I was in the East Terrace right near the away end and that terrace charge was nothing short of ferocious, especially to a 9 year old. Mi dad didn't bat an eyelid. I'd already planned our escape route down the banking at the back of the stand. 1-3 Punk with green spikey hair going proper apeshit in the away end. Eye opener. Sutton Hanvey Hart Robins Laverick? Brown Cowling Starling Lillis I'll know the rest once I've found my programme. I know Slapps can name the whole team. Fred robinson, Brian Stanton?

Donโt think he was. Can anyone confirm the team and sub???

I started watching town in 79 too ( after watching Leeds for a couple of years previously ) Was your first game the Pompey game in October like me? Think that was a lot of fans first game. My first game too. I'm in Hudds right now. Hoping to dig out my programme this weekend. Tell us who the ref was please, Stan. I really don't think it was Peter Willis. Perhaps Redfearn from Whitley Bay or Saunders from Newcastle.

He's not sure exactly where they are but I've been wanting to see them again for a while. I'll do my best.

Just out of interest, on the back of todays game, can someone confirm? Are Swansea the only club we've played in all 4 divisions at the 'new' stadium? I mentioned it yo my mate today.

You got me thinking about how many teams have played in all four divisions at any time and there are many more than I would have thought - 25 without looking them up, so probably quite a few more. Bury, with their phoenix club now 5 divisions outside the football league, must be one and Northampton famously went from fourth to first and back again in the 1960s (typical of Town to just copy the back again bit.)

So many? I'm actually struggling to think of any aside from Swansea. There's lots of clubs in 3 divisions but all 4, I'm struggling to think of any aside from Swansea.

And deffo not, Cardiff's bottom division spell was late 80's to mid 90's and late 90's to early 2000's.

During the World Cup game England v Ireland (Italia 90) Gary Lineker shat his kecks in the 2nd half but stayed on the pitch to finish the game! "I got a bit more space after that. Nobody wanted to mark me" he admitted to the Guardian's journalist Simon Hattenstone.

Luckily he was wearing navy blue shorts at the time and the fans probably thought it was just a muddy smear running down his thigh!
