Fuck me I forgot we signed him, he was absolutely tripe. Him and Jon Newby were arguably the worst strikers we signed in the last 20 years and we've had some serious guff in that time! At least Jon Newby looked like a decent signing on paper for our level at the time, but Simon Church always looked like he was someone else’s cast off.

All I can remember of him was a peach of a cross he put in at Barnsley for Vaughan (I think) to score

He's gone on to reasonable things but I think during his loan spell with us Lukas Jutkiewicz was even worse than Church. At least Church did score (I think) during his loan.

Has the game sold out? Was hoping to switch stands but looking at the seating map to buy tickets there isn’t any space

Exactly this, the last 10 minutes at Cardiff were torture. I was increasingly tense from Monday onwards. But the feeling at the end of both games, especially last night. And sharing those moments with my 2 lads brings it home why following a team is like nothing else. To properly appreciate the highs you have to experience the lows, however just a mid-tale finish at least once in 15 years would be ok by me. The number of people since Thursday who have asked if I enjoyed the game is ridiculous. The look on their faces when I say no is even worse. I hated pretty much every second, bar the goal and the minute afterwards, until about the 94th minute when I finally thought we can't let two in now.

Has the game sold out? Was hoping to switch stands but looking at the seating map to buy tickets there isn’t any space I guess that they can only open the lower Big Red stand if they have enough personnel to do gates, steward, sell food etc. A better idea would be to ask season ticket holders who can't make it to make their seat available. Any sold could get a fiver credit on their season ticket.

There will still be empty spaces, the map will include season ticket holders seats, some of whom will not be at the game...

Mad isn't it when you think about it. Hate what you've paid to go to but LOVE the bit when it's finished. You can add every play off we've won into that category. Never mind all these people wanting a mid-table season, I just want to win a crucial match 4-0 and enjoy last half hour. Saying that, against Boro I was still nervous at 4-1 🤣

Hope we absolutely smash them. 6 0. Cheating bastards I can see us thumping them to be honest. Think the team will play now without pressure, and will want to see NW out in style. Reading will be likely be disheartened knowing they are down already. Heres hoping!

I don’t know why I am thinking just smash them by as many as possible. Perhaps it’s because I am relieved we are staying up or perhaps I don’t want people to say we only stayed up because of the points deduction. Although other clubs could also help us out there.

Jonathan Hogg completes his tenth season tomorrow as Number six on the team sheet (anyone remember the last no 6), over 300 appearances for Town he is a legend many times over, someone who has managed to win over every manager he has played under with 100% effort he gives in training & on matchdays, not sure who last gave our club 10 years successive service on the pitch (Steve Smith?) but they are few & far between........He's here & there & every f*ucking where.

We now have one objective left. Beat Reading to finish more than 6 points clear of them so nobody can say we only stayed up because of their points penalty.

Fuck me I forgot we signed him, he was absolutely tripe. That's a bit harsh on tripe, which has a good deal of nutritional value. My grand-dad who worked at Emley colliery used to swear by it.

As an aside, I'll bet Carroll cries off with a mysterious niggle on Monday. He'll be desperate for another Championship contract and won't want to get himself injured. Carroll has a contract with Reading until the end of next season.

Am I missing something. If we loose tomorrow and one of QPR (barring a massive goal difference swing), Cardiff or Rotherham loose we wouldn’t be in the bottom 3 anyway irrespective of their 6 point deduction!
