I'm also pleased to think that AK will help the younger players by improving standard of competition in training.

I’m excited about this. Lawton is a very good signing too.

I'm hoping his contribution will be more about winning free kicks around the edge of the area than scoring goals. I can just hear the post match interview: "Guys, listen. It's disappointing to lose 1-0, especially to your relegation rivals, but we won loads of free kicks around the edge of the area, so on another day we win."

'So Debbie, what attracted you to multimillionaire Paul Daniels?' Mrs Merton, fucking brilliant RIP Ms Aherne "So George (Best), if you hadn't done all that running around playing football, do you think you'd have been as thirsty?"

This is potentially one of the most exciting signings in the last 10 years or so…. However I was equally excited when we signed Majewski but that didn’t work out amazingly. I wonder what the opinion would be if we signed Kevin De Bruyne or Riyad Mahrez who are playing better than ever before (World Cup excluded for KDB) as these are both 31! Have they both not played much for the last 2 years ? It's not his age, it's his fitness.

Bentley was referring to goal contributions, not goals scored. I'm not expecting him to score many, but he might create a few. It's 8 goals with 9 assists in his last 100 appearances. Ah that's the spirit, let's shoot the poor bugger down before he's even put his boots on!

We’ll have to hope there’s still some desire there, and hopefully not an opportunity for him to top up his pension fund.
Let’s wait & see, it’s definitely one of those signings that’s come out of the blue.
He was pretty good the last time he played in B&W stripes…

Is right wing not one of the few positions we already have a half decent player?

He was pretty good the last time he played in B&W stripes… He wont be earning any more here than he would be anyway will he, except maybe an appearance bonus ( which he'll only keep getting if hes any good) ?. He'll have his Fulham contract whatever he does. Fulham will just get a loan fee.

I think you're being a bit harsh on the centre forward. JR has been working hard in training and it's been paying off lately. A few others would do well to follow his example.

Think this is a shrewd signing, regardless of fitness, it is clear AK is a born winner and has vast experience in this division. That in itself is great around the place. I don't expect him to start many games. But 20-25 minutes at the end could be vital to build him up to doing an hour for us later on in the season.
His finishing is up there with Rhodes, you never lose that.

Things can change quickly though in football, Sorba needs a goal for his confidence.

Is right wing not one of the few positions we already have a half decent player? Yep. I think this gives us options though. Apart from competition for the shirt, I wouldn't necessarily be averse to them both being on the pitch at the same time. Sorba looked decent at wing back with Pearson & Lees behind him & Sinani in front, drifting inside to make space for ST to run into & I can see Knockaert playing a similar role to Sinani. Alternatively, ST on the right of the "3" in a 4-2-3-1 with Knockaert in the middle of that 3 is something I can see working. I do worry about our left side though. The right looks pretty decent, but then on the left we look painfully weak.

Don't panic Luke ayling will fill that gap I hadn't heard that rumour, but with Lowton just signed, KKH finally finding form and Turtinho reportedly not far from a return and Jackson being able to use both feet I question the need for another RB.
