Surely the real hypocrites are the people who slag off Qatar, then whoop and cheer when Saudi Arabia win, like the fans in the pub I'm in at the moment watching on TV. I don't think there would be many foreign supporters at the tournament if they weren't allowed to be hypocritical about one thing or another. Similar thoughts crossed my mind on this one TBF, which of the two sides would you least like to lose? |

Although where she gets the idea security were "heavy handed" is beyond me. Heavy handed is being chased by baton-wielding riot gear-wearing coppers, not being politely asked to remove headwear  Someone not agreeing with everything you do or say is now 'heavy handed' and possibly illegal. She forgets she is in a different country with religious laws that actually are not her concern other than the world cup is being played there, which she does not have to attend. If it is her intention to push the laws of another country as far as she can then crack on but ffs dont moan about the outcome. I dont blame the religion for the world cup being in Qatar, there are many suspects but not the law there. I dont think any previous hosts have been asked to change their laws to host the competition??That's pretty much what I said a few pages back! |

She was interviewed on Sky News. An ex Welsh international footballer, now in some role for the Welsh FA. That makes my previous post about possible media agenda seem MORE relevant then. If she's some part of the Welsh FA was she there in an official capacity or as a fan? Surely some parts of the media aren't trumping up charges or pushing boundaries to create a story? Surely not!  She was filmed in the queue then filmed having it taken off her. Think like you say, they are just looking for stories where they can. Why don’t we just abide by their ways. Just like I wish folk who come here would abide by ours. If you really have an issue don’t go. Personally this is two on the bounce I wouldn’t have gone to if someone had paid for me to go. |

If that happened live on TV here, she’d get a letter in the post a few days later saying that the case has been closed due to lack of evidence. I don’t agree with lots that go on over there but us taking a leaf out of their book on policing, crime and punishment, would be a step in the right direction in my opinion. Deportation?? Not a local suspect then? Dont know, maybe meant jail time if a local, or deportation if a foreigner. |

IMO nothing is out of bounds for comedy thanks to being surrounded by gallows humour all my life; amputees saying they've got a minor flesh wound, racist jokes told by black/asian squaddies, etc. But I know a lot of people wouldn't agree |

Mind you that’s the government’s fault. Dont blame the religion for it being allowed to gain holds in other countries and to have them give it much more respect than their own indegenous religions. Taking advantage is what religion and politics is about. If countries are stupid enough to allow it to happen without any thought of the eventual consequences then you cant blame those using the advantages gained, its not being done by force of arms. |

It was illegal to drink alcohol in a Brazilian stadium prior to the 2014 world cup. It was Illegal after the 2014 world cup. They changed the law for the duration of the world cup at FIFA's behest. |
