My MOTM on Monday as well. In first 15 mins Coventry had at least 6 corners and he (and the others) pretty much cleared all first time. Does get forward at set pieces and not just as a battering ram. Also post match interview came over very, down to earth, humble, all in all a really good guy.

Factor out Schindler having the balls to bag that penalty and IMO Helik is a better player than Schindler ever was in the Championship for us. Cost less too. Schindler in Prem season 1 was completely different gravy and whether Helik could hit those heights I dont know, hopefully we get to find out at some point. But I stand by the above. Think I said something not dissimilar a week or two ago on here, although you put it better. I was accused of being on glue. 😀 |

Factor out Schindler having the balls to bag that penalty and IMO Helik is a better player than Schindler ever was in the Championship for us. Cost less too. Schindler in Prem season 1 was completely different gravy and whether Helik could hit those heights I dont know, hopefully we get to find out at some point. But I stand by the above. It's all a matter of opinion. You could opt for Schindler as the best centre back, or you could be a Helik opter. |

Took me by surprise when they first changed this, I was looking at it on my telly for ages and thinking that just doesn't look right! Took me ages to realise what they'd done! Idiots! Because the award is based on how well they played. If it was based upon their qualities as a man you'd never give the award to someone like Mason Greenwood, Marlon King, Adam Johnson.... etc. Meanwhile Peter Clarke could get rinsed by opponents' forwards and still be more of a man than any of those who played better on the day. |

He came on leaps and bounds under NW - I would add Rob Page to great centre halves Page was good for us - transformed our defence - but only played 18 games before signing for Chesterfield. Up there with Monkou being treated like a legend (21 games). For me, you need at least a full season to deserve such accolades. I get what you mean, and I agree he isn't a Town all-time great, but he was one of the best I have seen during his time here. |

Agreed Page was excellent during his time with Town, all apart from that 4-1 beating by Oldham Athletic, Boundary Park, scarred me for life! |

On the rumour mill Leicester City are sounding out Helik with Barnsley fans wanting to know if they have a sell on clause if true.
We need to build a team with him in it.

If we sell Helik, Kev needs to put his hand in his pocket for 2x First team ready, proven CB to play alongside the new fella.
Lees is 34 next season, Pearson 31 next season. I'd be keeping them as capable backup CB and Backup RB.
Said it before and I'll say it again, we also need to sign a first team quality RB, I've seen enough of Jackson and he isn't going to get us in the Premier League 3 years.
Losing Helik would be a disaster, especially in January.
