Our next 2 games are more or less free hits and in with a better chance of getting something if we can repeat the BORO performance
Big advantage is that the town players have been rested this week and maybe a few back from injury
Cannot see blackpool pulling GD back so we know what our final option will be if all else fails

They might not go ‘on the beach’ due to the alleged Burnley ‘accusations’ to The EFL by Town... That HTAFC have not denied this nor apparently been asked about it has created a dangerous rumour and speculation innuendo vackum - I really wish someone in the media would question Town about this - but there again if they’ve foolishly done it (officially complained) then maybe it’s best forgotten about and hopefully dies away before a hopefully on the beech Sheffield United visit Huddersfield ! Maybe they’ll be too busy tying a yellow ribbon round an old oak tree somewhere? 😉 Well - Maybe at The Barnsley FC stadium ! 😊

You couldn't make this end of season up if you tried . It's nailed on for our final game against Reading as the decider . I think we'll only need a point , which could be worse than needing all three , as I wouldn't be able to stomach sitting in our own half all match . I keep saying it beats mid table mediocrity , but I can see it being a very nervy , arse nipping 90 minutes.. Definitely a few pre match pints will be required.. BELIEVE.

Leave The Westend Eastate at 3pm - CD on in ma motor till Kilchoman @ 3.30pm - The Beech walk with The i-pod for 60’s & 70’s relaxation music should tale an hour and a half (for ma 20 stone belly) ! Then all over - back to the motor and phone on and hopefully a load of congratulations texts... And home to a bottle of - well it’ll have to be KILCHOMAN MALT ! 😜 🥃 Oh If Carlsberg did Monday’s - then do it a fortnight today ! 👍 Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

How’s about Cardiff win Thursday, all get together Saturday to watch Reading drop points and drink all night celebrating and arrive at the ground Sunday still dressed in their going out out gear.

I've horrible visions of them lumping balls in to Joao, Carroll, Holmes, Sarr etc for the last 30 minutes with zero out ball. Really hope we sort it before that game because it will end in tears if not

Over half a million permutations. Somebody quickly go thru them and see how many permutations see Town stay up.

Judging by the photos, on the town website today. Hogg will be missing maybe? as no sight of him. Good to see Yuta and Nicholls back training, spesh Nicholls seem to be taking part in full training.

Having just looked at the fixtures again surely Wigan must be really up for it in Saturday. Win at Reading and they will be level on points with a home game against Rotherham to finish, Reading at Town.

Just wonder what’s going through the players minds. They have performed really well including the Sunderland point but had things gone against us (Reading winning 2 games) since then we would be in the bottom 3 by 4 points. Fate!

For the first time this season it’s 100% in our hands. Beat Reading and we stay up, full stop. Good results against Cardiff and Sheff U. (say 4 points ) may well keep us up anyway. I for one didn’t see us being in this position UTT At no point in this season has it NOT been 100% in our hands. Supposing, from any point, we had won all our games. It is not possible for a combination of results, in other games, to have seen us relegated.

What I was trying to say was we can be safe down to us, not anybody else. I take your point though should everybody win their home games and therefore loss all their away games 3 teams would go down on 69 points!

I assume you have analysis everyone else results since then and awarded wins to all apart from when they play each other. It would be useful to see YOUR calculations and when they played each other who you awarded the points to. Bit pedantic but appreciate you have put a lot of time working this out and would appreciate seeing your findings!

I have a good feeling that Wigan will beat Reading, because its win or go down for them. last chance saloon. If Wigan win and then we beat Cardiff, I feel we will be safe, not mathematiclly but the better GD over Blackpool will be enough.

I think we'll lose the next two, Reading draw with Wigan and we go in to the last game below Reading on goal difference Jordan Rhodes wins it for us in the 97th minute with a blatant handball missed by the officials

This would be a gut wrenching scenario, Reading beat Wigan, we get a draw at Cardiff, then we beat Sheff U, then Reading take safety away from us by beating us.
This only happens if Cardiff beat Rotherham, and Rotherham beat Middlesbrough.
Basically we can get 4 points and still get relegated.

Given we have lost 1 in the last 7 I don’t share your pessimism that we will loose the next 2 games but if that’s your view then you must have quite a low opinion of NW.

Depends on what happens before but if Cardiff and Sheff Utd still have something to play for then they will be tough games. Hopefully NW springs another surprise but it wouldn't be very Town like to be safe before the final day

After studying all the possible outcomes, all the permutations I have decided that the best outcome would be for all the other teams to lose every game and for Town to win all of ours.

Bit pedantic but appreciate you have put a lot of time working this out and would appreciate seeing your findings! Sorry, I was in error. Up to and including Match 33 it was 100% in our hands After Match 34, (4th March, Coventry 0-4) it could have been possible for us to be relegated, even if we won all our remaining games and finished on 67pts. (This only perms in games involving the bottom 9 teams, too complex, and probably pointless, to add more) After Match 39, (1st April, Boro 4-2) and the deduction of 6pts from Reading (3rd April) it went back into own hands, 100%. So what I should have said was:- For only 5 games during this season has our fate NOT been 100% in our hands.
