(Sun) 27-11-2022... FA Women’s Cup (Round 2) Huddersfield Town Women 3 v Durham Cestira Ladies 0... (Elford 27’ - Sanderson 54’ 81’) So HTAFC Women progress into the next round with a routine goal from their prolific scorer Laura ‘Elf’ Elford and a double from Britt Sanderson and could even afford to have a late penalty saved by the visiting goalkeeper - Some interesting and unusual names in today’s fixture card - Chedele Town STINGERS... Coventry SPINXH... London SEAWARD (Is Jan the manager - maybe about his level ! )... Sporting Kasha and Wem Town (these two sound foreign)... Hashtag United... (sounds like an office / computer team or marrow anna smokers) !!! But well done to Town Women on reaching the next round ! 🍷👍 Coventry Sphinx is a long standing football club in Coventry didn't know they had a women's team Unfortunately rugbyterrier - They have lost 5-1 at home to Solihull Moors Ladies ! Cracking name - Am I right in thinking that a Sphinx is an Egyptian kinda hairless pussy !!!

(Sun) 04-12-2002... FA Women’s National League Cup -
Middlesbrough Ladies 1 v Huddersfield Town Women 6 (Anderson 11’ - Elford 21’ 44’ - Sanderson 46’ - Hulme 54’ 69’ )
So a great performance yet again by HTAFC Women away to Middlesbrough sees them progress to the next round thanks to a goal by Katie Anderson, and a double by the prolific Laura Elford they were home n’ dry by Half-Time 3-0 up... A quick goal into the second half by Britt Sanderson followed by another brace this time by Laura Hlume completed the scoring for Town and Middlesbrough eventually got a consolation with around eight minutes to go -
So onwards march the Town Women’s team to the next round - Well done Ladies ! 🤙 🥃

Anyone know how old Laura Hulme is?
She looks like she could still be at school from HTWFC tweets.

(Sun) 11-12-2022... FA Women’s cup -
Birmingham City Women v Huddersfield Town Women = MATCH POSTPONED due to a frozen pitch (new date to be rearranged) - a pity as The HTAFC Women are in good form and though this would have been a tough ask v a Super League team in fifth place and five points from the top it could’ve been close and a chance for a big result for the Ladies...
Nothing much else to report then apart from HTAFC Women club captain Lauren Griffiths has left the team as she is going off to work in London !

(Sun) 08-1-2023... FA Women’s cup -
Birmingham City Women 4 v Huddersfield Town Women. 0
So after a five week lay off Town Women are out of the FA cup to Birmingham Women - it was always going to be a tough ask to win this one but the ladies are well enough placed in their league and hopefully can get back to winning ways when the action restarts there !

So a comfortable passage to the next round for The HTAFC Women and that’s them into the quarter finals ! 👍

I see The Welsh men and women players will be paid same amount now.
Thin end of the wedge, or a jolly good idea?

Mr Hoyle might not be too happy if one of our esteemed ladies team sees this and decides to take the same demands of him... And if he says nae nae ma dear, she takes him to The European Court of Human Rights and wins !!!

And if he says nae nae ma dear, she takes him to The European Court of Human Rights and wins !!! England's men and women players already have the pay parity that the Welsh internationals now have (and the Scottish don't). And aren't paid by Dean Hoyle! (+ the England men have donated their entire fee's to charities since 2007)

If the ladies are gonna have to work till 66 the same as the lads then they should get parity on the wage ladder - Good to see it happening in International footy (Scotland apart - there again Scotland is a very backward football country with very very backward governance) but I can’t ever see anytime soon parity between the guys and the gals at any club level !

(Sun) 22-1-2023... Sheffield & Hallemshire County FA Women’s Challenge Cup -
Handsworth Ladies 0 v Huddersfield Town Women 8 (Sanderson x 2, Hulme x 2, Fletcher, Mason, Langford, o.g.)
And another comfortable passage for The HTAFC Women and that’s them into the semi finals where they will travel to play Wakefield AFC Reserves Women on Sunday 19th February in a 2pm kick off (venue still to be confirmed)...
Doing better than the Lads in the Cup comps !

