It's brilliant how they can manage to censor the internet as well as TV and radio. Yet we can't stop paedos grooming kids online or people spouting racial hatred

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63801583A shame they couldn't pick a game where they know play acting would be a big problem, but nevertheless it'll be interesting to see how these top players respect female officials. In reality, as long as they know the rules and are fit and healthy enough, gender shouldn't be a thing for this role. Having said that, from the games I've watched, the standard of refereeing (on the pitch) seems to have passed off without too much controversy.

Sian Massey was one of the best lino's ever, way better than most of the male ones. I can't recall seeing her ref a game though but if she's as good at that as running the line then Attwell, Pawson, Hooper and the rest can eff right off!

Agree, whenever theres beena female lino at a town game they have often done it often better than the blokes, i realise just like male officials some will be better than others though.

Any female, able or not could ref better than Moss and watch VAR better than Tierney!

Just re-read this. I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes and I've only just realised... what was the ref doing with a bottle of chloroform in his pocket?

I know that deal is nowt to do with football players, but still made me literally lol So the Germans** go from propping up one despotic nation by buying their gas, to propping up another despotic nation by buying their gas. ** this is just a joke, I know ALL nations do deals with some pretty diabolical regimes.

I said when the protests started it was all just meaningless virtue signaling. The time for protests was during the World Cup bidding process. If they really had a problem with Qatar they should have said they would not show up and followed through. Once you are there it is too late.

Just re-read this. I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes and I've only just realised... what was the ref doing with a bottle of chloroform in his pocket? Come on Kenny! Re-read it and think it was the ref. It was the Manager who had the Chloroform in his pocket. Presumably to knock the poor buggers out if they suffered a broken leg or whatever. Football was a completely different ball game back then......pun intended. Especially as far as Johny Foreigner interpreted it as well, but someone will no doubt object to that last bit on some spurious nonsense. I'm talking then, NOT now.

When the world cup is over what are they goimng to do with all these fantastic shiny new stadiums? They are taking down the one built out of containers &, if Uruguay are successful in getting the centenary World Cup, I think they are flogging the containers to them.

Uruguay want to teach their players how to behave before they get handed any more World Cup hosting privileges. Fucking disgrace that lot.

Apparently there's been a break in at the England team hotel. Nothing taken but the intruders did manage to get pics of Southgate's hotel room wall..
