It’s time we had a positive thread and a thank you to Dean for some of the best years ever to be a town fan. We really need to celebrate what Dean has done for the club over the years and somehow recognise his achievements as our “custodian” today is a sad day for the club in lots of ways it can also be a positive day for the club if we can get a new owner in with the same passion that Dean has had.
Times need to change and Health has to come first, even now Dean won’t screw the club and will keep us afloat until a new owner is found I am sure of this.
We need a DH / Hogg testimonial some sort of occasion to say “thank you for the memories”
For me some of the best memories are - first pedal for pounds (and all the charity events after) - Buying everyone a pint at a couple of away games - promotion to Premier league - away at Crystal Palace and for a few hours top of the premier league. - the atmosphere created in the ground from clappers to promotions to fill the ground.
Take a bow Dean and thank you for the memories, good luck and good health in the future and you are always welcome at the ground to watch the team you and we all love.
we will always have “No limits” and always “believe”

Years ago at the old Leeds rd ground i asked a lad stood with us "do you think we'll ever play in the premier league", he said "no" and i couldnt really disagree, we moved to a lovely new stadium and peoples imaginations began to come alive, we got promotion and then relegation and DH took over, a couple of near misses before enventually seeing us promoted back to the championship, most thought it was as good as it was going to get but not so, we reached the prem and played host to some of the biggest clubs in Europe if not the world, irrespective of club politics and arguments on here he engineered a dream that actually came to fruition.

Thanks Dean You can not fault someone who gives their all, I have no doubts you have both physically and mentally not to mention the millions. They may be more or less proficient built that isn't important. The trips to Wembley, Chelsea for my 60th and the win over Manu will never fade Walking back to the car and 10 000 plus still rocking the john smiths 20 minutes after the final whistle was priceless UTT

Thanks DH, the win alone against Manure was priceless and the trips to Wembley you took us from obscurity and made us a Premier league club. Thanks for everything Dean

100%. Really getting quite annoyed at some on the responses to Dean selling, especially on Twitter. People celebrating like he’s constantly put us in danger and not actually contributed massive amounts every year to running the club whilst allowing us to watch football in an affordable way and giving us some great memories in the process. A thankless task and hasn’t got everything right but nobody would.
Thank you Dean

Hopefully his health improves and his 14 year stint is, in time, remembered fondly. It should be as he helped to get us a hell of a lot further than we all realistically thought we would.
The sniping over the years has been undignified and unnecessary.
He made many mistakes but he got a hell of a lot right too and took us all along with him on the ride.
I hope he has a long and eventful 'retirement' and stays healthy.
Thanks for the fun times Dean, all the best.

Whilst I haven't agreed with things in the last few months he has given us some memorable days. Talking to my son after the Reading victory was a fabulous reminiscence. He had volunteered to work in Burkina Faso for 3 months but managed to follow the game. When I retired from teaching one of my colleagues had written to him about me endlessly going on about Town and he wrote a lovely letter that had me in tears on my last day when they presented it in a frame. Enjoy your retirement too Mr Hoyle. UTT.

Thanks for your fine leadership of the club Dean. You've shown great purpose, imagination and stamina, and took us to heights we wouldn't have dreamt of. All best wishes for the future.

Steady on you might upset a few on here tonight with those comments. Dean has released a statement. I hadn’t seen it. Yes it was brilliant when he took us on that ride. I hope he is okay and that it isn’t through ill health that he feels he has to step down.

I think ultimately I would say overall it's been better with Dean than without him and thank him for that. Lifes too short to be bitter and resentful, whilst it's been difficult recently id say than you fir the memories and the humility of todays statement. Admitting making mistakes deserves forgiveness at least.
Im not sure whats gone on between him and Phil and hopefully someone with the dosh like Marcus Evans can come in, install some football people and let them get on with it.
I can only wish Dean and everyone on the board good health tonight and all the best with his recovery.
Great statement today and again, hopefully someone can come in and fix it.

Hopefully his health improves and his 14 year stint is, in time, remembered fondly. The sniping over the years has been undignified and unnecessary. It absolutely should be remembered fondly. We were a poor third tier side when he took over and we had a couple of years in the Premier League on his watch. Then there was the community stuff. The Breakfast Clubs, Pedal 4 Pounds etc. The close knit feeling from the promotion season where fans and players genuinely felt as one. I admit that I said he'd probably taken the club as far as he could, and I think it's the right decision, but if anyone doesn't admire and appreciate what he's done here then I despair.

'Ultimately' how generous of you Thanks. The last few years have been painful to watch what went up come down and whilst achieving the goal of top 30 set out in 2008 not being able to hold it has been disappointing. "Ultimately" i think saying thank you for todays statement after quite a bit of pissing and moaning on my part, especially more recently, is the right thing to do. Along with forgiveness for someone who has the humility to say sorry and wish them well. Theres no need for snarkiness and passive or direct aggression today I reckon. A day to say thank you for whats gone and the statement today.

He took us to the greedy league, away from the doldrums of League One. Something I never believed I’d see. Sure, he’s made mistakes like we all have. Some good decisions, some bad.
It’s clear that ownership has taken its toll and who can blame him for stepping away? I do feel that time, being the healer it is, will give us all chance to reflect and appreciate what DH has done for the club.
It is time to move on, for him, the club and us as fans. Let’s just hope we can attract the right buyer. I’m not convinced there is anyone out there, but we are where we are.
The club should be here long after Dean Hoyle, MF, LB etc have gone, it’s part of the process. But for now, thank you DH. I wish you a recovery from the illness beset to you.
