Got to feel a bit sorry for Lewis. Difficult year and never really as good as his old mucker Morse anyway. Still................UTT! Hope he uses his best Endeavour to play well for us now.

Great news’s he’s staying for now
Well done to the club for not being bullied and for O’Brien for not being unsettled by the Leeds press army
Now needs a new deal to protect his value
Otherwise by Jan he’s 18 months left and we’re in a different position

All things considered this has been a fantastic transfer window. Kept our best players and strengthened the squad.
I get the feeling that there is a real sense of togetherness at the club which is why O Brien never forced the move and Toffs stayed.

One can imagine how it plays out Agent demands £30k per week … club we can’t afford that …. But that’s what £8m footballers command in Salary.!!

Lewis is getting better by the year. By the time his value is met, Leeds won’t be his club of choice . They’ve missed out due to concentrating on paying 30 million for that man child from Man Utd. ( 😂 30 million talk about pants down)

Just more clubs impressed will give him better options . Not Leeds waiting for Phillips to go or get injured.

Not Leeds waiting for Phillips to go or get injured. O’Brien wouldn’t have been bought as a back up to Phillips as he doesn’t play that role, or have the passing range IMO to play it. I’m unsure on how high lewis can go. Clubs like Leeds, Burnley, Palace are all mid-lower end table teams (in my opinion that’s where I think Leeds will finish). Would he be able to play at a team higher up? I’m not sure.

Whatever you think about his ability one thing you can’t question is his attitude. He’s not downed tools in the slightest which is a credit to him. Hope he plays at the highest level with us, if not I hope he eventually gets his chance at the top level.

If you play in the prem with a team that stays up you are certainly good enough at that level.if you pleaywith one who is in the top six and are in the team you certainly are a top player .o brian for me is capable of playing in the prem and if he does he will have a good carreer he his having a decent one as it stands but the prem is the ultimate My bad, don’t think I was clear. Yes I agree he’s premier league standard. I just don’t think he is good enough to start/play in teams higher up in the league. Still, not a shabby life at mid table prem club..

While O'Brien has shown a lot of endeavour this season, I still see him as a grafter rather than a player with guile. Not quite in the Hogg mold, but if he's to become a top player he needs more craft, vision and artistry.

Is a new contract out of the question? I’d guess getting him to sign one now would be a lot easier than next summer.

Nixon saying he's about to sign a new contract 🤷 i imagine if he signs a new contract, his agent will be pushing for a minimum fee release clause to be added to it

If we manage to get Lewis to sign a new contract, I would be putting one in front of Toffolo then, seeing as they are good mates.

4 years? Hope the minimum fee release clause that will inevitably be included isn't set too low
