At no point in this season has it NOT been 100% in our hands. Supposing, from any point, we had won all our games. It is not possible for a combination of results, in other games, to have seen us relegated. At one stage we were 6/7 points adrift. So we win all our remaining games. I assume you have analysis everyone else results since then and awarded wins to all apart from when they play each other. It would be useful to see YOUR calculations and when they played each other who you awarded the points to. Bit pedantic but appreciate you have put a lot of time working this out and would appreciate seeing your findings! It was definitely in our own hands with 7 games to go

If Reading and Wigan draw and Town beat Cardiff we are safe Blackpool could still overtake us on goal difference if they win both remaining games and we lose our other 2.

After studying all the possible outcomes, all the permutations I have decided that the best outcome would be for all the other teams to lose every game and for Town to win all of ours. I reckon we’d have a chance of staying up if that happened. Although in typical Town fashion we’d still end up ballsing it up somehow, playing an ineligible player or something and getting a points deduction.

If Reading and Wigan draw and Town beat Cardiff we are safe Not if we beat Cardiff 1 - 0 then Reading beat us 2 - 0.

If Reading and Wigan draw and Town beat Cardiff we are safe Not if we beat Cardiff 1 - 0 then Reading beat us 2 - 0. But if Wigan beat Reading and Huddersfield beat Cardiff… then Blackpool can still catch us if they’ve beaten Millwall 😀

Up until recently we have been looking at all the options that might give us a chance of staying up. Now we are looking at the options that might send us down. Oh how things are changing.

It's almost crunch time isn't it..the final act in this tense thriller. We've been sat aside watching the performance of others during a 12 day absence from the action. We've seen QPR (4 pts), Blackpool (3 pts), cardiff (4 pts) and Wigan (6 pts) close in on us , or overtake us. The gap below us has narrowed so yes, we're looking over our shoulder now.
Still 4 games to be played before we finally get back into action on Sunday..things could get much worse, Reading could overtake us, Blackpool draw level on points... Tonights key game, Rotherham v Cardiff surely has to be an away win..potentially putting Cardiff safe before we play them.. It's like death by a thousand cuts with a key game each day...
We can only watch, and hope..

Not looking over our shoulders really if you’re referring to Wigan and Blackpool as realistically we’re gonna have to win a game to stay up which would put us out of reach of Wigan and probably Blackpool. Was expecting to be sat in the relegation zone already so I think things have gone ok results wise (barring QPR winning at Burnley)

Here's my prediction, Reading beat Wigan. Town lose to Cardiff and Sheff U.
The final game Town beat Reading and are safe by 1 point.

I decided to spend a few days away, walking around Robin Hoods Bay to prepare myself for the upcoming games...prepare myself for the tension of the weekend too.. It's just the job to take your mind off it all, well it works for me..at my age....

That would do of course - But I hope in that scenario that every pharmacy in Huddersfield and her surrounding areas with strong Town support have plentiful supplies of Ramipril (a daily high blood pressure capsule that I swallow every lunchtime) !!! 🤭

Anything could happen but Reading haven't won a game for two months. At least come Saturday tea time we will know exactly what we need to do and we will have three games to do it.

We've basically got 2 free hits before the crunch game vs Reading. Win that last game and we're safe no matter what.

We've basically got 2 free hits before the crunch game vs Reading. Win that last game and we're safe no matter what. If Cardiff are pretty much safe after winning tonight, (and Reading don't win on Saturday) it'll take 'some' of the tension out of their game with us, same as with Sheffield Utd having secured promotion already..didn't want them coming to the JSS in high intensity mode. It's arguable whether a relaxed team or a nervous but highly energised team is better to play against, but think I prefer the former tbh.
Knowing exactly what we need by Saturday evening is a massive help for us, in theory..

We're all Cardiff tonight, yeah? Then two games against teams on the beach and the final one still there as insurance.
It's ridiculous how well we've done to get to a position like this when I think 99% of us had pretty much accepted the reality of playing in L1 next season.

Sheff Utd now on the piss and then have to be taken off the beach to play town.
Surely they will put a weakened team in as it doesnt really matter to them in the title race if they win ,draw or loose
QPR and Reading seemed to have cashed in after Burley got promoted so now its our turn with Sheff Utd
Still think it will be decided against Reading and abit worried as that Andy Caroll always seems to be a thorn in our side

I had the faith when we played that final home game v Birmingham under Bruce and what happened next and still hasnt left me . Town were safe until Palace scored a very late goal at Stockport and was surrounded by silence What happened over the following seasons so nearly saw the end of our wonderfull club and we certainly dont want to go down that path again

I had us down before Warnock rolled into town so anything else now is a bonus. Of course I want championship football next season, but what will be will be, it won’t be the end of the world.
