If Rooney thought Duane would be of ANY use in a relegation battle he would have kept him , the fact he doesn’t should tell us something The fact is Derby can't afford to pay their players on time so he's been told to cut the wage bill. Duane wants out, which he made clear in his interview so he's gone. Maynard said Brentford had a deal agreed to sign him in the summer but could close the deal due to Behnrama deal not going though in time. Well no harm in potential filling a position that could allow Pritch to leave . There is one thing he’s better than Pritch 😄

Welcome back Duane Always remember him linking up well with Vaughany, well one cracking goal anyway Wonder where Vaughany is now?? We're obviously in the mood for ex players coming back?? 12 goals in 19 apps last year, not bad eh? I would! Banging them in for Tranmere on a regular basis.

Pritchard won't be going anywhere unless town pay a considerable part of his wages prior to his contract expiring.

I've been told the delay is we are trying to move Pritchard on, to make room in the wage structure for Holmes. Hahahahaha you’ll never give this act up will you. Do you pretend you have insider news to all your mates too?

Pleased about this signing. Think he'll add a much needed bit of mobility in the middle. Who knows, he may even show for the ball!

That will be because he will still have to provide a negative Covid test result before he is allowed to mix with our players. Even though he's come from another 'sporting bubble', we'd be stupid to risk anything at this stage - especially with the way Derby manage to flout the rules at every opportunity.

Pretty happy with this signing myself We look to have added a lot of pace to the side; Holmes, Aarons, Thomas and Grant (maybe not Keogh though ) If we can get a striker it will be a good window IMO

More strength to squad which is always welcome. Not really one to at this stage for me to be really excited about but hope he does a decent job for us .... still need a few more before this window shuts!!

What ESR did, Pippa, Toffolo and O'Brien do sometimes is just run at defenders. Koroma does as well. We saw pretty much none of it against Millwall. They just set up shop and closed down any passing options. Without someone willing to have a go rather than always look for a pass we can be completely shutdown. I hope Holmes and Aarons do this. I hoped Eiting would but he proved to be not strong enough for this division. Out of 5 players signed 4 are forward attacking players, which is what we need. Two ready now and two coming through.

I particularly liked the comment about him scoring from the halfway line in the behind doors friendly. That's a good trick

Really happy with Holmes signing, established championship player, not someone who we have to wait to develop, knows the club inside out, point to prove, he will be hungry !! Hope he proves me right and any doubters wrong!

I know I wasn't happy when the original news broke but we are where we are, just watched the interview and was impressed with what he had to say. Good luck lad, shame he's not playing tomorrow.

Happy with Holmes coming back, & i think he will do well. We now just need to bring back Rotherham's main man Matt Crooks & we have cracked it 😉

I can get my head around this deal positively- he’s a good footballer, quick on his feet and I can easily see him in the Eiting role alongside Hoggy- when fit-and O’Brien, putting pressure on everybody’s favourite show pony.Well see.But please please get us some true centre forward cover for Campbell So that'll be a midfield 3 with no one above 5'7" 🤨 I think we want to play with the ball on the floor

I think we want to play with the ball on the floor Let's hope the opposition do too then aslong as we have some strong defenders I really don’t see the issue. There’s more to winning a ball in the air than being taller than the opponent

I’m happy for him, and I hope it works out. But I do think it’s a red flag when he’s saying he approached us about the move. I’d like to think we have a robust scouting process where we rigorously identify the right targets and go after them. If he fit the brief for what we need then we should be approaching him, unless it’s by sheer coincidence or maybe we thought he was out of reach (which would also be worrying)
Just feels a bit opportunistic, but maybe that’s for the best. Perhaps the best signings come from pieces falling together.
