What a depressing week. If it wasn’t for Warnock i’d already be resigned to relegation. He really is the only cause for hope isn't he ? A squad that is as big as most that we've ever had, and is genuinely as weak as we've had for years. Even in the old 3rd Division/4th Division days we always had several players you could pin your hopes on. This year, apart from Nicholls I really can't think of anyone, in any position, I would trust to get us out of this mess. Without going over old ground, Hoyle, Hodgkinson and Bromby have so much to answer for - we're in a mess from top to bottom. As a boring old fart who remembers numerous relegations, and days in Division 4, I have never known a season like this (I KNOW it's all relative) - it's mid February and can ANYONE name me a match they have really enjoyed ? Shame on the lot of them.

Hopefully an emergency loan or two We can only get an emergency loan if Vaclik, Smith, Bilo and Chapman are all injured or suspended. And only goalkeepers are available. Fair enough

Hopefully an emergency loan or two There's no loan window, it's shut. Free agents at best but how fit are they going to be? We need to throw the kitchen sink at it so you’d think they’ll be looking regardless

Wow.. worst performance I’ve seen in years.
Players ought to hang their heads in shame. Something tells me tho there’s more to it. We need a massive refresh. Players coach’s physios even Denise the dinner lady..
Gutted about what’s happening to our club, something just seems off dead off..
I don’t think pep could save us this season. I think it’s time to accept our fate and prepare for league one. If any of the players want out that’s fine. Not one player in that squad I think I’d miss..
Can you tell me 3 other teams in this league that are realistically worse than us? I can’t think of any
As someone said previously I’d throw hudlin and Campbell up top and go 442 what do we have to lose…
🤯🤯

Correct me if I am wrong about Hudlin 🔵⚪🔵 Hudlin is in the 25 and I think they mean Simpson rather than Campbell.

Well people like you over exaggerate. A rugby tackle? Really? And let's be honest, when people comment on how shit a ref is etc, it is because you are of the thought he is swinging a bias to the opposition. If you can be arsed to read posts from myself on threads, I have called refs out numerous times blaming them. So the people like me comment isn't really justified. Oh please just crawl under your rock again mate. Ffs! An absolute belting contribution. Well done.

I was only watching a bit half heartedly on the red button, but even then it was obvious that this new keeper doesn’t command his area any better than Schofield did. Even if he is a good keeper when fit, these games are coming thick & fast, versus opponents who are going to be approaching games in a more positive, play-off bound type mentality. However, on the whole, this just typifies our season. It’s been a bit of a disaster from the off, our luck has been virtually zero (Hawkeye anyone?), injuries and 2 poor managerial appointments. I’m not suggesting we’ve not been shite on the field, but everything that could go wrong has pretty much gone wrong. A win v Brum is an absolute must. It still wouldn’t move us out of the relegation zone, but on paper it’s going to be one of the ‘easiest’ games we have left. Everything else is lined up for Saturday as well, I just hope Warnock reads these lads the bloody riot act. Why wouldn't you suggest we've been shite on the pitch because in the main, we have, bloody awful at times, real dire stuff.

I've been following Town since the early '70s and I've seen some poor players and teams. Now I'm not going to say that this is the worst Town team I've ever seen, but they are pretty atrocious. It looks as though many want out, they are timid and unsure, and when the opposition get the ball for any period of time and their confidence drains away.
A few of things I noticed about last night:
1. Remember when we used to laugh at teams that would just hoof free kicks (from any position on the field) into the penalty area? That's us now.
2. The first touch from some of the players is appalling - Lowton and Koroma... hang your heads in shame.
3. Not one of the midfielders is anywhere near the penalty area if on the rare occasion we get Hungbo in a clear position to cross. (I'm trying to remember which midfielders have scored this season).
4. The default is to hoof it up to one of the smallest strikers in the Championship and when he goes off, just hoof it (the "gerit forad" lot will be happy).
I'm trying to remember a team as consistently bad as this - no plan, no organisation, no method of play. At least Warnock will not let us go down without a fight.

Fell asleep at half time and I’ve just seen the score. Glad I didn’t bother to fight my tiredness. Sounds like it was an utterly dreadful performance. I’m wondering if even the great Warnock can turn this group of half hearted con men, that fool the world into thinking they are footballers, into the Real McCoy, or anything close? He’ll have a devil of a time trying. Most of them too far gone for me.

We are a team that have given up. We are ground down, deflated, broken. Warnock should be running away from this shitstorm. I really don’t know where he begins. It’s horrible. We were literally all over the place in that game and the fight is gone. How the hell do we turn this shambles around? steal the refs whistle so the games cannot start.

I’m still struggling with that team selection. So much so it’s making me angry and I want an explanation from the coaches involved! We have 5 strikers that have played first team football this season. 2 others in Hudlin and Harrett that have played league football. Can someone from the coaching staff please explain why only 1 (ONE!!!) was picked in the match day squad. Ward is injured, Harrett not sure he can play. The rest?

Whoever picked the team last night should be put up the road.
Dreadful selection. As soon as it came through I backed Stoke -1, it was so obviously going to go that way.
A complete shambles on and off the pitch. I don’t think the people running the club could have don a worse job had they purposefully tried. It’s been a string of bad decision after bad decision since we lost at Wembley.

Everything about that selection was amateurish as it was at Wigan. 1. As you say where was another striker ? 2. Pearson is not a right back 3. Scott high - although tidy on the ball- has no idea where he should be on the pitch 4. Why did Hungbo not start? 5. Why did koroma play out of position 6. This goal keeper is clearly crocked. 7. Play Knockart behind the striker. He will bring the wingers into play. 8. Our midfield is shit. So the obvious tactic is to play it long. So don’t pick a small striker. 9. Why did all those strikers play in the b team? 10 Where are Simpson, kamberi ? Why have we signed them ? They should be work now and being reminded that the bare minimum is desire and passion.

What a depressing week. If it wasn’t for Warnock i’d already be resigned to relegation. It's only going to get worse As well as our almost certain relegation you just know that the following will happen this season - Man City will win the PL for a 3rd successive season - no Town fan should want that to happen and they'll almost certainly go and win a fourth next year and put our proud record to the anals of history Both Notts Forest and Leeds will survive Either Corberan or Wagner will get promoted through the play offs Bradford will get promoted and we'll see overweight Bantams crying in the stands next season when they do the double over us Oh, and the Massive will get promoted as well. What a season!

IMO the worst starting 11 that has ever started in a championship game for Town, never any doubt that we would lose.

I'm pretty angry about that non-performance last night. if I were Warnock I'd spend an hour tearing a strip off every one of those players... but he won't. Unfortunately he'll have to reinstate some sort of order, come up with a plan and tell them how they are really good players. this bit makes me sick.

Last throw of the dice now with Warnock taking over the team. 31 games gone, 3 managers and 23rd out of 24. 3 points from the last 7 games against 'easier' teams mainly.. We can only hope and pray but this is a massive task to restore morale in the camp and try to get a weak squad of players to play above themselves for 15 games, and find someone somewhere who can actually score goals... The 'cheap as chips experiment' Dean went for has backfired massively, as many said it would, but all we can do now is play our part in these final games and do our best to back Warnock and his plans for the side...the inquest, if there's to be one, can wait until summer.
