So have we made this Marques signing, or not? Most of the recent posts seem to suggest we've nicked the DVLA from Swansea?? We lost out to Kirklees Council in the marquee signing. They're using it in St George's square. |

Deal off according to this. If its true they wanted a million euros if he doesn't play 50% of the games, then I'm glad we've walked away. Too much of a gamble for somebody who's hardly played any first team games.
Translation: Flamengo makes demands, asks for a fine for the number of games, Huddersfield does not agree and ends conversations for Lázaro. Rubro-Negro asked for a clause demanding that the British pay € 1 million if the youngster did not play at least 50% of the matches in the season

Clauses like this are illegal in UK football, as is the part ownership that Flamengo wanted (which is why they settled for a huge sell on). Seems they wanted to engineer some kind of pseudo-loan where Town would take all the responsibility for the player and pay his wages but Flamengo would get a fat up front fee and a wedge if we managed to sell him on. Decent player but not worth the mither, and I'm glad Town aren't being taken for mugs. |

No inside info, but I'm not sure it has completely broken down just yet. The Venê Casagrande articles are part of Flamengo's negotiation - he writes what they tell him to.
