I made a number of enquiries about the St George's Square painting but nobody ever told me where I could see it.
Is it still for sale? Where can I see it please?

Having been a huge supporter of this I am now back-tracking furiously as I find it incredibly difficult to navigate. It really needs an easy-to-use SEARCH facility. Sorry HTSA.

Time for a slice of humble pie - there IS a SEARCH facility, although it is rather rudimentary. One of the people behind the site has contacted me to explain and I am happy to print a partial retraction. 😊
It's there in the three lines menu at the top right of the screen. And in John Ward's Private Archive there is a SEARCH window at the bottom of every section, although it's not very good as it doesn't seem to cope particularly well with handwritten documents. Heigh ho.
We have to bear in mind that the people who run the site are all young people who have proper jobs. This is an extra to be updated and improved as and when they have spare time, which really isn't all that often.
Anyway, it is still a site worthy of any fan interested in the history of our great club, so you should definitely pop in and give it a shot. 👍

A lot of people won't like me saying it - or them admitting it - but your stuff is always a most excellent read, Lee.

This season's first (and perhaps only?) former player interview on behalf of the HTSA Heritage Project. This interview is with Brian Tickell, who played for the club between 1956 and 1959. He was Bill Shankly's first signing for the club and was good friends (and housemates) with Denis Law. Read below:

The club have published a previous HTSA Heritage Project interview today. This one is with former Town player, Simon Collins, who played for us between 1992 and 1997. www.htafc.com/news/2023/august/interview-simon-collins/Out of interest, I did this interview not long before Warnock returned so it was a nice irony that it appeared in the programme for his first game back in charge as Collins speaks so highly of him in the interview.

An excellent read, Lee, and a bonus is that it contains the oft-quoted "Jamie Vardy story". I hadn't realised that Collins was his manager back then!

This is one from the archives, but as the 82nd anniversary of Bob Gordon's death is approaching, I thought I'd share it again. Bob Gordon played for Town between 1936 and 1940 but passed away during World War Two. This article all started after a chance conversation with Graham Bailey, his former teammate and pal, who started reminiscing about him when he I went to visit him in June 2022. Graham is 103 now and our oldest living player by some years. htafc-heritage.com/posts/71/war-broke-out-the-diaries-of-town-player-robert-bob-gordon

What horrendous juxtaposition of the innocence of youth, the hope of a young man in achieving his dream and the utter waste of war.

Part 2 of the Tony Carss interview can be seen below. This focuses on his time with the club's Academy. Another great article mate, cheers.

More players from that 2003-04 promotion season, a title winning captain, the scorer of a promotion winning goal, some cult heroes, members of the 1973-74 youth team and possibly even a player from last season's "Great Escape". With over 1000 players having played for us, I have my work cut out to cover all the ones still living!

Hi there htafcokay I've been trying to contact the HTSA Heritage via email but with no success. Maybe you'd like to check your messages on here as I left a copy of my email for you. I've got some material that might be of interest. Thanks

Steve Spriggs will be tomorrow's interview, the first member of the 1973-74 youth team to be interviewed this season. At least two more of his teammates from that team have been interviewed and these will be published later in the season.

really like these ex-player interviews. especially if its a player who wasnt a 'star' name ( Id never heard of Tickell) ...makes it more interesting somehow to hear that perspective.
