New lad looked to have a bit of something. Was worried we had another Quaner at first but he looks far more cultured on the ball

Looks good, but also looks nothing like a striker. Hopefully we're still looking to bring in someone who can contribute more than Ward - playing a season out with Ward who has bagged three goals in the last 12 months and a pair of inexperienced back-ups who have one Championship goal between them is a massive risk ☹️ At one point Oggy said something like "it doesn't matter that Ward doesn't score - he's our first line of defence"...the line we've had thrown at us for a long long time now. Yup. He's definitely not. Unfortunately last season was a season too many. Shame, as he's a trier.

My main concern today was how easily they got through and behind our midfield, especially 2nd half. There doesn't seem to be much talking going on between them as I watched more closely what was happening. Either a flat 4 or players just randomly running off and leaving their guys unmarked. All very disturbing. Nevertheless there's a few positives too, good work rate, and movement not bad. Think it just confirmed what we've all said, we need a midfielder and a striker..not 100% sure about Edwards at full back too.. Hence why I reckon we really need a decent one to stay out of trouble. Rudoni is superb but playing out of position at the min. Diarra not quite there yet. Bloody love Pearson tho

How opinions vary…. I’ve seen all three league matches and it still feels to me as if we will be 14th /15th area of the league.

Much better compared to the Plymouth match, don’t think we’ve got the balance quite right. Like that we’re playing football and not just defending the box, but the higher line is giving the oppo too many chances. Need someone with pace that can cover the ball in behind. We seem to keep switching. Started with a high line then went very deep for last 25 of the first half. Second half went a bit higher again I’m fine with the switching, pragmatic and flexible. I just think we’re a bit too open with the higher press and it needs a bit of work.

Decent performance to be honest, think a few town fans are overreacting about how we played, but each to their own.
However, Ward is shite, provides absolutely nothing to the team

Didn’t see the game so can’t possibly comment beyond what I’ve read on here and deemed from Michael Dawson on Soccer Saturday. But if someone had asked me this morning if I’d be happy with a point away at Middlesbrough I’d have definitely taken it.
Got a feeling our first 3 points of the season will arrive next Saturday.

New lad looked to have a bit of something. Was worried we had another Quaner at first but he looks far more cultured on the ball That the same Quaner that we wouldn't have been promoted without? His non-assist at the Cauldron and his winner against Preston for example... I jest, I know that Quaner was a bit of an oddball but he was better than he looked. As a bit of an oddball myself, I'll always defend him against criticism. It's almost a cliché at this point, but defenders never knew what he was going to do because neither did he.

Coming Away with anything points wise at Middlesbrough is good going.
Good point that, when we get our first win (and the monkey is off our back for this season). We will kick on from there.

Decent point. Impressed by the new lad. Hogg man of March for me. This, any away draw in the championship is a decent point. Onwards and upwards.

Agree with this. Losing 3 out of 3 must have been a confidence sapper. If we can beat Norwich next week we can start to build on that. Confidence is a huge thing.

I'd agree if we had someone who could score goals. Three games in and our two goals are from set pieces. One a centre half and one an own goal. Big couple of weeks in the transfer market for us

Imagine the difference if their number 9 played for us. Quick, runs in behind, good footballer.

Just back. Thought we were lucky to come away with a point, mainly thanks to our best player on yhe day- Nichols. We created very few chances whilst Boro scythed through our defense time after time. Our goal looked like a training ground routine which gave some hope, as it was thanks to a Thomas delivery, hopefully some more to follow. The Town Faithfull were suitably raucous, but in all honesty they deserve better than this.

Some absolute doomongers here tonight.
