He'd be self isolating for 2 weeks and then likely need a month to get up to match fitness if he's been without a Club for that long. It'll be mid to late March before we saw him. Seems abit fruitless to me if we are talķing about a short term fit. My thoughts as well. Probably nowhere near Carlos fit. you mean injured?

If he could slot in soon would be a good signing I think. Did look very good in patches for Everton a few years back and his pedigree is better than this league.
We seem to get a lot of injuries though so I’d be concerned about him being at risk of pinging a hamstring and needing a while to get up to speed.

Wasn’t there some joke that if this guy stood in wall next to Koch and some other player it made an amusing sentence?

I work with and am good friends with an Everton season ticket holder. I had a chat with him this afternoon and told him that Town may be interested in Niasse. His response was this...laughing he said “mate, you’ll love him! He’s a great lad who has a knack for scoring but he can’t run, can’t control a football and doesn’t read the game well”.

Nothing like feeling settled in employment. That's why it may be wise to give him 18 months with the club having an extra year.

The knack for scoring could come in useful seeing as that's the bit our forward line is missing 😁

Always have to take quotes about players in a context though. Your Everton mate has been used to seeing some of the best strikers in the world play against Everton on a weekly basis. Niasse will be compared by Evertonians to Lineker, Cottee, Beardsley, Sharp, Rooney, Ferguson, etc. Probably looks shocking compared to them.

When the window closed I looked at the free agent list and this was the name that stood out for me. A different option. Someone to take a load off Campbell so that he at least has a chance of recovery between games. Even if he only comes on for the last 20 minutes or so, it could well be be very useful.
Although if WBA are interested too, then I don't like our chances of landing him.

I’ll be delighted getting a bloke that has a knack for scoring though, if that follows him here!

I agree on one hand about your WBA comment but on the other hand, surely he wants to play football again or at least put himself in the shop window to create a bit of interest for next season. Going to West Brom is probably not going to present that exposure often enough for his ambitions next season. He’d hardly get a sniff, where with us, there’s a very good chance he would feature more regular.

WBA have Grant, Robson-Kanu, Phillips, Robinson and the lad they've just signed that scored 50 odd in 60 odd games for Galatasary

i'm guessing that freeing up Diakhaby's wage has allowed us to have a go at this. I'd be little sceptical as to whether we are now free of all financial obligations to diakhaby based on how much he was on here and the fact that a second division French club wouldn't be offering anywhere near that.. Although I'm just guessing

Although I'm just guessing Yep. I'd agree with that. I strongly suspect that not only are we unlikely to have received a fee, but we'll be paying a good proportion of his wages between now & the end of the season. Literally ANY contribution to his salary is welcome and I'm pleased that he's gone, but it might not free up as much cash as some might hope.

If WBA wanted him he'd already be there - the video is a "come & get me" plea made at the end of December, and they didn't come & get him. I don't know if anyone else is interested but if we can get this one over the line I'd be pretty happy with that.

Mercenaries don't work for less money than they are already getting. And modern day footballers are mercenaries. I mean that in the dictionary definition sense not as an insult

I used to think if a club has paid 12 million pound for a player at some point then there must be something decent about them.
Huddersfield Town has made me realise that’s not always the case.

Best part of that is the chairman that spent it wants all his money back for his terrible investment too. It’s actually quite amazing to see how badly Hoyle ruined his ‘legacy’ with us. Niasse to take us to the playoffs UTT
