Porroh posted it further up the thread. Nice to see a score like that in black and white twice though Oh, sorry, missed that. No apology needed mate, liked seeing that scoreline twice. Just wish the lads can do the same this season

If the women's team played as a curtain raiser for the mens team I'd def pop along earlier and watch.

Started the league season with a 4-2 win at home to AFC Fylde. They had to come from behind twice and sealed it with a 4th in injury time.

So how do we improve the profile of the HTAFC ladies team? Are they still playing at SH ? Has anyone spoken to Kevin about his plans for integration?

Started the league season with a 4-2 win at home to AFC Fylde. They had to come from behind twice and sealed it with a 4th in injury time. Not been great in The League since this opening day win... (Sun) 03-09-2023... Stoke Ladies 4 v Huddersfield Town Women 0 (Thu) 07-09-2023... Halifax Women 1 v Huddersfield Town Women 0 (Sun) 10-09-2023... Huddersfield Town Women 1 v Burnley Women 5 And so HTAFC Women languish in 10th place from bottom on three points... I don’t think the ladies could be expected to overcome top of the table Burnley Women, but next week it’s WBA Women away and they’re on the same points as Town Women, so perhaps a better chance of a positive result there next Sunday - Here’s hoping anyway !

Yeah they've had it tough since the opening week.
They've been a bit unlucky in a few matches. The Stoke score is ridiculous really as on the balance of chances they should probably have got a draw. The Halifax match was a poor affair by both teams and had 0-0 written all over it before Halifax scored with their first shot on target in the 96th minute. It was a great shot though.
Today, Burnley were just too good and punished any mistakes. To be honest though they're operating in a completely different financial world and are working with a budget heading towards £500k.

(Sun) 17-09-2023... FA Women’s Northern League - Premier League
West Bromwich Albion Ladies 4 v Huddersfield Town Women 1
A bad defeat for HTAFC Women this one as they were level with WBA Women who have now leapfrogged them by three points...
Town Women now sit second bottom ☹️
I think it’s gonna be a long old season for The Ladies, but hopefully a win sometime soon can kickstart their season -
It’s Derby County Women next Sunday at home (2pm) they are joint second bot with Town Women on three points so here’s hoping for what’d be a very welcome win for Town Women !

(Thur) 12-10-2023... FA Women’s League - Northern Premier Division...
Huddersfield Town Women v Notts.Forest Women - Match Postponed...
So tonight’s match postponed (not sure why just yet) but in the other game bottom of the table AFC Flyde Women pickled up a point v Liverpool Feds to come within a point of Town Women although Town Women have two games in hand now...
Next up for HTAFC Women is a home game v Derby County Women on Sunday - it’s a six pointer for our ladies as a win puts them level with Derby Women but defeat and HTAFC Women will be cut adrift from Derby Women by six points and could be bottom depending on The AFC Flyde Ladies result...
C’mon Huddersfield Town Women - onwards and upwards the table on we go ! 👍

Only consolation was that it was against Forest! (I'm honestly not still bitter about the play off final! 🤣)

Only consolation was that it was against Forest! (I'm honestly not still bitter about the play off final! 🤣) I feel a bit sorry for people who dislike Forest because of the 2022 play off final..... ...they've missed out on years and years of disliking them just because they have in their fanbase a higher % of complete and utter ***** than any other club I've encountered.

They were totally irrelevant to me before that season. I do feel now though, that I might have missed out.

The abandonment on Thursday evening was unfortunate, just one of those things. I know this was probably a one-off problem, and I mean no disrespect to Shelley, but is the ground one of the things potentially holding us back? I've only visited a couple of times, and I remember it being out on a limb and very open to the elements. I've been keen on what Derby have done at Mickleover since they renovated their ground, that seems a perfect fit/size for this league, with decent facilities, good cover, and a lot of club community involvement and encouragement to attend (they used to let men's ST holders in for nowt, so a perfect excuse to bring the kids out for an afternoon). Similarly, I think Notts Forest did a good job of that sort of thing at Eastwood, now Long Eaton. I know we're limited in the level of non-league grounds around Huddersfield too.

