…and, it has been reported, shelled out £1.5M on the gamble That is a million miles off the mark. £500,000 salary and £1,000,000 bonus was reported. If it is wrong, I bow to your superior knowledge (I have none)

never understood the 'tarnished the legacy' theory.
What is the legacy? Surely its where the club was..what the club did whilst he was here and where hes leaving the club when he goes.
In 2008 it was in mid league 1, average gate of 9000, with a team worth nothing, a club owning nothing, training out of portakabins at a college.
Even if you ignore all the achievements, memories, international players etc, the 'legacy'.. the difference between 2008 and now, is still there and shouting out what a great owner hes been.

I'm sure there will be some that can't get over their shallow vendettas against Dean, but the fact is this, he transformed the club, took it to places we never dreamt possible, and spent a lot of money along the journey. Hopefully he's remembered as the great Chairman and owner he has been, and hopefully the next guy is prepared to put as much on the line for Huddersfield Town, as Dean has done. That’s a summary I’d concur with.

If i make 2 shocking appointments and turn a top 3 side into a bottom 3 side - then realise I need to pay for a proper manager to save us at the last minute does that make me a genius/hero? It was a last throw of the dice made because of all of the previous errors You do realise that he appointed a director of football to do things like choose players and managers?

People really need to let bygones be bygones. Yes Dean messed up big style, he also overachieved big style. We are in a better place then we were at the start of this horrific season with the fantastic job Neil and Jeppo have done. We are also in a better position then when Dean first took over. Lets move on and look to the next chapter !!
I never thought I would see town in the prem, so for that alone thank you Dean, but I for one cannot wait for the new chapter to begin.

…and, it has been reported, shelled out £1.5M on the gamble I’d suspect it will be the club that’s paying for this, most likely after the new owners in place. I’m happy that our survival hasn’t ended his reign with a relegation and obviously he appointed NW but it’s Neil that deserves the credit imo.

I don't care if it was £2.5m. (It wasn't) It wasn't my money and I think it was worth it.

Hopefully we can all move on. Never known a season like it on here, the amount of disagreements, arguing, bickering, fall-outs. Be this about Hoyle, Fotheringham, some of the signings, Phil, heck even Warnock had his distracters. I agree though, time to move on. I have one, maybe two posters blocked. Other than that, I have no ongoing issue with any poster, regardless of if we have exchanged differences of opinion or not. At the end of the day, we all love this Club and can all forget that sometimes. A lot to look forward to, I am not expecting anything major, I am sure though next season will be a lot more stable and less contentious. Both on and off the pitch!.

Here we are having witnessed one of the greatest escapes from the clutches of relegation, and all you can do is moan about DH. Mistakes have been made, but we move on unlike you who constantly on here have a dig at the club. If you don’t like it find another club to support!

This season has been coming - everything finally came to a head after years of poor management and poor ownership with some terrible luck thrown in there. Carlos curbed it for one season but it's been coming. Warnock has performed wonders and allowed our fresh start to be in the Championship when I believe many of us had accepted it would be in League One. Let's hope our new era puts us on the same trajectory that Dean did when he first came in.

See the euphoria is already wearing off and the miserable fkers are starting to re-state their points.
"Years of poor management...and ownership"
6 years ago - promoted to the PL 5 years ago - survived in the PL Last year - missed out on promotion to the PL on some very questionable decisions.
So ignoring what happened a couple of days back, that's 3 very, very successful years for a club of Huddersfield Town's standing
Sio, I like you, you're a good lad, but you've had a fkin mare here.

Bloody hell G I was actually trying to be balanced and put a lid on it. I'm definitely not going to drag this out into another endless debate but the last few years of how Town have been run is incredibly well documented. You know what I'm referring to. We can move past it and hope for some passion and optimism around the club to come back (which Warnock has absolutely done, too).

I take it you still work for the BBC if you think that was balanced... Lets leave it there, Dean's a fkin legend for everything he did right and wrong for the club, at the end of the day he walks away out of pocket, with the club in a good position, and he has his health, which I'd imagine has been his main priority for several years.

Can't help but think that DH could write a great autobiography. Boy brought up by his grandmother from nothing and becomes a multi-millionaire. Takes over the ailing football club that he supported as a boy. Takes them from the third tier to Premier League and keeps them there for two seasons. Suffers life-threatening illness and it all turns bad with the wrong people appointed. Saves the club again. Finishes with one of the greatest relegation survival stories ever seen in English football.
If that's not a best seller, I don't know what is.
