When he was appointed, I said we needed to back him, because that's generally what you do with a new manager, but after about three games I realised he wasn't the man for the job. Called for his sacking before the World Cup break and continued to do so until he was sacked in February. The Watford match was the straw that broke the camel's back, where we looked worse after the WC break than we looked before it. We were an absolute disgrace and I told him after their second goal and then again after the game. But yeah, he's "my man". |

I genuinely feel a bit guilty for highlighting the comments about Mr Moss yesterday as it seems to have created a bit of, unnecessary, conflict among a couple of people.
I do think we have to move on but what happened that day will long live in the memories of all Town fans. The arguments about the quality of the game, the tactics and team selection all have merit but in a tight game there were two key decisions that many, many, people thought were incorrect. Get either of those decisions, noting that had we got the first the second is unlikely to have happened, and the game could have changed significantly. The fact that VAR was available only made the sense of injustice more felt.
We can't do anything about it but I understand why people still feel so passionate about what happened. Any fan of any club who had suffered in such a big game, in the a similar way, will always look back with a degree of bitterness.
Longer term we need to look forward and look to give ourselves another opportunity again.

So are you saying penalties don't count in football matches? Yes forest did score and Town could have possibly scored twice had the system in place not cheated us...yes moss for whatever reason didn't give either decision, but there was var in play to stop such mistakes yet they didn't do their job properly either!! Regardless of open play they should have been 2 penalties given! All the papers said it was a disgrace and their captain thanked Jon moss at their civic reception pissin themselves laughing on the Town Hall steps!! Are you saying that penalties are an automatic goal? For all we know, we could have missed them. Keep your powder dry, things like this tend to swing around in football and in the coming years, I'm sure we'll have our opportunity to get one over on Forest. I got over it as soon as I left Wembley. Things never swing around in football, that's just a referees way of making light of the shocking decisions that they make. |

The disdain for Forest, for Moss, Tierney et al will fade away eventually.
But it’s just another pointer as to where the game is heading. Everything is fine if you’re a big city club with pots of money or a media darling (I’m looking at you here Wrexham), but beyond those clubs you’ll just be collateral damage when your club gets the shitty end of the stick like we did at Wembley.

As opposed to Forests 2 on target, the 25 yard pea rollers straight into Nicholls arms. They no more deserved to win the game than us. They had the first half, we had the 2nd half. But maybe the little fat card shouldn't be commenting and apologising on penalty decisions after the way he reffed that game 🤷 Anyway, we've been through this before. We won't agree on it 😁 It was the worst game of football I've ever witnessed, but Forest did the job, they actually scored. We didn't & never came close to scoring. Blame Moss all you want but the man to blame wasn't the referee. The man to blame wasn't the refereree. Did I just read that correctly? Were you at the match? Did you hear many of the pundits? Did you see the replays? Did you hear commiserations from fans of other teams who were as disgusted as us? Did you read match reports such as the one in the Telegraph? Did you see the social media clips of their players laughingly singing about/praising the referee? Are you really a Town fan? Are you a wind up merchant? |
