I think we do better off when we sign players who have never played for a club as big as Town - rather than those coming down the leagues
When we finished third two seasons ago nearly all our players had come from smaller clubs and hadn't played in front of crowds as big as Town get; Nicholls (MK Dons), Turton (Blackpool), Thomas (Borehamwood), Sinnai (Luxembourg leagues), Colville (Chelsea youth team), Toffolo (Lincoln), Russell (Chelsea youth team and Accrington)
At that time for those lads it a pleasure to be at Town - a step up for all them in their careers
Half the issue with Kongolo, Pritchard, Mbenza and Diakhaby is that they pinned to be a bigger club again and they acted/ and played like they were doing us a favour just by playing for us!

Hudlin is 1 of those players who will never be a world beater and always take the brunt of the jokes, but brought on as a sub could nick a point or a winning goal every now again when called on, the new modern day Alan Alan Lee and King Colin Quarter, I wish the lad the best of luck as I do with every player, it is not his fault he isnt ready for championship football, Warnock would have reassured him and led him in the right direction he was the master at that!!. Think he should be supported as we need every player in our thin squad to be 100% confident and on their top mental attitude. If we call Rhodes back in Jan and as in the programme Mr Benn, as if by magic another striker "suddenly appears" in the window he could get loaned out which we all will probably agree won't do him any harm.

I think this is part of the point. Will he ever be a world beater? The next Jamie Vardy? Probably not. But he doesn't have to be, to be a useful acquisition. For what we paid, him being a squad player is perfectly fine. You need those too. And having him come on & cause chaos when we're chasing an equaliser or winner, or filling in when others are unavailable, or just keeping whoever is first choice on their toes is still a very useful role. I do think he's better than a lot of people give him credit for. I'm enjoying watching that lad develop & I wonder if he'll surprise a few people.

That's exactly it, hes not the most technically gifted and needs a lot of work and game time to improve, he certainly seems to have it in him, he's 1 you hold onto for a couple of loans out and see how it pans out, chucked in at the deep end when most had already written him off.

Oh how we have demised. Hudlin will never do anything eyond league 2 level. The fact he is getting on the pitch is an absolute joke (not his fault and always gives 100%) I have nothing against him one bit, but he wouldn't get in many League 1 sides, let alone the Championship. I really hope he proves me wrong, but I can't see it.

I thought he did well from their corners - won two or three in the air.

He’s a young lad with some technical ability but it’s all wrapped up in potential at the moment. Realistically he would another season and half away from starting regular for a championship side. But he’s far far far away from being our major issue

He’s shit. Not his fault he’s put in the position he is playing leagues above his level (probably non league). Any of us would say yes to playing and being paid to play for. Championship club despite our inability to do so.
I have nothing against him on a personal level, maybe one day he’ll forge a career at league one but that’s got to be his ceiling. He is not agile enough to play at this level and never will be unfortunately
My worry is watching elf highlights tonight and thinking I’d take most of league twos strikers over what we have.
Saying all that most of are squad is shit and most wouldn’t walk into a top half league one team and the rest may struggle in bottom half. Just an overwhelming lack of ability. Somehow warnock got them playing above their abilities and talent levels. I don’t believe another manager is going to walk in and do that so we need both new players and a new manager. Can’t see much investment coming in the near future so all looks very bleak imo. Put your house on us going down

Burton have just lost their top scorer to Wycombe so hopefully he gets some decent game time.

He's not even League 1 level. Conference or bottom end of L2. Like Bradford. On reflection - there's no way he get's near their first team either. . They've just recalled the 3rd top scorer in L2. They've Andy Cook and Matt Derbyshire also. It's criminal how Town sometimes persist with players who are tiers below the required standard. There's loads of them in the current squad.
