I would go strong, try and stop the rot before confidence drains away from the players, the manager and the fans. Does anyone know what 'strong' is with respect to this squad? |

With the long winter break, there is no excuse for not playing our strongest team. They owe the supporters that much. However, I am sure there are differences of opinion on what the strongest team is. Long winter break, but a very short summer break. Especially for any sides who competed in the playoff final. Also for those of us advocating the use of fringe players, it's not just about preventing tiredness in first team regulars, but also knocking a bit of rust off fringe players, getting new signings bedded onto our way of playing and giving first team experience to youngsters. Had we stuck to the tried and tested for cup games last season, we'd never have brought through Jon Russell, for instance. |

These types of games where we're in bad form reminds me of what otium used to say in these situations: We always rotate when it's the perfect opportunity to give the first 11 a chance to click in a low pressure environment. I'm not sure I completely agree, but it's worth considering.
I think players who are low on confidence or have started slowly may benefit in particular, but then again the backups should have a chance to prove themselves.

This game has Siewert vs Lincoln vibes I was thinking the same thing. Seem to remember Jan playing a majority second string side and we got completely battered by a hungry Lincoln side. Difference is that we were a newly relegated premier league team against a newly promoted league one club. I think Preston will be coming into this game with much the same attitude as ourselves. Personally think we probably need to see the likes of Danny Grant, Will Boyle and one or two others have a start in this match and might as well rest Lees, Hogg, Ward. |

I'm half tempted to suggest Rhodes and Ward start up front together, purely due to the chaos they would cause.

I've just been online to get a ticket for tomorrow and the stadium seating plan is showing about 95% of seats still available.
If I knew how to post a screenshot of the plan on on here I would - but unless there's a massive surge in sales tomorrow I'd be surprised if there were 2000 home fans in.
I hope I've got it totally wrong,but it looks like ground could be almost empty.

I think this is our strongest XI right now assuming Nakayama is as good as reported, get Sorba at RWB/RM again and allow Anjorin + Rudoni to roam and be creative between the lines.
