Amazed at the season ticket sales. I have to accept I’m in the minority in feeling completely disillusioned with the way the takeover deal was concocted and how the club is being run. I can’t let go, not at least until we’ve seen some some quality players brought in for the first team and a modicum of ambition.
I can’t see anything other than a bottom three finish next season with the squad as it is and if we’re relying on takers for Mbenza and Bacuna to enable movement in terms of incoming transfers I can’t see much changing. 35 years a season ticket holder and I just can’t raise any hope or excitement for the season ahead. I know I’ll take pelters for this but it’s just my opinion.

I completely agree with everything you say but I renewed as I still want to go and watch Town with my kids, despite how lacking in quality and under-invested the squad is. Respect to those who choose not to, I don’t see where people who say ‘wait til the window closes to judge’ get their optimism from - that was said this time last year and in January only to end up disappointed.

Looks abit naff on TV seeing the FM lower closed up and empty but see the reasoning behind it. Our grounds too big for us... Well it isn’t is it, when we’ve had it full every week in the very recent past. What is it with town fans desperate to declare this club smaller than it actually is. I know, I was just on the wind up. It's a crap design of a stand that one, I realise the reasons of why its the way it is but it's of no benefit to us football fans. In hindsight would've been better just building another single tier stand. Home fans would've had their own end and away fans allocations could've gone back to 3,800 or whatever they used to get.

Probably should close Riverside Upper and South Stand too in that case? 🤷♂️ Not really. Both those stands ahve purposes - as either the family stand or the singing section. Out of all the 6 stands the North stand lower is the most obvious and easiest one to shut. Riverside Upper is neither a family stand nor singing section. It could easily be closed for season ticket holders and just the middle two sections retained for the corporate users. You've just decided the people in the FM Lower are less important than elsewhere, thats all. HOWEVER - I think NO stand that is in use (ie - all of them) should be closed. Those season ticket holders in the FM Lower have chosen to be in there and chosen to stay there despite it being the same price elsewhere in the ground, so it serves a purpose. The fact is, having Town play towards both ends of the pitch with home fans at pitch level is going to be a positive (or at the very least, not a negative) - we should do all we can to retain that potential advantage. The FM Lower gets a bad rep from those that have never actually been in it to watch a game...I spent 2 (maybe 3) seasons in the FM Lower, and its a perfectly good place to watch a football match from. To be honest, my seat (not that I *ever* had to sit) on the back row of the FM Lower is *by far* the best view of the action I've had (and I've been in all six areas of the ground), in terms of being close to a goal mouth and being high enough to get a tactical view etc. We *never* buy food or drink from inside the stadium, so the facilities or lack of them was never an issue (I think I bought a coffee once, its also the one area of the ground where you can go and queue for a drink and still feel involved in the actual game). Barely got wet (if you look up in that stand, you'll see the roof actually covers it more than the roof covers the Riverside Lower - obviously the wind blows in that direction often, but not a problem back a few rows...my lad was 6 or so when we went in there (moved to FM Upper when he was very little as view was blocked when in wings of Kilner Bank, then moved down to FM Lower to get the feeling of actually being at a football match) and didn't complain about getting rained on a single time that I recall.

Sorry I misread as FM upper. I'd close the FM lower. To me it doesn't add anything - it tends to be the day trippers in there, or discounted tickets, so I do t think it adds much to the atmosphere anyway. You could equally make the argument about the Riverside Upper but I think they have some of the posh seats up there don't they?

You seem to have misread quite a bit, I've referred twice to the Riverside Upper and suggested it could easily be closed just keeping that middle section open for the folk who have corporate tickets!
In the FM Lower, there are season ticket holders (about 80 of them), AND people buying tickets to go in there. The noise doesn't carry from down there to the rest of the ground, but 100% for sure it carries to the players on the pitch down that end (more so than the North End of the Riverside Lower or north end of the Kilner Bank which are both quiet).
The tendency seems to be to say, "well it looks a bit shit in there and I'm not going there, therefore lets shut it". People have CHOSEN, and have continued to choose to have season tickets in that area. There's a reason.

Instead of closing it they should use it for promotions, like schools/university & £10/£15 ticket deals.

What's all this bollox about shuting stands. If anything in this climate spread people out. With season cards, away support, pay on the day. Looking at 15k enough to make a decent atmosphere. And even before all this if there were spare seats around we always spread out a bit.

This is why I renewed. A lot of my mates and people I go to the match with have sacked it off and if it wasn't for my lads I probably would have done too, but its something special being able to go to football with your kids and make memories however bad they may be. I remember 100s of trips with my old man and now, 20+ years later you forget about the performance/result and how bad we were and remember it for the day it was, which is what its all about really I suppose.

We've signed a load of league one players pal, take yourself down the bookies and put 100 notes on us to get relegated. You fill the team with league one players, where you gonna end up? And its not a trick question. Congratulations. You’re the most miserable person I’ve come across in my entire life. Welcome to DATM Chez

You were saying that you WOULD close the FM Lower as it doesn't 'add anything'. My response included the rhetoric that it would be just as easy to close the Riverside Upper or certain other areas of the ground, acknowledging that the FM Lower people for unknown reasons just get considered as disposable people who don't "deserve" to be able to continue sitting where they're sitting - whereas when people historically got kicked out of the Riverside South end for just ONE game there was a massive cry baby hoohah! I repeat that I don't want ANY of the stands currently hosting Town fans to be closed or limited.

Given how low attendances will be it seems pointless to open the Fantastic Media lower and incur all the associated cost - completely agree with that I don’t know why the club don’t just say that rather than suggesting the tickets holders who chose seats there are incapable of making their own decision as to where they want to sit & what is good for them - bit patronising! What are we going to do if they would not like to move? “we have around 80 legacy Season Card holders in the Fantastic Media Stand Lower Tier. I’ve tasked our Ticket Office with contacting those supporters to see if they would like to move to a different stand, for no extra cost. I want to ensure that every one of you gets the best possible experience from your match day and I believe every other stand offers improvements in terms of being covered, having a covered concourse and improved catering facilities. We’re likely to contact you in the coming days to discuss your options if we haven’t already." Only thing I can think off if they refuse to move is maybe locate one of the sprinklers close to the goal line - that could work. Would make good half time entertainment - forget dizzy penalties!
