Surely if you get a six point deduction for your first offence then you get a bigger punishment for committing the same offence for a second time? Personally I don't think that the EFL should be negotiating at all with Reading. They should investigate then hand down the punishment if found guilty. What is the point in having FFP rules when if they are broken the culprit then negotiates their punishment. It's laughing in the face of other clubs who have stuck rigidly to the rules and have ended up getting relegated.

Haven't Reading been taking the p*ss with player wages for a few years now? I'm sure there was some 'fair play' embargo on transfers last year, but they just worked round it buy bringing a load of expensive frees and PL loaners?

Am I the only one popping back to this thread in the hope that the last post was ‘a few seconds ago’ & was up to about 18 pages? 😉

Surprised one of the clubs below reading (maybe Cardiff) haven’t threatened to sue if the punishment isn’t handed down. That would get the situation moving.

If I had a choice I wouldn't choose them to go down from the likely contenders. their fans were bob on back in 2017 before and after.
Wigan Blackpool and Cardiff all day long.

QPR and Reading have winnable games Friday, Cardiff are at Blackpool.
On the face of it an obvious disadvantage for us but if they lose the pressure really will ramp up.

The only games we can effect are the ones we play in. Warnock looks up for the fight now he has finally got started. Win our games then it really doesn’t matter what the others do.

Couldn't believe how many were coming out straight after the final whistle!

Surprised one of the clubs below reading (maybe Cardiff) haven’t threatened to sue if the punishment isn’t handed down. That would get the situation moving. Dont think that is possible. They would have to get the information from the EFL to show that Reading have broken the rules again. Highly unlikely if the EFL are letting them off. I can see them getting any deduction before Friday if they do get one as the EFL will have said we have given you enough time to get points on the board to make the deduction irrelevant.

Boro did something similar with derby the other year. Putting pressure on might force a decision.

QPR’s run in looks very challenging - if we can pick up another couple of wins and draws I’m hopeful that would see us finish above them

Must be a few teams sailing close to the wind on ffp. How the hell do Boro afford that squad without any parachute payments?

I'd love to know why Reading are so shit, despite rinsing the arse out of the FFP regulations on a yearly basis.
That takes some skill.

All clubs down there have got twenty odd points to play for, theres going to be plenty of twists and turns yet, good thing is we're back in the mix and our fortune seems to have changed at the right time of the season, still lots of hard work to do, but its on.

There’s a saying at my work, “there’s no friends at sign off”… which in this case it would be the equivalent of “there’s no friends in a relegation battle”. As much as I like their fans who have shown class, I’m not going to feel for them if their club is relegated off the back of playing outside the rules, especially if it was at the expense of us being relegated.

I'd rather stay up without a 'helping hand', but rules are rules !
As others have mentioned QPR look the team in freefall and can't buy a win, Ainsworth must be wishing he'd stayed at Wycombe.

If I had a fiver for every time i've seen reports that the decision 'coming soon....'.
We've had this for a month now, Ince must have said it 4 times....
Don't know why the EFL can't get the evidence right first time, so there's no need for a discussion about it, after all, the ref is always right, yes ? If clubs want to appeal then they should risk a doubling of the penalty points if they are unsucessful. That'll test their resolve and likely quicken up the process.
