Dane Scarlett has been recalled by Tottenham Hotspur from Ipswich If he signs I'd make him Captain. The voice of the Mysterons says, 'no'!

Also, we need either 2 proper full backs, or if God forbid Moore still remains as manager and insists on playing 5-3-2/3-5-2. We need 2 bionic wing backs who can run up and down the wings defending and attacking on their own each and every game. Well, that’s exactly what happened vs Blackburn and we’re 3 goals and points better for it. Still, one swallow doesn’t make a summer…no, but it does make a cracking end to the night...

Played for Wednesday in League One under another manager who is known to us. Maybe DM can finally put Nat and Jordan together in the same team.

Hull City, Birmingham City & Huddersfield Town looking to capitalise on Derby County's Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's contract situation at Pride Park If the best player the recruitment team can come up with is a 31 year old winger who has not played at this level in 3 seasons, then I don't know what to say. Not like he is tearing it up in League 1 either...

I'm in two minds on this. He's a right winger or right wing-back. A position we need, but not one we need because our first choice isn't good enough. Sorba Thomas is great, but he has no real cover or competition for his place. You can't rotate him out at all. As cheap cover for Sorba I'm ok with this one based on footballing reasons. A similar standard striker or central midfielder and I'd be very disappointed. My concern is more his disciplinary record. Frozen out at Peterborough and sacked by Middlesbrough - both times for disciplinary reasons - suggests he may be more trouble than he's worth.

So we need a midfielder who can pass. A creative midfielder who can get the the ball from a midfielder who can pass and can then create chances for our striker. A striker who can score chances created by the creative midfielder who can get the ball from a midfielder who can pass. Simple. Not sure we need two full-backs. A first-team-ready right back will do (Jackson and Turtinho deputising). Yuta, Headley, Ruffels and Jackson to choose from on the left = we're fine there. A right winger to enable us to rotate out Sorba (or cover for injuries and suspensions). A creative midfielder who can control the tempo of the game and pick a pass (a Mooy or Eiting type). Needs to be first team ready. Defensive midfielder as a long term replacement for Hogg. Two strikers. One of which might be Rhodes but we need another to be a first-team-ready first choice.

Maybe we are cashing in on Sorba and he's the replacement?

Not saying there is anything in this but....JORDAN LARSSON son of Henrick Larsson - currently is on a short term contract at Copenhagen after leaving Spartac Moscow (because of the war in Ukraine) went to Russia for multi million pounds a few years ago but is still around 26 years old Due to his recent upheavals is likely available for a 1.5m compensation deal apparently - just read an artical (which will not paste up on here unfortunately) He would be some coup if we could pick up a player of his undoubted skill and lineage - his dad did ok over here after all !!

Wonder if we might be in for Ollie Arblaster from Sheff Utd on loan. Young talented CM, just been recalled from Port Vale after impressing this season. They might need him themselves but if not, getting some championship experience in Yorkshire before next season might be a win-win.

Haha! Fucking hell, I’ll have some of what you’re supping. There’s ambition and there’s dillusion. I would imagine every club in the bottom half of the Prem, as well as the Bundesliga to name a few, would be all over this.

I just live in hope when I log in to this thread that somebody has actually heard something, rather than just random names we might be interested in. We seem to be much better at keeping things under wraps........or there is nobody remotely close to coming.....!!!

I don't mind people posting names that they hope we will sign.
The issue for me is that the majority of names poster are for old past it players with no or little championship experience.
We have to improve in January and we can't afford to replicate the random bag of poor players we brought in last January. I have no idea what our budget is, but based on the majority of names posted on here you can see that out sights are set very low at the moment.
I just wonder what the other clubs around the relegation zone are planning in January, because if we don't improve more than they do we could end up going down with a better team than we have currently.
