Excellent news. I'm feeling a little more encouraged about the upcoming season.

More than covered at centre back now, surely no risk of Keogh playing anymore. I wasn't so sure about it as an idea when he was rumoured as he's very young, but the more I've seen the more I'm excited by it, looks like a very good young player. Left sided as well so that should put Sarr on the bench.

Good luck son, enjoy Yorkshire & prove you're ready for the step up, coming here was a great move for Chilwell & ESR, make it a hat-trick.

Surely young players who have chance to come to us, should look how chilwell and ESR have done by coming to us. Maybe a reason premier League clubs send youth players to us

With the financial implications if you don’t play Premier League, I’d guess also he’s not just here to make up the numbers.

the first signing we've made where I'm 100% confident it will be a good signing. Lets hope he's as good as Chelsea fans are claiming he is.

Great loan. Although someone needs to tell him Huddersfield’s not a city or nice. Two things I picked from the interview 😉😂

Seen that Chelsea fans have nothing but praise for the lad, hope he helps turn our defense around.
Very happy with the signing.

not that I would stalk him or anything, but does the club own any property for these loan lads, or will parent clubs sort out where they live?

I do think a back 3 makes so much more sense in terms of balancing the team, our full backs play so high up so there's so much responsibility and so little room for error playing essentially 2 defenders in a building-from-the-back style. We have a good array of options now in that position, everyone offers something a little bit different. Pearson seems like the big physical no-nonsense defender we needed at times last season, Colwill looks like a very classy ball player, REG isn't bad on the ball either, Sarr is just Sarr, Vallejo was excellent on the right of a back 3 against Swansea last season, Turton can apparently play there too. As long as Crichlow and Olagunju get decent loans we look to be in a very good situation at centre back this season and going forward.

I think people dismiss what a good defender Sarr actually is ( tackling, blocking, winner headers, muscling forwards off the ball etc ) because of how poor he can be when he has the ball at his feet. Personally think we needed cover for the role and this lad offers it. If he's better than that, then all well and good.

Hope he is as good as people seem to expect.
I’m always a little unsure about these type of loans. Only 18 and hasn’t played any senior football. At least ESR had played in the Europe league and bundesliga and Chalobah had played in the championship before us.
Not trying to pour any cold water over this signing, I’ll just reserve judgement until I’ve seen him. It doesn’t automatically follow that he will be a good player just because he is at Chelsea.

Good luck to him. Big step up from playing U23s but every player has to do it at some stage & Chelsea clearly view him as a big talent for the future.
Chilwell came in & played like a seasoned pro after only making a few cup appearances for Leicester beforehand, hope this lad can make a similar impression.

Two things I picked from the interview 😉😂 Though I don’t live in Huddersfield runner I have to say in visiting for long weekends in the last 10 years including the football that I’ve never had a bad experience in the town. Ok it may be different for permanent residents and every town will have issues locally that folks like me don’t see or experience but as a seasoned traveller in the UK and Ireland I have to say Huddersfield is one of the best I’ve been to !

I think the opposite in every way regarding Sarr, he has his moments defensively as much as when he's on the ball, and has the ability to play some great long passes. His inability to judge the trajectory of the ball both in crosses and balls in behind is such a massive weakness. Can be as solid as anything on a good day but will never be a calming presence in the defence like Schindler or a galvanising one like Hefele.

I expect the terms of the loan will stipulate how much first team action he gets. Whether that's "give him plenty of game time" (as in the rumour re: Danny Ward when people on here were clamouring for Joel Coleman to get the shirt - how short are peoples' memories on that BTW?) or "don't over-stretch him" (as in ESR) I don't know. Either way, it will be interesting to see how he's used.
