Jarvis seems to get 16 confused with 18. I thought we were told we sold more season tickets than last year? Is that why we were never told the actual figure sold? The club dont always tell the truth... I know some will not believe that though. See htafc.com re Mooy's contact and option of a further year. That was an obvious mistake, nothing to be gained by lying about it.

What puzzles me is why nobody ever realised or mentioned our best and most valuable player was into his final year. Doesn't stack up for me, particularly with the website shenanigans. Typo made on the day it was announced then corrected the day he was sold? Really? Seems far fetched. I can't even understand why anyone would check the initial announcement about his contract was correct, on the day he was sold. Maybe I'm missing something and the first thing they do when selling a player is proof read all the articles about that player. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

Mistake, blunder, incompetence I can understand and accept, but to deliberately hide the fact he was in his last year I don't get.

The wheels came off because THE CLUB made an absolute dog's dinner of recruitment. The best manager in living memory, the miracle worker left because of it. Top post Roy. First class. Made me laugh and was (generally) true. However the bit I've quoted. Are you sure? With the benefit of recent information & the (apparent - PH said it but he also said he went to the 10-1) indication that DH is taking his money back more quickly than the vast majority anticipated, did DW leave because he'd received signs this would be the case and because of that also (quite reasonably) anticipated 2019/20 would be a tough year for the club. With DW in charge and without having to re-pay DH, I think we'd have been in a good position to return to the PL. EVEN with JS in charge and without having to re-pay DH, I think we'd have been in a reasonable position to return to the PL. Given what has actually happened I don't think Pep & Klopp could have taken us back to the PL (& the Cowleys will do well to keep us in the championship). Totally agree, crystal clear why he wanted to leave, he'd have been a total idiot not to.

I'm not saying its whats happened but I am saying the whole thing was very peculiar for a number of different reasons. Potter in the paper today saying Aaron will have to be patient and there's an agreed fee as part of the deal apparently. You can see why he was so desperate to go there to sit on the bench eh. Town obviously well aware of his value in pounds and pence but maybe underestimated his value on the pitch somewhat. We'd have picked up way more points by now with Mooy in the team. If we get relegated (looking a distinct possibility) I wonder if they'll still be pleased with the deal they did. Have you ever known a club get the details of a new players contract wrong on its website? I guess its not a matter of public record so we just have to believe what we're told.

You make a very good case there. My only response really is I don't think the club had to go to those lengths, if we're honest most expected Aaron to stay in Premier League football and be first out of the door.

You may be right about the mistake Codd (but don't see why they didn't just fess up rather than trying (badly) to cover it up). ...However the second bit to justify your opinion seems odd at the moment. ...what would there be gained from lying about whether you went to a football game over 30 years ago? Nothing I can see, but the top man at the club did it.

Yes, as someone else said, it was his first interview and he was looking to ingratiate himself, get onside with the fans, I was there I feel your pain etc. Silly thing to say he must be thinking in hindsight. No doubt someone will throw it back at him at the next Q&A. That's if he's daft enough to have one of course. I certainly wouldn't.

Why do certain posters on here always look and see nothing but conspiracy, skullduggery and deception? It seems to be the default setting of a number of our “fans”. We’re a bit amateurish as a club at times, but really...does it matter? It’s only a game, kids😉

You know the problem with liars Explorer. You can't f*****g trust them. Also depends how you define a "mistake". Sure lots of people make mistakes. Can an educated man saying something he knows not to be true just to make himself look "better" be ever viewed as a mistake? Seems a calculated deliberate act to me. .....& another problem with lies. Generally where there's one there are many....... There is a very very slim possibility that this may be the first lie he's ever told but personally I wouldn't be putting any money on it. Surprised DATM is so blase about this totally and utterly sh*8te charecter trait. Personally I hate "Billy Bullsh*tters" of this type and try to ensure I have little to do with them.
