Will clubs who might be tempted to ignore a positive covid test of their 'star' players be punished, and if so,how ? Who does the testing, an independent official of someone from the club ?
In restarting the season it only takes a few positive tests to throw things into chaos, so I guess the season could still be curtailed after just a few games...what then, do the clubs get another vote on what to do, and what method is applied to sorting the league positions..? After all, the league tables might look quite different from the one when the previous votes were taken..Town could be in the drop zone, Leeds could lose their first few games, Fulham could be just a point behind them...? .

Although i dont think clubs would cover up positive tests (the fallout for the club would be devastating if found out) Its certainly a permutation that could arise, and if so then what, do the league even have plans for such a thing happening?

I bet it was that IRA bastard... Hhmmm. I wonder what happens if a club is unable to complete any of its fixtures due to an outbreak. Not seen any mention of that. Be interested to know how people are now picking up the virus with the current rules that are in place. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards I would have thought standard points deduction if a club fails to complete a fixture on time. The season for all clubs has to finish at the same time - no scope to rearrange. We cannot end up with a club in the relegation zone for example missing 2/3 games and then when their rivals season finished have 3 games left knowing they need say 5 points to stay up.

Soon be over them fences if needed

Am in, Masked up n gloves on, Storm the ground, Police cant do anything, We could organise the toppling of Harold Wilson at the same time as the Wigan game and then the police will be too busy watching the youths causing chaos to bother about a 1000 middle aged stadium invaders.
Lions, are bound to have upset or eaten somebody somewhere at some time, So lets have that bastard off the top of the chambers organised the same day as the PNE game.
Sure I heard the Peterboro chairman is Phils guest at the Luton game, Someone else will have to think of a workable diversion for that one though as I wouldn't want to be too involved.
Smash Murder Burger, Smash the Co-op, Smash the Bus Gates, Smash the Discos smash em up.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/52997006Daft transfer fees still being bandied around - seems like parts of the game are expecting normal service to resume... Q to the floor - how does England compare to other domestic leagues, particularly in Europe? Do we have a far greater number of clubs to cater for in the pyramid, or are there other leagues with such a large number of clubs in a geographically dense country? I've no idea, as all we tend to get wind of over here, are the top 2 divisions in most countries. Not sure if they have the equivalent of L1 & L2, plus a large non-league set-up. If they don't have as much football to sustain, then maybe the disparity isn't as stark?

We are in a relegation battle, only 3 points above the bottom 3 - forget next season etc. It only needs a few bad results, injuries, players isolated due to the virus etc to put us in the shit. Yes other teams are in the same position but we are nowhere near clear of relegation yet.

I don't know as we don't usually play after May. The British weather can be strange at times, its not always ice and snow . I just asked the question . You're assuming that there will be no abandoned or postponed games . Do you think there will be a police presence outside empty stadiums. Do you think people won't gather outside stadiums when games are on. Do you think it's not possible that like minded (fans) could enter a ground and attempt to stop a game.

There won’t be a police presence outside empty stadiums but I’m sure in the event of the likelihood of a crowd building there would soon be a presence.
I think it’s incredibly unlikely that fans would attempt to break into a stadium to disrupt a game. It’s probably happened less than one handful of times at games where you don’t have to climb a big fence to get in.
You reckon people are going to turn up at the stadium with a step ladder or storm the main entrance?? I don’t.

The new 5 substitute rule. As I understand it substitutions can be made at 3 specific times during the game plus half time. But to stop teams taking the piss and making lots of substitutions towards the end of a game there is a cut off point for the last substitution to be made. If after that time a player is injured (or porports to be injured to bring a striker on for example if they are losing) this would not be allowed. Am I right.

I wonder if some of the hierarchy will ever use the words "football family" again? This has shown up the PL & the Championship in particular, that they are first & foremost, businesses. The L1, L2 clubs and beyond just want to have a club that exists to fight another day. The PL has always been driving division within the domestic game, this current situation will widen that gap even more. You'd have to think there will be some clubs who will sadly go the same way as Bury, acceptable collateral damage for some within the 'football family'... you make some valid points and yes the lower leagues have been disregarded in many ways and yes it is a buusness but I certainy believe that we are a famiky club but overall I cannot disagree with your sentiments

Ignoring the half-time, you have 3 in-game "slots" to make subs similar to today (I'm not sure if the half-time is effectively an EXTRA slot or is included in the three? I think its extra). It should work...you've had the opportunity to rotate more players off to manage the likes of Frazer Campbell or Mounie who you know you aren't getting 90minutes from, but otherwise you've just got to keep one 'slot' free left in case of injury late in the game. Could be interesting. Say you've made one sub after 60 mins, are cruising 3-0 in a game, get to 80mins...do you then swap out three players in a single 'slot' to give some players a rest, whilst keeping a final sub up your sleeve in case of injury or in case the other team pull a goal or two back and you need to make a defensive tactical change??

Sounds like a load of bollocks like most suggestions since the game was suspended.
Sorry football but I'm breaking up with you. It's not me, it's you.

Interesting? Behind closed doors football. I'll give it a fortnight before everyone turns off Behind closed doors football definitely isn't interesting*...but a tweak to the sub rule is, especially if it becomes permanent when they get together to discuss next set of amendments. If it was down to me, I'd be going a lot further in this area. For starters - if a player can't walk to the side of the pitch to get treatment and is so badly injured or fearful for creating extra injury that they can only lay there on the pitch and wait for a physio, then that should come with a mandatory 5minutes stay OFF the pitch (to check they're definitely ok etc, and to stop them play acting in future). *I'll prob watch the Town Sky game v Forest, and one of the iFollow games just to see what its like...but thats most likely it for me - might watch Liverpool v Everton I suppose. I've watched enough 20 minute blocks of behind closed door football this season (dating back to a Champions League fixture from before we'd suspended, and with the odd bit of K-League and a couple of bits of German) to know that I'm not interested enough in football to watch this version of it.

I think the chances are quite slim for a behind closed doors game to hold my attention for 90 minutes

Why do they need 5 subs? In some respects it gives the teams at the top end of the league a slightly bigger advantage. If they were 2-1 up, had used their 3 subs & the keeper gets injured, the default would be for an outfield player to go into goal, but now that scenario means they can bring the sub keeper on. I get the same applies for a club at the bottom, but it just feels like this has been brought in to protect the natural order of things.
Increasing the benches to nine as well - I don't see why it's needed, it's 9 games in a few weeks, not 19 games FFS...
Given that season 20/21 might also need to be compressed I wouldn't put it past the authorities to keep this in place next season as well.
Why don't they just give them 3 digit squad numbers, shoulder pads and helmets...
Jokers...
It won't stop me following the games, but I can't wait for all the back stories to appear in the months / years ahead. Integrity my arse...

Whats this about the Norwich player who tested positive but only he has to go into isolation. Says its something to do with the fact that whilst he played in a "behind closed doors" friendly he kept his social distance so no once else is involved. Why was he allowed to play when he had the virus!

Another set of positive tests...
12:31 Eight positive tests in Championship
The EFL have released the latest coronavirus testing figures.
In the Championship, eight individuals from six clubs have tested positive and will now self-isolate.
One of the positive tests is from Brentford.
In total, 2213 players and staff from all 24 clubs were tested.
