing too much with it as Town Girls held firm and started to come into the game themselves but it was goalless at the break...
Half-Time 0-0 then -
Chances went a begging for both sides after the restart and Town goalie Kasey Bolton-Woolham produced a stunning save to keep it scoreless, but on 72 minutes The Smoggyesse’s took the lead through Giles and within three minutes a designer finish by Armani Maxwell clinched the points for the home side as she found space to be really flash and blast past Bolton-Woolham...
Boro’s female version of our own Lee Nichols was booked for time wasting before the game petered out for a defeat for The Town Ladies on the road...
Next up is a tasty Yorkshire Derby v Barnsley Women on Thursday 26th September under the lights at The Stafflex Arena (Kick Off is 7.45pm) !

26-Sep-2024 (League)... Huddersfield Town Women 1 v Barnsley FC Women 1... (Stuart 29’)
So a good old fashioned Yorkshire Derby between West and South Yorkshire ends in a stalemate and a point a piece for both teams...
Town Women being the hosts under the lights started on the front foot and Mason crossed for Embely who only just headed over the bar. Mason, Duffield, Embely And Mallin were all linking well and the deadlock was broken on 29’ minutes with a rasping hit from Charlotte Stuart from 35 yards leaving the Barnsley keeper with not a snowballs chance in hell of getting anywhere near it... HTAFC keeper Kacey Bolton Woolham had a great save to make just before the break to keep Town Women a goal to the good...
Half-Time 1-0 to Town then -
Embely almost made it two for Town Women on 50 mins however out of the blue Barnsley Women equalised through Cheetham ☹️ Substitute Rebecca Beresford came close for Town and Barnsley had a chance of their own but neither chance came to anything...
In injury time, Mason was in on goal and fouled but was controversially accused of being offside and the game ended up with the spoils shared...
HTAFC Women will probably be disappointed not to have taken all three points at home to Barnsley Women who went into this one propping up the table, but Town Women have nipped up a place in The League to sixth...
It’s a break from the rigours of League Duty this weekend with a tough home clash v Hull City Ladies of The National League in The FAWNL Cup as a reward for their win v York City Ladies two weeks ago...
Kick Off on Sunday 29th September at The Stafflex Arena is at 2.00pm !

29-Sep-2024 (FAWNL Cup) - Huddersfield Town Women 1 v Hull City Women 3... (Embely 26’)
And so The Huddersfield Town Women exit the FAWNL Cup with a 1-3 Home reverse against Hull City Women...
Town started off well enough but it was The Visiting Tigeresse’s who opened the scoring on fifteen minutes as a defensive error allowed Hull Women to score through Green... Lauren Joyce had a great save to keep Town Women in the game and taking impetus from this The Home team levelled through Leah Embely after Charlotte Stuart had only minutes before rattled the bar with a header - Embely levelled with a well struck shot...
Half-Time 1-1 then -
Just after the restart Town Women found themselves a goal down from a Hope Knight volley but Town valiantly tried for an equaliser and Stuart came close on a couple of occasions but as so often happens in these situations it was Hull who scored their third after another defensive error from Town Women...
Town Women tried hard to get back into the game but The Tigers kept them at Bay and progressed to the next round of the competition and Good Luck to them on their onwards journey in The FAWNL Cup...
Next up for HTAFC Women is a League Trip to Durham Cestira Women !

06-Oct-2024 (League)... Durham Cestira Women 2 v Huddersfield Town Women 3... (Stuart 20’ - Embely 70’ 79’ pen)
So a very entertaining game sees HTAFC Women returning to winning ways ! 😊
Durham had the first chance but thankfully Nicholson was off target much to the relief of Town Women... And they’d pay dearly for that miss as just seven minutes later HTAFC Women took the lead as Charlotte Stuart blasted in a pure fab volley from a Ria Montgomery cross ball, However just seven minutes later Cestira equalised through Daisy Clarke - Town had a warning just before that goal and were lucky to stay intact following an almighty scramble but the warning wasn’t heeded and they paid the price...
Play raged from end to end and Mallin had a half chance on 45’ but was unable to hit the target for Town Ladies...
Half-Time 1-1 then -
Town Women started the second half on the front foot and McMahon had a half chance then Stuart found herself one on one with The Durham Cestira goalie but blazed wide of the upright Embely had another chance but couldn’t covert but she’d not be denied and scored in the seventy’th minute after a great ball assist from Kate Mallin...
Stuart came close but the goal line clearance that saved the day for Durham was irrelevant as Offside was flagged on this occasion, but she plodded on and won a penalty for HTAFC Women which Embely converted with aplomb on seventy nine minutes...
Durham Cestira managed to blag a consolation goal on ninety through Collinson who got to the rebound of Kacey Bolton-Woolham’s parried save first, but HTAFC Women held on for three very valuable points on the road in a cracking contest ! 👍
This win lifts Huddersfield Town Women up to fifth in what is shaping up to be a very competitive league...
Next up for HTAFC Women is a Yorkshire Derby v Barnsley Ladies in The FA Cup on Sunday 13th October Kick-Off is 2pm - With no domestic football those Town fans who need a footy fix could go and cheer on The Huddersfield Town Women - The guys have just beaten Barnsley twice in a few days in home games and by 2-0 in both... They say lightning doesn’t strike twice but football wise could it strike THREE times if The Girls Win 2-0 at home as well...
We have so many amazing anomaly’s with statistics at Town who’d bet against this unique Hat-Trick ! ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️

