I recognise I'm on dangerous ground, because I don't like PH's shirt and therefore I'm now just a Vapid Consumer rather than a supporter (...50+ years, 136 grounds and all those miles up the M1 mean f*** all it seems)... .....& PH doesn't like people taking his comments literally (?seriously?).... ...but when he said only two injuries were caused in training? (Arrons & Ward) Is that correct? This suggests not and what about Danny Grant, Niasse & Toffolo (& if I'd been guessing a few others). Whose memory is going? Happy to be put straight if I'm wrong, I'm a consumer from outside the area these days (so may miss out on facts). linkPS Decent interview but (as others have suggested) a bit too similar to others we've had previously that don't look great in hindsight for my own vapid consuming liking. Didnt Niasse get injured in some strange freaky accident like tripping over in the car park? And I Toffolo had been playing with a niggle and and I think when he got sent off they investigated further and found it was a more serious issue. Maybe, PH was referring to injuries tgat were caused directly by training methods and its intensity, as opposed to being kicked etc whilst playing practice matches etc. Which had nothing to do with the actual training regime.? I dont know, just speculating. Someone fell on Niasse in a practice match

I’m not Phil’s biggest fan by any means, simply due to his lies and the behaviour he displayed going on social media calling out fans. However, the only thing he can do about the past is to learn from it (as well as apologising which I don’t think will happen).
The interview was informative and timely. I also think a big well done to Oggy who pushed Phil on a few issues as he clearly cannot push too much or the club will cease to be as forthcoming to them in the future if they feel they have overstepped the mark.
I’m prepared to give Phil the benefit of the doubt and to look ahead positively. I liked the fact there is a focus on improving both attacking and in defence as that is all we can aim for, to improve week on week and build something however long it takes. If he can deliver a squad that care and want to represent the club with pride and passion, a team that are exciting to watch and we can compete without financially jeopardising the club then I don’t think we can ask for much more.
Does Phil come across as likeable and charming? No. Does he have crap taste in clothes? Yes. Do I trust him 100%? No. Would I be pleased he is running the club if he delivers the above? Yes!

UTT Agree on all of that. Thought Oggy was good in the interview, too. You can tell he reads DATM, describing money received for transfers as a useful addition to Phil's 'pot'. 😉

Yes Oggy was good, he usually dances round a subject but he asked some really direct questions and PH answered them in a calm and measured way.

I listened to this yesterday. I remain not entirely convinced that lessons will be learned. He seemed to blame the bad results and poor displays on injuries alone and all this about stripping the club back because of people here who don't want to play in my eyes isn't quite true. The squad has been decimated to fund the repayments of the take over deal . Think about it Phil couldn't have become chairman and Dean get his money back without relegation. What would you think as a player if you heard that was the plan? I make no wonder so many players became disinterested. He made some good points but at the end of the day he's on a damage limitation exercise.

I agree we need to see whether we make quality signings that improve the squad, but what I cannot understand is why PH says things that are clearly untrue thereby making people question the validity of the whole interview. Eg no transfer news until June

Eg no transfer news until June It will be marsh on FM or champ manager telling him because it's 30th June before you can sign/announce players on there

That obviously came through yesterday from Luton as Cardiff announced a player from them also.

Being relegated brought about parachute payments, but they were also required to cover the massively increased wage bill that would be totally unsustainable otherwise. TV money in Championship is around 7M a tear compared to minimum of 100M year in Prem If we were still prem, they could have financed a deal like Burnley have just done. Or for arguments sake, PH could have agreed to pay DH £15m a year and accept the club would "only" have a min of 85m a year to fund the club. Why the hell would getting a lot less money per year for 3 years be in any way be desirable?

True story, I worked for a company in the 90s who's recruitment was based on RAW IQ test scores, If you didnt score above 130 you didnt get a job... Anyone who was above 140 was automatically selected. 130-140 they went through a normal recruitment process. The place was like an asylum. Supernovak starting a post with 'true story' 😂😂😂 You couldn't make this shit up.. Well actually he can 😂 I can’t imagine the IQ required to make such shit up. Perhaps it's approaching 70 as below that is classed as mentally retarded?

Was just trying to be facetious playing the narrative 👍 Hopefully that becomes the case with the others lined up.

So why not be honest and say we have some pre contract agreements in place but will only be allowed to go public when the previous club agrees.

They only agreed to sign yesterday when Phil promised to throw in one of his shirts as part of the deal.

A few people get carried away when a microphone is put in front of them, but Phil goes into overdrive. He has a thankless task, but I think he's trying to get people back that play for the shirt.🤭

Those chumps at Paddypower have done it again. How much did they pay us for him wearing that shirt?

So why not be honest and say we have some pre contract agreements in place but will only be allowed to go public when the previous club agrees. The issue is that if you announce pre-season agreements then the former club 'tends' to not pay the player for May and June, so players, or more likely their agents, ask that nothing is announced until pay has been met or guaranteed.

If I must. Phil was checking style over substance. Million Dollar Babies was an album by Alice Cooper. School's Out was a hit single for Alice Cooper
