Nice to see some Yorkshire grit in the ranks. I think he will be a no nonsense reliable signing for us

If he can defend properly , that'll be an improvement on most of our current defenders and give us half a chance of conceding fewer goals next season 👍

People going on about highlights reels, you could put one together of Sarr this season looking like a £50 million centre half. Some of the stuff he does is outstanding. The problem is he lacks concentration and whenever he makes a mistake it seems to get punished

Ultimately, it boils down to one question: is he better than what we’ve got?
In my opinion, the answer is yes.
So, it’s a good signing.

Of course some fans may be getting carried away but it’s almost like you’d rather we all have shit expectations and continue to moan than have a bit of hope and positivity.

Proven championship standard centre back who at 27 is in his prime. To quote others this looks like a solid signing - no fee and no risk that he can’t play at this level

Saw quite a bit of him earlier in his career when he was at Halifax.
One thing guaranteed is he will run through brick walls for us. Given some of the charlatans we’ve had in recent years who are just here to pick up their next pay cheque this should be a refreshing change!
Not the most gifted footballer by any means but will always give 100% and a very solid signing. We need more of this type in our dressing room.
Good start.

Rare that I comment on new players, largely because I almost never know anything about them. One of the points Phil made the other night though was that we need to have players here who want to be here. Players with the right attitude. I don’t know the guy, but comments like “I’d want him by my side in a battle” are the sort of comments that give me some belief that we are heading in the right direction. Quietly optimistic.

I can’t say I know too much about him but Luton friends not losing sleep or jumping for joy he’s gone
General feedback is he is a sensible, steady signing for a low end Championship team - ultimately what we are - or too half league 1. Their view only.
Played most football below this level but 2 seasons in his prime at Championship level in a better defence than we’ve had
Nothing wrong with a no nonsense defender - music to my ears that he says he wants to defend first after last seasons centre half signing!
Hopefully Carlos understands this and plays to his strengths - key is does Carlos know what he’s got / use appropriately
Important we get bulk of our players in early - can’t get much earlier than this

We live and learn.
Defenders who can play quality football and be rock solid cost an arm and a leg.
I’d much rather get two ‘proper’ centre backs with the passing ability of Lee Sinnott & Pat Scully but who keep us tight at the back.
With Vallejo playing like a young Pirlo in the anchor position we will be fine.

Never heard of the bloke until now but from the clips linked on here, he reminds me a bit of Sean Morrison, who would be just the type of player we need right now.

We’ve had too many players of late who think the odd free kick or flick here and there constitutes a shift. Much rather a centre half of lesser ability who will always give 100% than some of the strollers we’ve had playing for us in recent times whilst picking up thousands in wages.

To quote others this looks like a solid signing - no fee and no risk that he can’t play at this level Id argue he's probably a few years away from his prime for a CB these days Have a good feeling about this one. Could be a hogg type figure

Listening to his interview he seems the solid heart of a defence you need in any team especially in the Championship. He constantly stressed his job is to keep goals out not create them at the other end which is assume what he was told when we went to recruit him. Built like a tank a take no prisoners attitude is something every team needs at this level and I for one am very happy we got this guy in, especially so early in the window
Well chuffed with this signing and hopefully many more to come who want to play for the team, not take home a fat pay check for doing sod all. We have had far too many wasted signings in the last few years who came for the money and not the team, which is where most of the money went, down the drain on overpaid no balls players who had no stomach for the fight.

Well, I hope he plays as well as he comes across in the interview. Got the looks of a commando hero in a war comic, appears sincere and reliable and you'll see him where the action is. This is more than typified in the fact that he's played nigh on every game for 3 seasons or so. If this guy gets injured soon into the season, then I'll start to wonder if someone up there doesn't like us. Either that or the training techniques used will have to come under scrutiny. He'll be 28 by the time the season starts, so basically in his prime I'd say. Good signing, hopefully.

You just can’t help bringing your little rain cloud to proceedings can you? Just saying like. Im not sure if you are being serious, I can’t tell these days. But if you are, ‘just saying’ Boothy, Stewart, Mooy, Schindler etc just run around like headless chickens and enter Town folklore you are wrong. Why can’t people just wait and see, rather than the negativity which has ruined our club for the last 3 years.

Happy with that. Looks like a player that gives his all and we need that desperately. Don’t think he’ll be a starter but adds much needed depth 👍🏼 I think you may be disappointed then, he's played virtually the whole season in a team that's finished way above us, the team with the worst defensive record in the league, but you don't think he'll be a starter? Surely, as it currently is, he'd walk into our team? Do you think we'll sign 2 more CBs? I think we’ll sign another CB definitely, possibly another one too. He would get into our team at the moment as he’s the only player we’ve signed 😂 It depends if CC goes to his back 3 formation that he’s played a few times.

He's probably what we need, two years ago we got bullied at corners and set pieces and conceded a boat load from them, adding Sarr last year helped big time and now Pearson should really help us you would think. Its not a fashionable signing but could be a shrewd one.

CB is the easiest position to play there is, To be effective you just hack, chop, kick, headbut, elbow or simply smack 'em.....Just like a normal Friday night in Holmfirth...
