Any further clues as to why the manager and his assistant jacked it in?

3-1 win for the girls away to Middlesbrough this afternoon. Always good to see a Town team win Phil. Guess the girls have managed it more than the guys this last few years. Hope they have a very successful season. Go on ye Huddersfield Town Terrieresse’s !!!!

1-1 FT, Brighouse score in the last minute. We did save another penalty as well. Shame about the loss of the late equaliser, but still unbeaten in the table. Looks like Huddersfield Town first team and The Huddersfield Town Women have cracked it in the goalkeeping department. Always good to to have a good goalie, the cornerstone to building an iron curtain defence and ultimately success can follow !

I've never seen a team celebrate a draw like Brighouse did. It was like they won the cup

why cant the women,s team play at canalside ? they would surely attract better support than playing out in the "sticks" at storthes hall

Plus its unlikely to meet the relevant football ground grading requirement. Such as covered supporter accommodation of a certain capacity (same reason FA Youth Cup games end up being played at the stadium)

Always good to to have a good goalie, the cornerstone to building an iron curtain defence and ultimately success can follow ! Yeah 2 penalty saves in 3 matches (actually it is 3 in 4 matches if you include the last game of last season). 2 different keepers making the saves this season as well. Last night was Becky Flaherty who is a Northern Ireland international. Up to 3rd in the table, 4 points behind Fylde and Wolves who both have maximum points. Next match away to Loughborough Lightning on Sunday. Jeez some name that for a footy team ! Hopefully the woman’s goalies keep up this lightning quick reflexes if called upon. Maybe the team could be known as HUDDERSFIELD HURRICANE if they storm the league this year ! It’d certainly be a good name for a local netball or basketball team if Huddersfield has one !

If you're not already aware, get yourself genned up on the history of Huddersfield Atalanta...the forerunners of the Hudds Town Ladies team. They played their first ever competitive game out in front of a 15,000+ crowd at Leeds Road in the 1920's, and won... www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/huddersfield-town-ladies-football-club-4987528There's a play about them currently touring. mikron.org.uk/shows/atalanta-foreverCan you imagine the outcry now if the FA banned women's football from being played at FA accredited grounds, to 'protect' the mens game from its popularity?! The world would explode. Yet this actually happened, as recently as the 1950's.

For anyone interested in the history of women’s football in Huddersfield, including Atalanta Ladies, the HTSA Heritage project website has two collections dedicated to the subject. 1. A Women’s Football Archive that contains photographs, matchday programmes, and media clippings from 1921 to the present day. 2. An interactive timeline of women’s football in Huddersfield. We’re hoping to add more content soon, as we’ve come into the possession of some items from the archive of Constance Waller, the founder and captain of Atalanta. HTAFC Archive also has a statistics section section on the Huddersfield Town Women.

A three mile drive from ma house gives you the most stunning sunsets over The ATLANTIC towards Canada and America and I thought ATLANTA was something linked to that, but it turns out it was a Greek hunteress. ! Interesting to see that the Huddy Town ladies who were Division 1 Champions in 1995 also had a ‘101’ club (scoring that amount on their way to the title). I wonder were they as wild and passionate a group as Micky Buxton’s brigade ? These lads are still like a band of brothers and I wonder if the lassies of that team are the same. In 4 years it’ll be the 30th anniversary of that achievement and I think it would be nice for the ladies to have a reunion weekend, take the Town by storm and reminisce in similar circumstances like Mikey and the ‘101’ lads occasionally do !

5-1 win for the women in Lougborough today.
Should have been more.
First time I've had to pay (£4), first time I've been able to get a programme (£2) & first time I've heard the crowd announced (92).
An enjoyable afternoon, would have been better if I could have had a pint (or bottle) rather than a coffee though.
Excellent facilities demonstrating why our students are probably being overcharged at £9,000 per year.
Try and see the "Prudhoe-esque" 4th goal if you get chance

Don't give the neanderthals more reason to have a pop at female goalies mate 😉 I did wonder about that Porroh but TBF in recent times posters on the thread are genuinely interested & not those strange types who dislike Womens football so much they open a thread on womens football & seem surprised by the subject matter. I also made sure I included the reference to a Man playing in the second tier of English football and in all liklihood earning (even then) more in a month than the Loughborough keeper will ever earn from football . Mistakes happen at every level. ....Plus I've already seen Ryan make one MUCH worse this season. PS The incident looked even stranger from the other side of the pitch, in almost slow motion the ball is trickling but bobbling about and it was hard to tell whether it would go in or just past the post. In the end it hit it.

Haven't been to that ground for a while, but I went to see the uni's mens first team play in the MFL a few years back and they were selling draught beer at a bar in that suite at the back of the stand for £2 a pint. Free entry for students too, they knew how to look after their own!

Just watched the women's team down at Lancashire FA HQ. Something not quite right with our girls, it's the same team as last season but they looked so flat and nothing coming from the new coach on the sidelines.

I was scrolling through the channels on my TV last night and happened upon what I assume to be a female version of MotD. Normally I'd just keep on scrolling, but, mainly due to this thread, I decided to watch it for a while. The first game being covered was Arsenal v Chelsea, followed by Man City at Everton and then a bit of a round-up, including Man Utd v Reading and Villa v Leicester. To be fair, there was no shortage of skill on show - in terms of individual ability and team play - but it somehow just looks all wrong and the defending is abysmal. Despite this massive 'push' to increase popularity, I just genuinely can't see it ever becoming a mainstream sport. Ahm (most definitely) oot!

A game we'd have expected to win, but you've still got to turn up and do the business (see Ipswich in the Cup the other year, for example).

If you're used to watching the mens game then you are never going to enjoy it. I watched the Solheim cup last weekend and in some ways it was better than men's golf. Yes some of them are a bit short off the tee but shots in to the greens and putting was outstanding. Same with Raducanu on Saturday. It was as entertaining as any mens match could ever be. For some reason with football it just looks all wrong.
