Just regarding Mel’s post - there are no laws to stop you saying whatever you wish but there are laws that determine the consequences.
I could literally write anything I want right now, there is no law to stop me, just laws to define the punishment. Granted, it could be deleted immediately but it didn’t stop me.

Absolutely fooking pricelessly ridiculous behaviour from the admins. Oti is like marmite, and he pushes a log of people's buttons but FFS have some conscience and give him a break. The bloke's in his final yards of his life...shame on the decision makers...even if he has flouted the 'rules' who caresI know. They're only bloody rules FFS. I plan on poking fun at people with debilitating and/or terminal illnesses tomorrow daytime, maybe indulge in a bit of light antisemitism in the late evening, before dropping an unsolicited dick pic in everyone's inbox just in time for bed. If people don't like that then they can just scroll past or read something else, because one day I'll die. |

Anybody with any sense knows the difference between genuine but sometimes controversial/unsavory opnion and purposely insulting and abusing somebody in an horrible manner just to cause trouble and upset.
If someone subjected you`re wife/girlfriend/children/mum/dad to unprovoked heinous abuse you wouldnt think 'oh they`re only using freedom of speech', you`d just want to kick that persons head in.

He could have been banned 10 times over with some of the stuff he's said. He's been let off countless times because of his condition, yet he keeps on pushing. There is absolutely no need to post something like this, other than to stir things and beg for attention: Is that what he's been given a ban for?? Jesus wept. I dont agree with it at all but its just his opinion and he's allowed it. Or at least he should be. That opinion is one shared with most of the worlds population I would imagine, certainly in religious parts ( which is most of it ) What happened to just disagreeing with someone? I hear what youre saying, and I think its crap. Now its I hear what yore saying, and I will stop you being able to say it because I think its crap. Silencing of opinions is fascism isn't it? |

Once you start to decide what is allowed and not allowed then you are biased and we all have to abide by the admins sense of right and wrong, which in itself is wrong as what one person deems offensive (sick of typing that word) another may not. So ultimately it’s a board that has rules applied by 3 people and their personal beliefs will supersede anything else. |

I have to say,I did always read his stuff. Like it or not, I did always read it. He was worth following as his stories etc were just just stories. To me anyway.Whatever he put in with regard to real life, I could take with a pinch of salt.I have met him on numerous occasions watching Town away and found him to be a good bloke.This forum is not going to be worth looking at soon. You admins give your heads a shake and sort out this silliness.In fact take a good look at yourselves. Very poor I reckon this ban

Admin starts a thread asking how we stop racism in football and general - Education is deemed the answer. Couple of days later they're banning 'racists' from the forum. Priceless. The same admin who's repeatedly called the soon to be banned poster a 'c***'. |

The same admin who's repeatedly called the soon to be banned poster a 'c***'. Not technically true. I've called him a c*** once, and received a yellow for it. I.iasued the card to myself despite other admins requesting and recommending i simply retract, such was my strength of feeling at the time. I've subsequently defended my right to call a c*** a c*** as long as i accept rhe punishment on more than one occasion, but not directly called him a c*** since. And I did not get a vote in the decision to ban him, as clearly that would be open to accusations of bias. Having reviewed the logs, oti was given a yellow card in the past for calling fomosexuality deviant, and warned that to repeat that would result in further sanctions. He was also on his final warning (about his 12th final warning) and chose to repeat this view, doubling down on it. Whether you agree with the rules or not, he had been warned about exactly the wording and behaviour he used and still chose to use it. That's on him. He chose to post his views with scant regard for the potential consequences to himself, of which he as fully aware, or (more importantly) for any homosexual members of this site who he was denigrating with his words. His illness is sad, but irrelevant. I have list immediate family members to cancer, and watched my wife fight it. That fact does/did not give them carte blanche to behave as they saw fit. Oti first told us of his illness in 2015. On the six years since he could have been banned for life several times over. He took the leniency and pity he was shown and continued to break the rules. I am currently serving a social media bam of my own because I broke the rules of the site. It happens. It's part and parcel of the way these things work. And I guarantee we moderate this site much more leniency and empathy than Facebook or Twitter. I wish him well with his health, and would rather it hadn't come to this. But he is, as he is find of telling us, highly intelligent and worldly wise. He knew this was coming. He's probably enjoying the attention, reading this as a guest . |

That is actually against the law, as some people are now finding out. If media companies policed their systems it could be stopped. This is our admins policing the message board they offered to help maintain and I support them. So the rules to stop it don't exist or aren't in place. The rules are in place. You can also drive at 150mph up Halifax Road or murder someone if you'd really like to. |

I know this because when I signed up for this forum I agreed, the same as everyone else, to stay within certain boundaries when posting. I have once or twice strayed from that agreement and was fairly punished, just like Otium has been. I've no idea about the second half of your post. Not anything to do with me 🤷🏻♂️ |

He hasn't directly called an individual, who may be homosexual, deviant has he? It's a tad over sensitive to be having to ban someone for an opinion that hasn't broken any laws of the land let alone a chuffing football forum.
