How are people watching this? I’m guessing it’s only people that are there. Doesn’t seem to be televised anywhere. Good, it’s about time the thieving b.stards with fire sticks can’t watch for nothing.

We sound to have lost our way 2nd half, especially with the changes made Not one leader/vocal player on the pitch last 20 mins.

The hospital radio guy thought there were between 12 and 14 thousand in there tonight . He also thinks his penis is between 12 and 14 inches long The official 8k seemed generous…

Harratt, Austerfield both did very well for me
Austerfield covered ground, won a fair amount which looks simple but important as an interception, tight to men, often cleared up. Far more noticeable than High when the two of them were together - albeit given the amount of defending we did you’d say it suited his game more than High
Harratt was excellent, very mature performance alone upfront, looked far stronger than I remembered. Took goal well
Ayina did well, despite few wrong side / losing ball in tight space - strong, positive, comfortable on the ball.
Nakayama looked sharp, so composed, positive and reading of game good. Tired understandably and positioning went off as result of that but delighted to see him back - one of our best players on the ball in any position
Diarra a danger throughout whilst on, positive
Rhodes fair play to the lad, slotted in to midfield, worked socks off and did a good job
We were excellent v 10 last 30 of first half. Their use of the ball and width, speed and movement killed is second half - but no disgrace
Re Jones I thought he was terrible when he came on, looked like a rabbit in headlights, lost the ball every time he touched it then a decent cross from nowhere for the goal!

Excellent: Harratt Diarra Yuta Rhodes (for effort) Good: Jackson Ayina Hudlin Hogg Average: Austerfield Spencer Maxwell Jones Shite: High ReG Mahoney I think Jones is bloody lucky not to be in the shite group. He was awful, even his cross was a hopeful lob into the box with his 'wrong' foot. I was shocked how bad he was when he came on. I was expecting him to be a bit hesitant at times due to his injury, but he looked lost at times and couldn't do the basics. I was hoping he'd be decent addition to the squad assuming he can stay fit, but not on tonight's performance. Spencer and Headley were very susceptible to the crossfield ball, with neither seeming to know who/what was behind them. I think I'd move Jackson up to the 'Good' group as well.

From listening to what Warnock is just said, I think the shop window thing was taken the wrong way. I think he means they’ve put themselves in the window for him to pick them more regularly. Not to sell them.

Having seen all these ‘wee’ teams get through v ‘bigger’ opposition even via the drama of penalties, I feel a tad disappointed that Town just failed to take the game to penalties as we could have gone another round in the cup depending on the draw and it’ll be interesting to see who Middlesbrough get in the draw...
Anyway it wasn’t to be yet again and that’s just HTAFC and The League Cup, I guess -
Ah well only The Championship to concentrate on now for Huddersfield Town...
But there are absolutely NO tiredness issues as excuses available now ! 😴 😴

Thought we did alright tonight to say we had 10 men, Austerfield looked good and Yuta proved he is worthy of starting on Saturday. With Warnock saying Hogg felt something on his hamstring and got taken off at half time, really means we should be bringing in a holding midfielder as Hogg and Kasumu are injury prone and REG has not impressed in midfield.

If Rhodes going to Derby is correct then playing him was a big mistake. Great servant to the club but no room for sentiment is sport. It’s not our job to get him match ready for Derby. It’s Warnocks job to see if Hudlin can perform against decent opposition 🤷♂️

Disappointed to lose (let's be honest nobody ever wants their team to lose) but with such an inexperienced starting 11 (and inexperienced subs that came on) to only lose 3-2 having played 80mins with 10 men isn't too bad.
First half we did well, good pressing that led to our goal. Their equaliser was terrible in terms of the defending but unlucky with it hitting both posts then going in. Could have led at half time, we were definitely a threat.
2nd half was just attack v defence, we barely had a touch of the ball (let alone a shot) in the 2nd half, but not a massive shock in that respect. I know we were a man down but the amount of tines they cut through us, through balls etc was concerning (despite a lack of experience at the back). We deserved to lose (but that's mainly due to the 2nd half), but we gave it a good go.
Certainly some positives (Harratt and Diarra in particular) so a small number of players have probably played their way into Saturdays matchday squad, even if not into the starting 11. Would we have lost with 11 on the pitch? Who knows, but I feel like we'd have certainly had more opportunities in the 2nd half, and maybe we'd have got to penalties at least.
Won't lose any sleep over the result, but I'm happy that despite the red, it wasn't a thrashing, and there were positives to take from it, wasn't a complete waste of time.
However at the same time, even with a few players injured, we are very weak, very inexperienced once you get past the players who are good enough to start regularly in the Championship. We need at least 3 or 4 players across various positions to come in ASAP, but I suspect that's not likely to happen

Harratt looked like our only reserve who is "nasty" enough for the men's game.
Rhodes never stopped working.
Poor old Scott High looks like a change of club is his only answer.
REG - the more I see him the more I think he is going backwards. I would have no idea what his strengths are.
Pat Jones - came on, game passed him by, didn't seem too keen to get involved.
Not convinced by Maxwell. Twice rushed off his line and was beaten to the ball.
Yuta - looked comfortable and a class above everybody round him.

Jumped out of a couple of tackles, Warnock won’t stand for that. Given the amount of time he has been out with injuries he may just need time to get his confidence back going into tackles. It has an impact on players. Lets hope he can work his way through it.

Some positives, notably Yuta and Harratt, but if anyone now doubts we aren't weak in the middle of the park tonight should have been the wake up call.
If we have a limited budget we need to prioritise midfield. We can get away up front if Harratt stays fit but we can't go into the bulk of the season without better options in the middle.
I am certain NW knows this and he will be working with the team to get something sorted.

Listening to Warnock after the Plymouth game, this result and team selection shouldn’t have surprised anyone.
Big game on Sat, it’ll be interesting to see if any of the team tonight have done enough to get promoted into the squad.
Annoying for the supporters who went, but this has been a competition that we’ve never gone that far in, if memory serves.

The only annoying thing for me was you can’t see the gold numbers on the shirts so when you’re not familiar with some of the fringe players you haven’t a clue who you’re watching Quite enjoyed the game.

For fear of being shouted down, Hudlin is huge and simply difficult to play against. If he has a modicum of touch then what he requires is strict schooling by an experienced manager on his movement to suit the team he is leading the line for. He will require to chase lost causes and close defenders down, I suspect once in flow he can cover the ground. His heading ability has been questioned but his nuisance value in their half or box probably cant be. We do not appear to be signing another centre forward and therefore it may be wiser to try Hudlin first instead of bringing him on at the death in games where his influence and nuisance value is limited by time or indeed the score at the time. Whatever way to get results is the right way. We laughed at Crouch when he played here for QPR and we sent them down. He was tall and gangly and just a kid, he learned and became incredibly effective. Its just a thought. Ward or Rhodes with Harratt as first replacement? We might miss a trick with kyle.? At 28 feet 7 inches, if he goes for a header in their box with some gusto, the defenders options are limited.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked how we have been unable to bring in a midfielder better than what we already have. The bar is set so low that we must literally be shopping in the bins outside Tesco.
Something fishy is going on because seeing a midfield of REG, Austerfield, High and Mahoney has to go down as a real low point.

For all the praise Harrat is getting for tonight, rightly so, his aerial prowess needs working on big time, he is really poor in the air.

Defend with our lives. Get lucky. And rely on set pieces for a goal. Its possible but yes we are up against it.