Wee update for those interested in HTAFC Women...
13-10-2024..FA Cup... Huddersfield Town Women v Barnsley Women (Tie awarded to Huddersfield as HW - Home Walkover) as Barnsley never turned up...
20-10-2024.. (League)... Huddersfield Town Women 2 v York City Women 0... McMahon 15’ - O.G 62’) Town Women started on the front foot wish Ella Duffield shooting just over the bar and Embely who shot just wide, It was only a matter of time until Town Women scored and they did as Scarlet McMahon tapped in a cross parried out by the keeper in minute 15’ York Women came into the game and Kacey Bolton Wollham saved a few before Half-Time...
Half - Time 1-0 Town then...
Embely was unlucky to hit the post on 46’ and rounded the goalie shortly thereafter but the ball went outta play then just after the hour mark Town doubled their lead with an OG after a shot from Mason... York Women to their credit continued to attack and Bolton-Woolham kept Town in it with a clean sheet.
Ria Montgomery And Autumn Hounsley were injury victims but Town Women held onto their lead... Next up in The League is a trip to play Cheadle Town Swingers in Manchester !

27-10-2024.. FA Cup Huddersfield Town Women 7 v Nantwich Town Women 0... (Firth 14’ - Stuart 23’ 86’ - Housley 56’ 57’ - Tripke 59’ - Mallin 90’)...
So Town peogress to the next round of the cup at the expense of their opponents from The Cheshire Women’s Premier League...
It was Nantwich Women’s first time in the first round Proper after wins over Fleetwood, Mosley Hill And Solihull Moors in the preliminaries... Molly Firth missed a chance on four minutes but wouldn’t be denied on 14’ as she met a low ball into the area by Beresford and slotted into the bottom fat left corner... The advantage was soon doubled as Ashley Tripke found Stuart who’s shot was saved but she wouldn’t be denied and hammered in the rebound firmly...
Half - Time 2-0 Town Women...
After a wee settle in period Autumn Hounsley grabbed two in two minutes with strikes from inside the area, and Tripke swiftly made it five slotting in the rebound from Mason’s effort that came back off the woodwork... Two debutants then started for Town - Lucy Grice And Liv Dawson and Good Luck to both of them in their careers especially at HTAFC Women ! Stuart got her brace on 86’ and the scoring was completed by Town Women legend Kate Mallin in The 90th minute...
Town Women will play Accrington Stanley Women in the next (Second) Round !

11-11-2024.. (League) Cheadle Town Stingers 0 v Huddersfield Town Women 0...
So a stalemate here in poor conditions where defences came out on top on the day... The Stingers started in third and had an aggressive style but Town held firm and had the first chance with Beresford shooting over and Town Women appealed for a penalty on 18’ when Embely was brought down in the area but it fell on deaf ears of course - Town had a stroke of luck just before the interval as a free kick cracked the bar and Kacey Bolton-Woolham was the hero with a brilliant save from a resulting goalmouth scramble...
Half-Time 0-0
Most chances in this half would come from set plays and Mallin and Duffield came close for Town but to no avail and The Stingers couldn’t find a way through either and a point a piece it was as parity ensued and HTAFC Women remain fifth in a tight league table...
Next up is a Home match v Doncaster Rovers Bells on Sunday 17th November at The Stafflex Arena with a Kick Off time of 2pm - A chance to see a HTAFC team given the guys game v Wycombe Wanderers is postponed !

Its a bit of a one man show Westie - but keep plugging away! I've been saying for years that we are missing a trick. A little investment (into Women's football) would go a long way and improve the profile of HTAFC as a whole. Good to see the Academy is back but why can't the women play at Canalside and be included and promoted within the club generally? Great time to be involved given the backing from businesses like Barclays, the Government, the FA, and local schools and football clubs.
