The other point which I think is valid is that we have a squad riddled with inexperience. The Championship is a bloody tough league - we need some battle hardened pro’s in our squad. Battle hardened, Jordan Rhodes ?. I grant you that he can put the ball in the net, but workrate or battle are not what I would associate with him. I'm just not sure he can play Carlos ball. Outside the box he brings nothing , up front on his own. Not for me.

Unfortunately I got the shit news last night. Now trying to think of something else to do on a Saturday afternoon ☹️ You could spend your Saturdays going on DATM and commenting on every Jordan Rhodes thread about how you won't get a season ticket whilst the 8th highest scorer in our history is playing for the club? Sorry for answering someone who mentioned me. So fucking what if he's the 8th highest scorer. That was 10 fucking years ago. He's done fuck all for 5 or 6 years and can't play the system CC wants.

Can’t be annoyed at this one of my favourite ever players returning and one of the best finishers we’ve seen.
Give him service and he will score he’s shown glimpses of it in a depleted Wednesday side

I don't think I would ever use that phrase to describe him. I think he is more softened. Campbell is more battle hardened and has a far better work rate. It's been years since he had a good season which rules out no manager has played to his strengths, and he has just helped Wednesday go down with a whimper. I would be amazed if the other supposed interest was from any decent championship club. It will be like ward where we had to fight off the mighty Rotherham. My guess this time is that we have bravely tussled with Ipswich or Peterborough for his coveted signature.

Rhodes and Ward with Holmes in behind. What’s not to love?
Maybe Bromby’s not a Director of Football at all but a performance artist, and all this is just a conceptual art piece about the futility of life as a Huddersfield Town fan.

Might as well sign Steve Bull. He was prolific once upon a time too.

I was using the term taking into account the Pearson singing as well. Point taken but Rhodes certainly adds experience to our squad.

He gets the ball and scores a goal Jordan, Jordan Rhodes. Happy to have him back, some players just suit a club. This is it, can see him doing well, we’ll be right behind him, and that will be big for him.

Weird isn’t it? We sign a centre-back no one has ever heard of and people are basically having a wank. Sign one of the best goalscorers we’ve ever had on the back of not having had anyone scoring since he left and people are throwing their teddies out! Would you have been wanking yourself thrice daily if 2 yrs back you were told we would have Ward, Holmes and Rhodes potentially all in the starting lineup in 2021

It's like one of those workplace incentives where if you recommend a mate you get £500 so you recruit all the old idiots you used to know for a bit of extra cash. Bromby's on for a bonus here!

Only town fans could Diss a guy who scored 40 goals in a season for us. Can he still score goals ? Let's see . Have his "legs gone " ? Did he ever have legs in the first place ? I'm happy to see how this pans out .

Now if only we could resign Rajiv Van La Parra. He was past it when he was still here. Its no surprise that he's on his third club in the last 18 months and on a downward spiral.

Best finisher we’ve had in my lifetime. Would have scored 15 with the amount of chances Campbell missed last season. Can't even begin to argue with your two points. ....but can you justify a THREE year contract? .....because I'm struggling and after Danny Ward / Duane Holmes I'm beginning to wonder if the approach is correct? PS ...Of course a massive wage cut has had to be involved as well.... If it’s either loads of money that uses up a big part of the budget combined with a short contract, or reasonable money that fits with what we’ve budgeted over a longer deal, which do you prefer?

Maybe the plan will be to bring him on with say 20 mins to go to nick a goal, when the hard running has been done by Campbell?

Reminds of when we signed Andy Payton. Will win you a few games just because he can finish but that’s your lot. The rest of the team will have to work a bit harder. As long as he is a bit part or a coming off the bench type then it might be an ok signing. Surely not a regular

I just don't see how he suits the system Carlos wants to play Maybe carlos is tweaking his style a little. We've just signed a CB that sounds to have plenty of plus points but being comfortable on the ball and playing out from the back isn't supposedly one of them.