(Sun) 29-1-2023... FA Women’s League (Northern Premier Division)
Huddersfield Town Women 0 v Nottingham Forest Women 3
So a loss for the girls who had Lauren Joyce (GK) sent off - probably too late for aspirations of being Champions but still doing better in their league than the Lads are in theirs !

Good Luck Laura and thanks for all the many ⚽️⚽️ goals ⚽️⚽️ and 🏆 wins 🏆you achieved with HTAFC Women !

I think we'll see more and more of this as teams with a bit of money get the best players from those that don't have any. Especially so, if/when Newcastle women start making their way up the leagues.

Started/instigated/increased by Manure buying their way to starting as a 2nd division side and then hoovering up a shitload of ladies from less well-off clubs.

(Sun) 05-2-2023... FA Women’s National League Cup -
Wolves Ladies 3 v Huddersfield Town Women 2 (AET) (Ibbiston - OG)
So a quarter final loss for the Ladies after extra time but a very good effort to come back from two down non the less...
Och well, not a bad effort getting to the quarter finals - well done ladies and onwards and upwards for the next challenge !

(Thur) 09-2-2023... FA Women’s League (Northern Premier Division)
Huddersfield Town Women 0 v Brighouse Town Women 1
So a home loss at The Stafflex Arena for HTAFC Women in a fiercely contested West Yorkshire Derby under the floodlights near the towering Emily Moor masts. Brighouse Women took the lead on 33 minutes and despite a valiant effort from The Town Women to equalise it was not to be and Brighouse held on for the points (NB - Town Men... it can be done ! )
So Brighouse Women draw level with our ladies on 17 points but the girls stay above their neighbors across The M62 by four goals difference and have a few games in hand as they do over Derby Women above them...
Possibly already missing the goals of the prolific Laura Elford who has transferred to Burnley recently - anyway onwards and upwards for the trip to West Bromwich Albion Ladies on Sunday !!! (KO @ 2pm)

It's hard not to think that they completely missed the boat from the England Euros win this summer.
They should have been all over social media in the summer, pushing matches, tickets and content. This might have been out of their hands but an early match at the stadium with tickets being sold all through the Euros would have been great.
Town season ticket holders could easily have been given free entry to the first home game up at Storthes Hall. Free tickets to local teams, mascot/flag bearers opportunites for local girls teams.
Push the games like mad during the world cup break, combined with either free entry for Town season ticket holders or a match at the JS.
Finally, they've got to get the mens team helping them more. Not necessarily financially, but with promoting them. Things like advertising them on social media, retweets, announcing their fixtures during men's home matches, etc, etc.
The output from Town is put to shame by other clubs, even those 2 or 3 steps down the pyramid.

(Sun) 12-2-2023... FA Women’s League (Northern Premier Division) -
West Bromwich Albion Women 1 v Huddersfield Town Women 1 (Sanderson 87’)
So a draw for the Town Ladies in the midlands with a late equaliser from Britt Sanderson, Town we’re denied a stonewall penalty when Kate Mallin was hauled down in the box and got booked for getting hauled down ! Referees eh - even useless in the woman’s game...
So Town Women drop a place with Brighouse Women winning and WBA Women go up a place, next League game is in a fortnight where it doesn’t get any easier with an away trip to top of the table Nottingham Forest Women !

(Sun) 19-2-2023... Sheffield & Hallemshire FA County Challenge Cup -
Wakefield AFC Ladies Reserves 0 v Huddersfield Town Women 10
So first half goals by Hulme, Langford (pen) and Mason had HTAFC Women well in command at Frickley Country Park (3G pitch) and a deluge of goals in the second half completed a double figures rout and a comfortable passage to the final where our ladies will play either Doncaster Bells or Barnsley !
So a great weekend for Town at both the Lads and the Lassies matches - Has The Neil Warnock magic dust blown in the direction of HTAFC Women as well !!!! 😊
