Many are quoting fate and the fact England’s Name is on the Trophy after late goals and the win on penalties but in reality that means nothing. Let’s perform well give it our best shot and hope that proves enough to emerge victorious. No regrets and no hard luck stories and let’s win this and not be gallant in defeat just for once. Already pacing the floor in nervous anticipation at what could be one the greatest football days of our lives. 🏴🏴🏴🙏🙏🙏 I’m with you. Couldn’t have a lie in this morning in anticipation of later today. Bring it on!

Just think. In a little over 12h we might know if Englands name is on the trophy?
A dead cert for that scenario will be the pictures of John Terry changing his clothes in the crowd and leaping into the England dugout…

Simple disappointment at a loss 2. A dry cleaning bill for your moleskin trousers that will be saturated in COLT 45 or Castlemaine… (plus an additional cost for the beer that you might launch)

Days like today are great the excitement the tension , went to Germany for my first tournament and what an absolute awesome experience, saw no trouble the exact opposite friendships made with fans from other nations and contacts for further great experiences. HTFC are always number 1 but my god this as renewed my passion I had as a youngster for England , and having that is nothing but an absolute gift . Come on England. Time to bring it home.

Whatever happens I hope that song is dropped going forward. Hopefully because we've finally brought something home but if not it's just an excuse for every nation to take the piss out of us. Thirty years of hurt will now be 60 by the time the next WC comes around if we don't win tonight.

Great song as well.

"It's coming home" always referred to the fact that Euro 96 was hosted here and that meant that football was coming home to where it was created. Nothing to do with the trophy coming home. Though I imagine those that misinterpreted that are the same ones that sing "jewels remain still gleaming" instead of "Jules Rimet still gleaming"...

Imagine some folk today looking at that trophy and thinking “wow, it’s small innit”… Such a shame that these tournaments are so over commercialised nowadays. But that’s progress. You could argue it’s more difficult to win a major international tournament now because there are more countries playing the game who can put a dent in the hopes of more favoured nations. Tough game tonight, England need to be on it from the off. Who knows, it might be the perfect timing thing, a bit like Jonny Wilkinsons drop goal?

We've already had our "like Jonny Wilkinson's drop goal" moment with Harry Kane's penalty against France in the World Cup!

I've double checked my maths on this one. Euro 96 will be as close to 1966 as it will to the next World Cup.
How the hell did that happen?

Saw a mad stat this morning, that out of the last 22 finals either a Spanish club team or the Spanish national team have reached they’ve won all 22!
Hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm one bit though, got a feeling foden is going to have one of those magic games tonight and we win.

Spent all my money watching Jude and Har-ry.
