I think with Holmes and probably anyone who came in in January we need to wait and see.He nor the likes of arrons made the impact they would have been after but came in under difficult circumstances and into a system the in all honesty probably is fairly tough to get your head around, especially with limited time to work with them. That said with a full pre season under carlos they really need to hit the ground running as many minds are already made up. Personally I will give them a couple of months to make my mind up. Holmes was shit the first time round and worse the 2nd time, if he's near the team we're fucked If he called Duane Van La Holmes you'd absolutely love him

Give DVLH a chance and he might surprise you/us - much like I was surprised when RVLP actually put a cross into the box rather than faffing about

Amazing how another thread about a possible incoming player becomes a ‘rubbish the players we already have’ thread. Can we not keep that out of the transfer threads? It just wastes lots of time looking for relevant info.

However, it's really not that difficult to scroll through a few non specific off topic comments - at least until LVM finally gets announced

If we get any foreign players in it needs to be asap to get them up to speed with CC's methods & how he wants them to play, as well as integrated & settled here.

are we even close of signing him? Personally once colwill is announced I reckon that’s all the business done unless someone leaves.we will no doubt have targets lined up but can’t move on them until there is an outgoing. Would reckon the ones most likely to go would be pipa, toff,o brien, mbenza and bacuna. Not ideal for getting business done early in the window(although seems we have sorted the main weakness from last season) but it’s just how it is I guess.no club has really made many signings but few signs of market picking up this last few days.

You may well be right but I hope not. We released 9 players not including our loan midfielder and we have brought 5 in. I think that we all remember scratching around for team for a big part of last season.
We are weaker in the centre mid than we were last season at this moment in time and if any of the likely names depart :- Isaac Mbenza Juninho Bacuna Lewis O'Brien Pipa Harry Toffolo
We will need some very good transfers in to try and equal last years results.
Dunno about the midfield really.Eiting has gone as hard Pritchard but the latter contributed nothing last season. Scott high is probably expected to kick on and reece brown is back plus we signed Vallejo.Admittedly we have lost quality in Eiting and want to replace but the money must not be available, whether that’s transfer wise or wage bill wise, would suspect the latter more so. In an ideal world we get rid of bacuna and mbenza tomorrow and suspect we would move then very quickly to not only replace but add 1/2 extra. Out of the 9 released you mention 5 of those were defenders off the top of my head and we have signed(including colwill) 4 defenders. All in all I reckon the squad looks ever so slightly stronger to last season and there shouldn’t be the amount of injuries as schedule back to normal. Like I say if the two mentioned go ideally we get another 10 of quality and then probably another midfielder and right sided attacker/winger. However the way it’s panning out it may be o brien makes way for anything to happen as the most sought after.

However the way it’s panning out it may be o brien makes way for anything to happen as the most sought after.
Midfield, I did not count Pritchard as he was no real loss, but Eiting did show something different and a bit of a spark. We all hope that Scott kicks on but I would not base my first team squad on the hope of someone kicking on. The 9 released players did not include Eiting and the goalkeeper. It seems to be smoke and mirrors re the money and we are given a bit of a run around, no one knows what money we have for sure. Our wages are less than last year and will get less based on the prospects of moving some players on. Vallejo we had last season anyway. We hope that injuries are less this season but again it is in the hand of the gods. Having full back replacements will help maintain the first team strength if we have the injuries we had last year and we should not have to end up weakening the full backs and the midfield by playing O'Brian out of position. In summation I believe that have someway to go to get a better first 11 than we had last season, but the season has not started yet and the window is still open. I guess that this discussion should go on the one on the one about Yorkshire Post's predictions than a transfer thread.

And Holmes has got a move after begging his mate to take him on and then gone to show why he wasn't getting picked for his old team ? He admitted in his interview after signing that he played in a behind closed doors game against Town just so he could ask Bromby to sign him

I don't think O'Brien is anything special, Eiting was invisible more often than not and the 2 FB's are defensively poor, if that's what you mean 🤔

I don't have to - because he isn't. Far from it. You've watched Town long enough to know that there's a multitude of players we have endured who truly were total garbage, and DVLH isn't one of them. He might not be a world beater, but i don't expect him to be. I want him to graft, create, score, and contribute - I think given a fair wind and some better players (with some confidence) around him he will do ok for us.

Players are either worth at least £8m or utter dogshit. Make your choice ASAP and then stick to it, no matter what, until they leave/retire.

His other two gaols were scored against Birmingham in the cup. And no I didn't rate him either.
