A very confident and articulate Ronnie Jepson. He comes across very well, and it will be good to see him doing more of this sort of stuff as the season progresses. I've also just listened to the Steven Chicken / Kevin Nagle interview. Excellent and well worth a listen. Over to the players on the pitch now. That's where it counts............ Makes you realize just how truly awful Fozzy was.........

For a tenner I’ll probably pop down, not expecting many there at all That makes at least 4 of us then 🤣. Although I do keep forgetting it's a 7pm kick off and will probably get there for the second half 😗. I'm assuming it's 'for the kids' in case it goes to extra time!

Probably the fact it’s: a chance for new fans to come down as no season ticket required A chance for more fans from Boro to come as home earlier More in our control as not a league fixture or on red button Basic common sense You think that's common sense? I do , I live and work in Leeds and hate hanging around before 7.45 kick offs . Appreciate it doesn’t suit everyone but guessing they’ve put some thought behind the 7pm kick off

That makes no sense. Kids are on holiday (can probably stay up later). Kids are at school later kick off ?? Probably the fact it’s: a chance for new fans to come down as no season ticket required A chance for more fans from Boro to come as home earlier More in our control as not a league fixture or on red button Basic common sense Compress the time window between work and kick off during which tickets can be sold at the ground. Make it impossible for Boro fans who have jobs to get to Town for kick off. Seems stupid 🤷♂️

Evening kickoffs are always a rush to make it on time but the 7pm change counts me out of going.

Appreciate it doesn’t suit everyone but guessing they’ve put some thought behind the 7pm kick off I finish work around 6, catch the 6.20 train to Brighouse, gets in station at nearly 7pm. I then have to drive to Hudds, park up, walk down etc. no time to get a shower and changed, nowt to eat as I refuse to buy the overpriced rubbish in the ground, and that's for a 7.45 k.o. 7pm is completely ruled out for me. If I struggle to get there from 15 miles away in Leeds I can't see it benefiting anybody coming down from Middlesbrough. As I said previously, the kids are on holiday so I struggle to see who it does suit.

Most kids who watch town would still go even if it was a 7.45 ko, school holidays as well so dont get the logic, if anything its going to inconvenience adults more than the kids.

Went to Plymouth Saturday, going to Leicester on Saturday but up until 5 minutes ago there was not a chance I was going tonight.
Then I thought it's a tenner to watch our first home game and I fancy watching town and having a pint straight after work.
See you there guys UTT

I see it as a good opportunity to try out some fringe players and youngsters, but the question is how many? Would the youngsters be best served by picking as many as possible, or would it be better to have fewer of them, but have them playing alongside more established players? I seem to recall Brodie Spencer being absolutely hung out to dry by having to do his own job and that of Connor Mahoney when he was still learning. Better options surrounding him might have served him better, and he might not have looked so utterly overwhelmed. Same may be true for others. Maxwell should be a definite starter, but outfield I'd hope Josh Austerfield gets a chance to show what he can do, plus at least one of KH and KH getting a go up front. IMO they'd benefit more from having a few experienced players alongside them rather than filling the side with kids. Squad depth might make that decision for us though...

It makes the 7pm kick-off time very strange. Unless a) there's an overseas TV deal with a 7pm bst kick-off time specified and we're that televised game. Or b) they're expecting it to go a lot of penalties 😉

Kieran Phillips and Aaron Rowe both now seem to have squad numbers, but didn't before. Don't know if we can read anything into that, or not. Rowe also was missing last night and the Examiner have reported that Phillips is back in training, so maybe they will feature.

Straight to penalties in the league cupProbably our best chance to progress unless Middlesbrough decide to play their reserves and prioritise a potential promotion season in their opinion... If they play all their colts and we go full strength then we might just sneak through, there again we may very well prioritise The League ourselves and select our young swifts in which case we probably won’t progress ☹️ Will wait to see our team selection then think of score prediction !

I was about to say never underestimate the Carabao Cup for turn ups, but then remembered our dismal record in this competition....
Last good tie I can recall was beating Derby under Jacko in 2003. Think they had a 16 yr old Tom Huddlestone, built like a Tank !

There were a couple since then that we lost which stand out. Battered Everton the other year and were hard done by Blackburn in 2005. But that's as close as we've got in 20 years!

Pessimistically - the deals for a striker and a right winger have fallen through. Optimistically - they've shown enough in training to suggest they could play a role this season. Which of those it is I have no idea. For Rowe especially though, there's a real player in there and it would be a shame if he pissed away his potential.

Makes you realize just how truly awful Fozzy was......... I think most of us realised at the time. Looking back there's still a part of me that wonders if that really happened or if it was just a bizarre nightmare. There's only one football club in the world that has employed both Mark Fotheringham and Jan Siewert. We should have been forced to start again in the Northern Premier League as penance for our decision making.

I wouldn't have Buzz back to put up scaffolding.
