I get your general point but, with perspective, a 24 year old, well off kid, travelling the world, isn’t a disaster. Oh don’t get me wrong there’s fucking far worse things going on. Fair point though as I’m sure he thought he would have been playing Premier League games this season. I would have thought maybe a Southampton or Bournemouth could have used him.

Hoyle to O'Brien " haha, loser..." O'Brien to Hoyle.. "haha, loser.." Ain't that the sad truth.

Does that leave him in no-man’s land then?
What a shitshow of a season for the lad, although I wouldn’t mind being a tenner behind him earnings wise…

Maybe he could get around this my dyeing his hair blonde, wearing Cuban heels and calling himself Brien O’Lewis?

If that's true, it's a kick in the teeth for the fans...ok so he fell out with Hoyle, but DH is on his way out and besides there's 20,000 of us he's slighted. Sounds very immature tbh, if true.

Doesn’t Hoyle have form on this? Jack Hunt springs to mind. Anyway, he’s in charge so he’s entitled to do and say what he wants (see what I did there…😂)

Not everything is Hoyle’s fault. Regarding Lewis if he moved to take a step up why would he opt to come back to a struggling club with an inexperienced head coach? As I say, not everything is Hoyle’s fault.

Hard to see what Hoyle said about O'Brien that was disrespectful. He gave O'Brien a good reference from what I heard but said we needed to change our style and not having O'Brien in the team would help with that. His assessment at the time seemed wrong and as more time has passed, he has proven that but if O'Brien is upset by the comments then he needs to get broader shoulders. Context is important too. Hoyle wasn't going to say, 'weve lost our best player and we can't get a replacement'. Not a week before the new season started. What message would've that sent to the fans and players at the time?
O'Brien was never going to pick Town over Blackburn regarding a loan in Janurary. He's seeking new challenges, there's nothing for him to achieve at Town that he hasn't already done, he wasn't going to get a permanent return deal at the end of the loan and won't have wanted one with us either. If he could do better than us in July last season then he can certainly do better than us now.
Blackburn was the opportunity for him to put himself in the shop window for another move to the Premier league or potentially a permanent move with them if they went up.

Or maybe at the time he had no clue Blackburn would fall through and he said what many would've, words to the effect of "you said you wouldn't miss me, so why would I come back?" I kind of admire him for it. If it had been his only prospect of playing, the only offer on the table, he may have made a different call.

Didn't know he and DH had fallen out. Its suits people's agenda to pile a bit more shit on the club and Hoyle in particular.. so the bloke who said it down the pub must be right. We'll overlook that the loan deal Forest agreed with Blackburn had them paying all his £22k a week wage and an obligation to buy him for £10m if they go up...2 things that obviously Town are in no position to match. Apparently Forest would have jumped at the chance to loan him out in a much worse deal for themselves, but were thwarted by LOB being unhappy at the club that made him a professional and who've just allowed him the chance to try and become a PL player.

What a shitshow of a season for the lad, although I wouldn’t mind being a tenner behind him earnings wise… I wonder if he would have signed for Forest had he known they would bring in another 6 midfield players, not a great move for him or Forest who will be lucky to get 3 million for him after not playing 1st team football for 6 months. Don't feel sorry for him though, 20 k a week will ease his pain.

How many more people is Dean Hoyle going to fall out with? Off the top of my head, Ken Davy, Ken Davy's late wife, Steve Black, Jordan Rhodes, Jordan Rhodes' father (Jordan Rhodes' mother?), Mark Robins, James Vaughn, Jack Hunt, Julian Winter, Phil Hodgkinson, Stuart Webber, Carlos Corberan (didn't give him enough pocket money) and he would have fallen out with David Wagner, but he couldn't raise hie head from the hospital pillow at the time.
Anybody else?

Plus we were in a far better position as a squad unlike at the start of the season when Hoyle came out and claimed we had a good squad and manager, only him and about 4 fans believed in that when everyone else was saying otherwise. O’Brien would improve this team and I don’t blame him one bit for not coming back.

Anybody else? Rumoured to have fallen out with. But that's not really a big list if you think of the amount of people he's employed and worked with during his ten years or so as the owner. It's business. Hoyle has to make decisions that others won't agree with and that will upset them, or other peoples decision will have upset/annoyed Hoyle. He has made some good decisions and we've enjoyed some good times. He also got things wrong, a lot of things recently and that's why we are in our current situation and we looked doomed to league one, without the new ownership sorted. That said, it's abit tedious to say Hoyle's fallen out with Jack Hunt (he wanted to leave) Rhodes (he wanted to leave) James Vaughan (he wasn't fit enough for Wagner) and several other characters who were never popular with the fans and most fans happy to see the back of, other than Webber and Corberan.

I dont remember anyone predicting the season would go the way it has back at the start, even the most consistently pessimistic buggers on here. Everyone, Hoyle included, would have thought we were in a far better position as a squad than being in the bottom 3 all season. When Jack Hunt left almost everyone would have predicted a season of struggle with or without him.. because that was back in the days when Town doing that wasnt 'unimmaginable', but just what we tended to do.

Touched a nerve have I? Go back to the eve of the first game of the season and plenty and myself included saw that squad as a very poor squad and you know it. That’s not hindsight. Not sure you’re going on about with Jack Hunt, I’ve literally defended Hoyle on the Jack Hunt situation. Jacks behaviour at Town was a disgrace and when he asked to come back Hoyle rightly said no. The upshot at the time was that we actually had a good enough squad to turn down Jack.