C’mon Huddersfield Town Women !
Game v Derby County Women today and a reasonable chance to muster up three much needed points and perhaps turn the corner of a losing league run...
Come on ye Terrieresses - Youse can do it ! 👍 ⚽️

Come on ye Terrieresses - Youse can do it ! 👍 ⚽️ Only unfortunately The HTAFC Women couldn’t today... FA Women’s League - Northern Premier Division... Huddersfield Town Women 0 v Derby County Women 4 And so an unwelcome and probably demoralising defeat for our HTAFC Ladies, confidence is clearly at a low ebb and it ain’t getting any easier with third place Newcastle Women up next week... Town Women now just a point about AFC Flyde Ladies who prop up the table - Not sure If Kev reads DATM but know he’s into Twitter and he might notice on it that the girls are in a bit of a struggle in their league this season - Hopefully they do rally and avoid relegation (not sure if it’s just the bottom or the bottom two who go down) and get some reasonable funding going forward next season !

I think floodlights is just one of those things, you see it at at least one EFL game each season. It was only a couple of weeks ago that the Giant's game at Leigh (home of Man Utd Women) was abandoned due to floodlight failure. I defintely agree though that playing at Shelley is not sustainable really long term. Facilities aren't great, the pitch is shit and it's so far out of the way that you've got to really want to go. Something more central, or even Canalside would be much better. I also think they need to engage with HTAFC fans more. Maybe free entry for SC holders during an international break?

It's as interesting and relevant to me as the giants. It's about a team called Huddersfield Town that play football. How much more "on topic" could it be ? The clue to what the thread is about I'd in the title, if it doesn't interest you don't click on it 🤷

There are rules. It's off topic, different sport. Maybe a new board needed.

So how do we improve the profile of the HTAFC ladies team? Are they still playing at SH ? Has anyone spoken to Kevin about his plans for integration? I don't know because some are saying they're playing at Shelley...I didn't think SH was in Shelley but in Kirkburton ?

I don't know because some are saying they're playing at Shelley...I didn't think SH was in Shelley but in Kirkburton ? They play at Storthes Hall but the site is now owned by Shelley FC. It's quite a decent set up with a clubhouse, seating etc and very scenic, though there is a regular bus service, it's not really centrally located. EDIT - www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/huddersfield-town/womens-football-team-make-history-playing-huddersfield-towns-john-smiths-stadium-for-first-time-1743627Just looked it up. When they played at the McAlpine in 2020 just over 1,100 patronised the match, not sure about the logistics of them using it more regularly for 'run of the mill' fixtures as the costs will be significantly higher than using Shelley's facilities. The article suggest they routinely get anything from 75-200 but if located down at the stadium you'd expect the crowds would better than what they currently get.

Although slightly off tangent, I remember back in the Leeds Rd days when local football finals, Hoyle Cup, District league Final etc were scheduled straight after a Town home game and as such many fans stayed behind to watch and because they were already in the ground no additional costs were incurred by the club.. Obviously for 'regular' league games that probably wouldn't work because the fixture lists wouldn't coalesce..but I'm sure KN will give them a pitch at Canalside eventually.. SH is too far away, Woodfield Park (if it's still there...) would be better but didn't the ladies play at the Rugby Union set up in Lockwood last season ..seem to recall them training there last year anyway.

Since then there's been the mysterious fire that destroyed the clubhouse and a barrier put across the entrance. Nothing else has been done with it since. Everything has just been left to rot and both the football pitch and cricket pitch are just overgrown.

My Dad took us regularly, there was tennis courts, a bowling green, a decent clubhouse serving food and drink, and various events there for young 'uns. Like loads of other facilites like this we seem to have gone backwards..wonder what KD is thinking..holding it as a landbank for housing ?
