He’s from Keighley too, so a chance to move back to where he’s from.

Solid but uninspiring signing if that’s the case.

They kept 14 clean sheets in the games he played this season in the Championship.

Solid but uninspiring signing if that’s the case. We need exactly a few of this type of player at the back, instead of the soft breed we have had in recent years. Time to toughen up that leaky defence if you ask me!

Solid but uninspiring signing if that’s the case. is it only me who wouldn’t find this signing “uninspiring”? In the context of us being in the PL a few years ago maybe but out of the players we’ve been linked to since then it’s definitely one of the more inspiring ones IMO. Solid, championship class and in his prime center back.

Chicken reckons Carlos will play 3-4-3, so maybe they can play together - one central and one on the left of a three.

Not seen much of him. But seems solid. We have potentially lost 4 centre half’s from the squad. It’s like some folk expect us to be signing Harry maguire

Story you've linked says, "Pearson, like Rarmani Edmonds-Green, has played as a defensive right-back on occasions but would be signed as a centre-back." One of you & Mr Hartrick is wrong.

Story you've linked says, "Pearson, like Rarmani Edmonds-Green, has played as a defensive right-back on occasions but would be signed as a centre-back." One of you & Mr Hartrick is wrong. I got that from Wikipedia. But looking on FM 21, suggests he's right sided and can play right back. Eitehr way, looks like someone who could be deployed as back up to either first choice fullback, which we know we need. "Pearson made his Barnsley debut, where he started the whole game, in a 4–3 win over Morecambe on 8 August 2017.[50] Seven days later on 15 August 2017, he scored his first goal for Barnsley in a 2–1 win against Nottingham Forest.[51] Since then, Pearson found himself in and out of the first team, due to strong competitions and played in the left-back position as a result.[52] This also combined with his own injury concern.[53]" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matty_Pearson

It’s like some folk expect us to be signing Harry maguire Problem is ( like with goalkeepers) the way we play out from the back means that a Centre Half has also got to be good on the ball. Personally, I’d prefer us to have a tough uncompromising player ( like Peter Clarke) but it’s not as easy as that anymore.

I’ve heard Ruben Dias is available for the right money. 😂 I’ve no idea if this lad can play a bit or not. But like I say we’ve lost 4 centre half’s. Let’s not start dismissing the signings before we’ve seen them

I think looks a decent signing on the face of it.Played nearly all their promotion season and almost ever present the two since came up.By few bits Iv seen plenty Luton fans say has improved over last couple years both positionally, decision making wise and also on the ball.I don’t think Carlos is asking the centre halves to be messi when have the ball but just to be comfortable having it and make the right decisions when they do. Think can be fairly certain he will be solid defensively and I would half expect another centre half to come in to start alongside to be honest, sarr not to play as many games,he’s decent sarr but it’s the decision making that let’s him down and ultimately puts his other centre half in bother too. Chips in with a few goals does Pearson also by the looks.Happy enough with the signing in a key area this summer.
Just to add to this another starting centre half for me would have to have a fair amount of pace to complement a Pearson type.I know we have reg just feel would still need another season been rotated in and out of the side.

Would be a good signing from what I can see. Would like to see us build some youth and long term players in the squad along with - what will be needed - some loans from the PL across a few positions through the starting lineup

I’d like to think I’m intelligent enough not dismiss a player I know absolutely nothing about!

One of the 4 pre contract agreed Signings do we think? No5 Excellent. Glad we're getting business done early because we need the players to hit the ground running next season. They'll need time to adjust to Carlos' way aswell.

He's a stopper.. we dont need every centre back to be a silky ball carrier who can spray passes about. We need aggression just as much as anything in this squad. Vallejo could be very useful next season
Good business done already. on to the next

Hardly fills you with confidence when Luton fans talk about him being ok as back up if he stayed as they have better at the club already.
Hopefully just sour grapes
